I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

@ObsidianTree I did Ozempic (wegovy) for a year and lost 5 stone but it stopped working at 1.5mg and nearly 3 stone has crept back on since last summer after an operation and a lot of comfort eating 😳 so I need to do something now. Really hoping this works! I personally would finish the Wegovy as you say it isn’t cheap. How long have you been taking it for?

ticktock19 · 19/02/2024 09:09

Just been approved and waiting for mine to be arrive now. Hope everyone has great success

stealtheatingtunnocks · 19/02/2024 09:16

So, salad drawer hiders…why do you think we want to hide it?

im ashamed of myself, for the fatness I always have been. I have failed to lose weight and I’m not convinced this will work when nothing else has. I don’t want to look like I am wasting (more) money on diet attempts.

and it’s cheating. I can man, it’s not, it’s medication to address a 30 year health issue…but it’s cheating.

Good luck with taking murnjaro :) I hope it works well for you.

I've only taken Wegovy for a few weeks. On the 0.25ml dose. If I had decided to look into it a week later I could have picked murnjaro! So decided to give murnjaro a go as I'm pretty much at the start, but already had the Wegovy pen and had 1 dose. Now had 2 doses, so will finish that first I think!

It’s complicated for me… tbh he knew when I was on Saxenda. But I gained all the weight back so now I’m really keeping it to myself. Trying to be low key. So similar? But also I’m not in a place where I want to really share anything with my DP 😂

ObsidianTree · 19/02/2024 09:30

I did tell my husband about it. It's a lot of money to be gone from budget every month and not notice. He supports me doing it so glad I ended up telling him. Haven't told any other family and will be keeping it a secret from everyone else. I feel some of my family will be judgy so would rather not tell people.

I have an underactive thyroid which makes it difficult to lose weight anyway, so if this medication cancels out the effects of my thyroid problems, then I feel I deserve this advantage!

If you can get away with him not noticing then go for it! 🤣

I'm wondering about changing I'm on wegovy 1.7 mgs
Height-5'2
SW 13stones10pounds
CE- 9stones10
I have just squeezed into a normal BMI but waist measurement is still huge and I am carrying a lot of abdominal fat.
The wegovy has been marvellous for me but I'm stuck at this weight now and despite lowering calories and upping exercise nothing is shifting.
I'm thinking I may have trouble getting it because my BMI is now ok?
I get my Wegovy from Boots which I like as it means I can collect it in the shop but they clearly advise against changing from one drug to another.
I've still got three doses of 2.7 wegovy left so may just see how you people get on . Good luck to you all.

Congratulations on your weight loss so far.

It does sound tricky to switch as they might not let you try it as your BMI is normal. Also if you were to switch you'd probably have to start on the low does of 2.5 and build it up again. Maybe going up to the 2.4 dose of Wegovy might work for you?

Good luck whatever you decide ☺️

I took my first dose this morning in my thigh. I feel nauseous really easily and heard the thigh can be better for some people in terms of side effects. Feel a bit headachy but ok so far. How is everyone else feeling? I'm feeling quite excited and positive overall Smile

Just been approved and waiting for mine to be arrive now. Hope everyone has great success

How long did it take from you sending in your photos to being approved?

I was hoping mine would have been prescribed today but I've not heard anything yet.

MaggieFS · 19/02/2024 14:57

I know I could google but... what is it and why is it better/preferablt than Wegovy?

ticktock19 · 19/02/2024 15:10

@PissedOffNeighbour22 I went with Pharmacy2U and I wasn't asked for any photos. The dr did email me and ask about my past history with diets etc but no pics. I filled in the questionnaire on Friday and it's been dispatched today.

Buffypaws · 19/02/2024 15:11

Mine was approved about three hours after I sent photos.
I don’t really understand the difference but Mounjaro targets GIP as well as GLP… sensors? Receptors? Anyway two things, Wegovy targets one. And Mounjaro saw greater WL over the full trial.

MaggieFS · 19/02/2024 14:57

It's apparently got two active ingredients - the GLP 1 that is in semaglutide (Ozempic and WeGovy) and then another so is meant to increase results - not hugely but I think by about 5% more in comparison to WeGovy

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 19/02/2024 15:30

Thanks @ticktock19. Sorry I assumed you'd used asda as a lot on here seem to have done.
I was hoping it would have been dispatched today for me to start tomorrow as I'm off work at the end of the week and would have been ideal to start then for any side effects to appear.

Good luck with your weight loss!

AttaThat · 19/02/2024 15:33

I’m following with interest. I did Wegovy for several months, but reached the point where the side effects were too much for me with not much appetite suppressant. I had one glorious week where it worked and now I want that feeling back! So I’ll be interested to hear how those who had side effects on wegovy get on on Mounjaro.

Honestly, if losing weight were easy there wouldn’t be an obesity crisis. I don’t know you but I can guarantee you’ve put your all in to losing weight over and over and over, because we all have! It just doesn’t work for a lot of people!

The week wegovy did work for me really underlined the point of it for me. I would eat a small portion, and feel full. That’s it! That’s what I should feel like! Not normal me who could eat a three course meal out and be straight in the snack box once home.

Have you heard anything yet? They usually get back within 24hrs. Maybe phone them up if you haven't heard anything?

They usually ask for photos before approving, so maybe have some photos ready when they do reply. They asked for a photo of you standing on scales and a full body shot. This was Asda

Following with much interest!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 19/02/2024 17:50

@ObsidianTree No nothing yet. I'd read on here about the photos so I had them ready and sent them straight through first thing yesterday when they asked.
Hopefully they will contact me tomorrow.

Oh well, it's another day to eat badly without feeling guilty 😄.

wizzywig · 19/02/2024 17:55

How much are you all paying for it? Can we collect points if we have an asda card?

NextPrimeMinister · 19/02/2024 18:00

@PissedOffNeighbour22 I had to resend my photos this morning, as the ones I sent on Sat were not showing online. I'd check your account has sent them (assuming you used Asda). I have just had an email to say mine is approved and due for delivery Weds. Very excited.

2kidsintow · 19/02/2024 18:08

OP, I wouldn't be expecting much of a result on 0.25 of Weygovy. It's only a titration dose. 1mg was the expected therapeutic dose for Ozempic and although some lucky people have some results on lower than that, the first few doses are kept low to hopefully limit side effects rather than because they are working levels.
