Might as well get going on this thread, though it is rather a tease at the moment.

The ECMWF model is hinting at the possibility of some much colder weather next week, perhaps bringing some snow to Scottish hills. BUT the met office are still going for quite a wild and wet affair instead.
The ECMWF shows quite an interesting scenario really.

Can you get bored of snow? Asking for a friend...

More tonight, wouldn't be so bad if it melted in the day!

BiddyPop · 12/02/2021 10:11

Another non-snow day in Dublin. It does seem like all that came off the Atlantic yesterday got dumped on the west and fizzled out even before the Dublin mountains. (While all that had been coming east from the UK earlier in the week fizzled out over Wales or the Irish Sea). And warmer - there's no ice in the bucket in the garden this morning, but there is still a significant wind.

gingercat02 · 12/02/2021 10:17

More snow on the NE coast overnight. Delighted, I lurve snow

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 13/02/2021 10:19

Tiny little catchy snow here in Belfast.

It's really quite amazing to watch how quickly this type sets in and builds up.

DrunkenKoala · 14/02/2021 18:14

Starting to thaw here in Kent. It’s about 3 degrees outside and forecast to get up to about 7 with rain in the early hours. I expect most of it will have washed away by morning. There is rain forecast here for most of next week, was hoping for a lot of sunshine to help dry everywhere out.

scrappydappydoo · 18/02/2021 19:56

Is there any chance that the extreme weather that the US is experiencing will head over here?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/02/2021 20:01

That's not how weather systems work, but I can see where people get the idea from. But there are some hints that winter will return during the second half of February.

Ah you see all this weather forecasting is beyond me - I’m more excited puppy in the snow.. Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/02/2021 07:37

Don't worry, sometimes it is beyond me too. Grin

@OhYouBadBadKitten
Possible snow/ice next week?
WDYT?

TheBlessedCheesemaker · 02/04/2021 09:26

Didn’t think I’d be checking into this thread again.... looks pretty rubbish. Not sure Christ would rise again in this weather.

GloriaSmud · 02/04/2021 11:14

LOL TheBlessedCheesemaker
It is looking like a cold week ahead with wintry showers (longer spells of snow, especially in the north/Scotland) throughout the week.

Some thoughts from Netweather.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/04/2021 23:23

There's the possibility of snow showers in the SE and EA on Monday morning. Not sure whether to laugh or not!

Snowing here in Aberdeenshire. Not massively happy.

GloriaSmud · 05/04/2021 08:02

Light snow flurries here (Leicester) Temperature's dropped from 5.3C to 2.8C in the last 90 minutes or so.

emummy · 05/04/2021 08:58

Blizzard in Aberdeenshire, visibility down to about 50m outside my window. And I have to walk the dog. Weather app says -2. Joy. We had a couple of inches overnight.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 05/04/2021 09:07

It looks like the Aberdeen area could see heavy snow showers throughout the morning, but perhaps turning more sleety and eventually rainy this afternoon.

emummy · 05/04/2021 09:23

Rain would be good. The snow has flattened all my daffodils.
Although if it then freezes overnight and we get a skating rink tomorrow that would be less fun!

Dementedswan · 05/04/2021 09:26

Snow overnight in the NE, hasn't settled but its freezing cold and icy despite it being sunny.

crankysaurus · 05/04/2021 09:31

Half an inch settled in S Yorks. Don't expect it to last beyond this morning but it's pretty.

Furries · 05/04/2021 10:04

North Essex here. Gorgeous day yesterday. Am now watching a light flurry of snowflakes coming down, doesn’t seem to be settling.

Madness!

nannynick · 05/04/2021 11:59

Light snow/sleet just started in West Surrey. Random passing snow cloud perhaps.
