I am a bit concerned about this one. Widespread gusts to 60mph, but reaching 80mph in parts of the NE. Winds from a NW direction will bring down more trees than you would expect for this level of gusts as it is an unusual direction.

Unbelievably we've had THREE calls from northern powergrid since we came back on to check up on us. That's more contact than we managed the whole time we were off. It seems daft that these folk weren't aware we'd come back on so they could concentrate on those still without.

The forecast for the week is making me twitchy. I dont want another powercut any time soon.

Reading in the press people are going to open up fireplaces again just to have some heat in case of future problems
