I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

@PissedOffNeighbour22 I hope you're feeling better today, nausea is a listed common side effect.
One week today and yesterday I was a little more hungry than the other days. Just took my 2nd dose.

week 1 - 5.1 pounds

Really happy with this! I’ve averaged about 950 kcal a day, I’ve tracked everything that’s passed my lips and I’m focusing on mainly healthy non processed foods, I’ve had a couple of biscuits and packets of crisps when I’ve fancied them but its been basically because of the MJ killing the food noise in my head and a lack of hunger and best of all no night time sugar binges!
Onwards and downwards folks!

MuthaHubbard · 22/02/2024 08:52

Thanks for that update @TwirlyWitch - it's actually good to know average cals consumed also and a good loss for first week.

I am actually looking forward to this now - I lost a good amount of weight a few years back and I realise now that a big part of that was the willpower I had that seemed to help reduce the food noise massively. I can't seem to get that back so hopefully this will help.

Buffypaws · 22/02/2024 09:02

I’m still confused about whether people are overdosing or not…

has anyone yet had their first Mounjaro after switching from a higher dose of Wegovy? bit worried now as my appetite seems quite suppressed at 1.7 and the low Mounjaro might undo all the progress

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 22/02/2024 09:10

I still feel awful. I've been up most of the night as my son is ill, but I'm in so much pain I couldn't lift him out of his cot. I'm also really hungry 😕.

At least I'm off work until Monday to deal with side effects. Unfortunately it's my DD birthday today so unless I start feeling better, we won't be going out as planned. I certainly won't be crawling around soft play this afternoon! And fingers crossed I won't fancy any cake.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 22/02/2024 09:14

@TwirlyWitch That's excellent progress. I can't imagine only eating 950 cals a day so that's amazing you're managing that. Sounds like you have a lot more willpower than me. I'm really going to struggle to eat healthily.

TwirlyWitch · 22/02/2024 09:43

@PissedOffNeighbour22 oh no what a day to be feeling ill :( I hope your daughter has a lovely birthday.

I can’t manage eating 950 usually either! The amount of times I’ve started diets to cave in after 2 days is frankly embarrassing. My eating since stopping Wegovy was appalling, binging every day and nearly 3 stone on in 5 months, this medication seems to be the only way to control my eating, it’s like a switch goes in my brain and food no longer controls me.
@Buffypaws I was on Ozempic and Wegovy for a year but had a big gap between starting MJ, so it might be best if it’s working for you to stick to Wegovy?

stealtheatingtunnocks · 22/02/2024 11:59

I now understand what “food noise” means. I couldn’t have told you I had it, but 3 days in and I have not mindlessly put a single thing in my gob.

its witchcraft

Btrsun10 · 22/02/2024 12:43

I'd a terrible time with Ozempic last year. Did not lose anything and just felt so sick and could not sleep. I came off it after 2 months and zero lbs lost.
I'd love to try Mounjaro. Can the dosage be manipulated using the click method? Or is the pen completely different?
TIA

wizzywig · 22/02/2024 12:59

I think the pain is becuase your food digestion slows down so much that it's now struggling with the amount of food that's being eatebmn

Thebaldprimadonna · 22/02/2024 13:18

Day two here and freaked out (in a good way) with the current changes to my brain. I just did a supermarket shop and found none of my usual snacky foods appealing in any way.

My daughter (who is chronically ill and struggles to keep her weight up) got some cookies and I know that I will be able to ignore them, which seems miraculous. I got some soup, which is all I fancy. The thought of rich food makes me feel ill.

I am being lucky and don't appear to have any side effects at the minute.

My dog is at the vets and I am really worried about her. Usually I would be comfort eating all day 😳

Agreed!

testingtesting1234567 · 22/02/2024 13:28

No really side effects here.. I can’t work out if my hunger is changed yet or not. I’m being cautious as I know normal foods might make me have a bad reaction- so end result is the same, I’ve cut right back.
I didn’t sleep brilliantly which is annoying.

I think I am still hungry you know.. not got the hang of what to aim to eat yet.

Will keep checking in on all. Good to hear everyone’s experiences

Sorry to hear that you have been in pain. I haven't felt great at night but I'm making a big effort to drink more and have an electrolyte drink before bed as I'm still getting the tingly achey legs.

I'm not overeating at present which is great, but I still feel hungry at times and can eat. It feels like something is happening but it's quite subtle. I'm on day 4 now so it will be interesting to see how that changes at the weekend.

I'm sure this is made by the same company eli lilly who use to do the Trulicity pens - so its a better class of pen in my opinion with needle preloaded 🙂

Thanks for replying Guttedme.
Sounds good that it is preloaded but also a shame that the click method cant be used to save money.

My delivery finally arrived this afternoon (after being denied it when I went to pick it up). Going to wait until tomorrow morning to inject. It's safely hidden in the salad drawer.

Hope those feeling early side effects have felt better today.

Buffypaws · 22/02/2024 19:27

I am def going to change to Mounjaro. I’m not saying Wegovy does nothing. But I did just have a McDonald’s.

i want to lose my food noise.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 22/02/2024 20:34

The pain started to subside this afternoon but still no change to my appetite. I've been really hungry all day. I've consciously eaten less but still gave in to hotdog and chips when we took the kids to ikea ☹️

wizzywig · 22/02/2024 22:55

@PissedOffNeighbour22 so pleased the pain has reduced.

ItsFunToBeAVampire · 22/02/2024 23:11

I've just read the whole thread and it's convinced me to order. I've been thinking about it for a while, my eating is out of control right now, and what was said about 'food noise' really resonated.

Has anyone used Bolt Pharmacy?
I found a list of places to buy it on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/Mounjaro/comments/1atyh8v/uk_prices_for_mounjaro_25mg_and_5mg_in_stock_now/) and Bolt came in cheapest.

I'll update if the delivery all goes smoothly.

I’ve used them. They’ve been great to be fair. Quick to answer questions and quick to deliver.

I've just made the switch and I actually think it’s working too well. I just can’t enjoy eating anything at all with mounjaro. Atleast with Wegovy there was still some pleasure in food.

bblondemoment · 23/02/2024 07:37

Hi , I took delivery of my pen Wednesday and done my first injection that night, no side effects apart from a headache ( but that may just be a coincidence)
I can't really describe this apart from I don't feel tummy full rather upper chest full as if I'm waiting to digest food ? Has anyone else had this feeling?
What is great though is that I have no willpower and if someone placed my favourite treat in front of me I'd pass , it's like food holds no interest or joy?

Glad to hear things are going well. I'm still getting pleasure in food but, yes, I am not really interested in it.

Another positive is that I seem to be waking up much more easily. I'll normally wake up after 8am without an alarm but I have woken up at 6.30am feeling good for the past three mornings. I wonder if that's because my glucose is being dealt with better? It feels good whatever the reason.

Claloulat · 23/02/2024 10:20

@Thebaldprimadonna that's great! I'm not a morning person at all so I'd love to wake up easier.

So I took my 1st dose on Tuesday. Side effects are reducing. I planned to weigh myself on Monday but did it this morning. 4lbs down! Must be water weight but still good to see the scale go down so quickly. I'm a shortie with pcos so I usually only lose 1lb a week if I'm very strict with myself!

FlappyFish · 23/02/2024 10:21

@bblondemoment i think that describes it well and it’s very hard to describe. Food just has no interest at all.

I’m resisting doing my first weigh in post. I have always been a daily weightier. Not that it did any good. I know it’s working.

Sod it. When I ordered a week ago today I was 14.1. I am now 13.9.
