I am a bit concerned about this one. Widespread gusts to 60mph, but reaching 80mph in parts of the NE. Winds from a NW direction will bring down more trees than you would expect for this level of gusts as it is an unusual direction.

I think the storm is advancing a little slower then expected. I can't be certain though.

Something keeps banging on the windows upstairs. It's too dark and vision is bad to see what it is. Maybe a loose cable.

@Justmuddlingalong oh no, are you ok? Top neighbour you are!

WeeFae · 26/11/2021 20:06

I'm coastal Angus, I went out an hour ago and couldn't make it across the road, gusts were too strong to walk against!

Unreasonabubble · 26/11/2021 20:07

@Heffapotamus - WOW!

I was taking precautions today. I took the gazebo roof off and the curtains. Packed all the furniture up and covered them with their winter covers. I live in a wind tunnel so expect the worst. I also weighted down my wheelie bins with large bags of gravel.

Justmuddlingalong · 26/11/2021 20:07

😁 Aye, I'm fine. I can hear the bins rattling about their garden again. I've decided to allow them their freedom.

WeeFae · 26/11/2021 20:07

All buses, taxis and takeaway deliveries are suspended in my town.

Dundee...
Holy shit...

Sleet here and very windy - Yorkshire Dales. All our local NT places have announced that they're closed tomorrow.

Best of British to those further north 🤞🏻 for as little damage/disruption as possible.

ReginaaPhalange · 26/11/2021 20:12

Central Scotland - our shed was shunted! Heard the big scrape of metal and looked out and saw the shed moving!!! Scary!

I went for a bath a wee while ago, came down and thought it was all done, suspiciously quiet. Nope, walked into the shared lane to check the gate and pretty much for my hair blown dried.

Db in East Fife has had a power cut for 2 hours now.

OnlyTheTitosaurusOfTheIceberg · 26/11/2021 20:13

South Northumberland here and it’s blowing an absolute hooley. Just heard a neighbour’s roof tile smash somewhere and a bin has just gone over - not sure if it’s ours or next door’s and I’m not going out to find out!

dementedma · 26/11/2021 20:21

Wild and windy in Fife. Friends in Balmerino have no power

colouringindoors · 26/11/2021 20:21

Thinking of everyone in the Red Zone - stay safe!

thanks OYBBK!

DementedPanda · 26/11/2021 20:22

@OnlyTheTitosaurusOfTheIceberg we are South Northumberland too. Its getting scary out there. Sounds like the windows are going to blow in x

dementedma · 26/11/2021 20:26

Forgot to bring our bin in. God knows where it is now

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/11/2021 20:44

Ignore any damage in the red area, no matter how tempting to look, stay indoors.

DementedPanda · 26/11/2021 20:49

My neighbour has brought all the animals inside the house... pigs, goats etc 🤣

ListenLinda · 26/11/2021 20:52

Just seen a sky news report that a man has lost his life. Such terrible news - stay inside and stay safe as you can folks in the red zone!
I’m in West Yorks and can hear the wind howling through the garden and we are only under a yellow warning.

@DillonPanthersTexas

I thought I had stumbled onto the baby names forum.

I love your neighbour.

That's lovely!
LaPufalina · 26/11/2021 20:59

My DD's pony lives out and I've been itching to drive to get him. My DH would be unimpressed with me driving a horsebox in this wind though and even less to have a visitor in the front room! (Only yellow warning here)

ZealAndArdour · 26/11/2021 21:00

I’m in Nottinghamshire and we definitely have some nasty sounding wind and rain outside. I’m due to track off to work at the hospital at 11.30pm, don’t fancy it really. Guess I better put a proper coat on.
