I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

Hello. Joining you all as I’ve just done my first mounjaro jab. Feel a mix of things, bit of shame that it has come to this but trying to focus on the exciting potential.

Ive 50-60lb to drop.

I did my first injection last night, which was easy. The needle was very short and fine, so no pain. I decided to do it in my thigh.

I had a restless night - I feel slightly buzzy but that may just be excitement/nerves. I have woken up feeling fine other than a slightly sore throat. The smell of food in the fridge made me feel slightly nauseous. Let's see how the day goes 😊

I felt like this on the first night too. I'm on day 3 now and have woken up feeling so much better today. I really recommend electrolyte drinks as I had a headache for the last two days that seems to clear after the drinks.
The hunger thing is weird, I don't feel particularly hungry but I can eat and really enjoy it. I feel like sometimes I still have an urge to overeat at times but I now feel a bit of headspace to pause and think 'do I really need this?'. Last night I didn't eat after 9pm which is an absolute first for me!!! So it all feels quite subtle at the moment but this was what I wanted. I don't want to be obsessed with eating certain foods, I just want to eat good nutritious tasty food in moderation.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 21/02/2024 11:22

I've received it this morning and did my first injection immediately.

Can't wait for it to start working as I've been really hungry this morning and already given in to 2 bags of crisps and a chocolate muffin!

I'm going to log all my food intake to see what difference it makes to my overall food consumption over the month.

I'm hoping it stops my cravings. I sleep very little so while I'm awake in the night I tend to snack out of boredom or from feeling hungry.

pallyloo · 21/02/2024 11:48

I'm still deciding whether to purchase or not, would anybody mind highlighting when the side effects are worst because I'm worried about work

ObsidianTree · 21/02/2024 12:24

Great update from those taking it so far.

For those recommending electrolytes drinks, what would you suggest?

Also, constipation seems to be an issue so does anyone have any recommendations?

I have magnesium citrate which I use to help with sleep, but heard it might be good for constipation too. Is this true?

I have also read about hair loss so would prefer to make sure I'm eating the right type of things to stop this from happening, is there any recommendations for what to do? I have heard about people having protein shakes/nutrient shakes? Any recommendations for this?

I want to get prepared for when I'm really in the zone and start needing supplements etc!

I took my 1st injection yesterday. I feel OK and my appetite has definitely decreased.

TMI alert- I vomited this morning and brought my dinner up from last night. It's making me not want to eat much, knowing there was undigested food in my system from 14 hours previously. I know that the medication slows gastric emptying but very unpleasant nonetheless!

Didn't manage anything for breakfast and have had a slice of toast for lunch. Food doesn't interest me and makes me feel slightly sick. Also having sulphur burps. Yuck! Hoping this will be worth it!

greyduvetcover · 21/02/2024 13:23

@TwirlyWitch @FlappyFish thanks for the information, sounds like it would work for me as it would eliminate the snacking and the evening munchies.
I've ordered using a 10% code from Pharmacy2U which came out at £164 and did not need to send any photos or proof. It's been approved so I'm hoping to start this weekend. Mindful that if it makes me feel unwell then I've got the weekend to adjust before I have to go to work

MuthaHubbard · 21/02/2024 17:33

Was hovering over the order button for Wegovy from Asda a couple of weeks ago. I went back to order today and went with the mourjano after seeing it as an option and doing a bit of a Google. Sent photos and approved within minutes so hoping it arrives tomorrow/Friday.

I definitely recognise the 'food noise' comment and really hoping it helps to stop that

When do you reorder? Will they only let you when the four weeks is up or can you order before then? Worried supplies may dry up

Thebaldprimadonna · 21/02/2024 18:13

An encouraging Day One for me. I didn't feel like having breakfast or lunch but had a small latte earlier at work. I ate my first meal just now - falafel wraps with salad and houmous. I ate FAR more slowly than usual and stopped well before I'd finished the meal. I feel nicely full.

I haven't had any urge to snack, which makes a bloomin' change!

No side effects today that I can think of. Hopefully none will result from my evening meal 🙏

FlappyFish · 21/02/2024 18:14

They increase the dose on the whole. You start on 2.5mg and go up. Eli Lilly who manufacture have stated there will be challenge. I think most people still think Ozempic as the go to.

Having read the instructions on the pen 20 times before doing it I’m now concerned I gave myself the entire months dose. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m taking senna at night. I’ve gone the other way now to being very runny, but that’s on me rather than MJ.

Isn't there a risk of malnutrition if eating so little? These drugs reduce the appetite and I've noticed some people across threads saying they are eating less than 1000 calories a day. It's going to be difficult to get all the nutrients needed on so little and so far below most people's tdee.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 21/02/2024 19:20

@MuthaHubbard It says not to re-order until at least 2wks after starting just in case you have side effects.

@FlappyFish I just checked my pen after your last comment and it does look empty! I'm semi worried now 😄

NextPrimeMinister · 21/02/2024 19:53

So annoyed. Despite being at home all day I managed to miss the postman. Grrrr.

I'll pop to the sorting office tomorrow am, so will still inject am as planned. Am worried as I doubt they'll have a fridge to stick it in.

Mine came packed in cool packs and insulation. If yours is similar it will be fine

On the Mounjaro website it says "Mounjaro can last unrefrigerated for up to 21 days. Just make sure the temperature does not get any higher than 86°F (30°C)" so your delivery should be fine 😎

Sorry not a supply challenge!

FlappyFish · 21/02/2024 21:15

@stealtheatingtunnocks same. I did the turn the notches and then depressed. Ugh. I will pull it out tm and see.

for anyone starting then, the pen is confusing! At least to me feeble brain. You have to prime the load and then fully pull up. It seems. But then on the injection part it says pull all the way up.

For details on constipation. I’m eating less. In used to going to the loo in the morning early. I took senna and it clearly cleaned me out a tad.

Nutrients? I’m not worried. I’m eating everything I used to. Lots of salad. Protein. Carbs. I’m just not eating the load of crap that followed after.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 21/02/2024 22:03

Im not worried about nutrients either. I’ve been overly fed for 30
years, I am sure that not having some
macronutrients for a few months will
be ok.

NextPrimeMinister · 21/02/2024 22:11

Thanks @Thebaldprimadonna and @testingtesting1234567 . That's made me feel better.

I've now transferred my worry onto using the pen incorrectly.......

Slow and steady, I read the instructions a few times. Was a bit alarmed at how far you need to wind the pen out as it were, but double checked and it was right- you will be ok.

I jabbed this morning and not really felt anything today! still quite normal level of hunger too.. interested to see what tomorrow brings

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 22/02/2024 02:14

@testingtesting1234567 I started this morning too and have eaten more than normal so really interested to see when (if) the cravings reduce.

About 1am I started feeling weird. It's now 2am and I feel awful. Can't put my finger on exactly where the pains are coming from and I feel like I might start being sick. Hopefully it will pass if I manage to get some sleep.

MuthaHubbard · 22/02/2024 06:25

@PissedOffNeighbour22 oh no, hope that passed and you got some sleep

Oh this doesn’t sound fun, probably within the limits of what we may expect but not fun!

did your night get better?

FlappyFish · 22/02/2024 07:48

Hope you feel better this morning @PissedOffNeighbour22 I did join a couple of groups on Facebook and it seems there can be a whole range of side effects. I think I’ve just been lucky.

@testingtesting1234567 how are you feeling today so far? It really does seem to be different for everyone.
