BBC Weather - Hurricane force winds across UK

This came as a bit of a surprise this morning! I've been outside and it's definitely a bit drizzly but no wind to speak of. I think someone at BBCW has pressed the wrong button 😆

Carol on the BBC 1 weather has just said it's a glitch and they are working to resolve it. So no hurricane winds forecasted. Hopefully stays that way, as my username says!

4,256 wind speed in South West London. I could probably smash my PB if I run in the right direction.

23,979 mph here in south east London, all through until 1 am Saturday when it suddenly drops to 185mp. That will seem absolutely gentle in comparison. I did think about going out to get my tortoise in, but I doubt anything in the town will be left standing at that wind speed 🤣

They've just mentioned it on the BBC Breakfast news and yes,it's a glitch in the system!

23,658mph here in Scotland. We’re used to windy weather so that’s just a light breeze for us. I’ve double pegged the washing just to be safe. I’d be mortified if the guy next door had to pass my knickers with the reinforced gusset back over the fence.

Bit concerned about the all day sunshine combined with the 23,658mph winds. I’ve run out of factor 50 after the long hot summer we’ve had. 🌞

BBC website says they’re having a problem with their weather data - no hurricane force winds.
They are ‘working to fix the problem’.

I'm in that path, but the dog still needs a walk!

Nottingham at least will have an added problem tomorrow with temperature over 400 degrees!

I got up early to put the washing machine on and came back to bed with a cuppa. It is a lovely calm morning with blue sky and the plan is to peg out the washing and then go for a walk along the prom. I hope we don't end up in The Mersey!

Ha! Just checked and here in Belfast we have bright sunshine and hurricane force winds of 15336mph. Bit of cloud tomorrow, but no let up with those winds. I always think a combination of sun and wind is what gets the washing dried, so just heading out to peg it up now. Wish me luck🤣🤣

I'm just going to stick mine on the end of a very long very strong lead and let her out the window she's never flown before it willake a pleasant change from a run in the park

I think you have to be a bit more specific than searching for a county. Enter a town or city instead.

Though to be fair , the first thing I saw when I picked up the iPad was a notification from BBC Weather saying there was a mistake and don’t expect hurricane force winds
