Snow watch

Might as well get going on this thread, though it is rather a tease at the moment.

The ECMWF model is hinting at the possibility of some much colder weather next week, perhaps bringing some snow to Scottish hills. BUT the met office are still going for quite a wild and wet affair instead.
The ECMWF shows quite an interesting scenario really.

And its snowing in Manchester! Been on and off all morning, too wet to lie properly, but it seems to have caught people off guard - there have been several RTA's, and the M60 and M67 were closed due to accidents.

Woke up to a smattering of lying snow on the ground this morning .
I don't recall snow this late in Manchester. Did it breach the Snow Shield just by arriving too late for winter?

This was the scene I woke up to. Very Spring-like.

Snow for me! And many others this morning from the look of twitter. That was a surprise!

Sleet as I left for work at 07:30, turned quickly to snow which is now starting to settle.

I think this might be the latest snow watch I've ever done. GFS is quite keen to bring snow into southern Wales and perhaps the southern Midlands on Thursday. It shows very cold temperatures for May.

Im not a regular on this thread but just clicked as was amazed to see it trending on 01/05! Incredible.

I know, it's quite crazy.

I was just thinking how weird it is to see this still ticking over.
