Waiting for the snow to arrive in Dorset, still have a fair amount from yesterday, hoping the school buses will be able to negotiate the lanes later.

Anyone in East Devon have it yet?

OYBBK photos don't really do the halos justice
DH googled and we should also have looked behind us as with that many halo effects, there may have been more than the obvious in front of us.
Have seen sun dogs, and 22 degree halos, but nothing like today.

I'm not sure what's going to happen in Dartford, some say snow some don't. It'll be an evening looking out of the window!

The bbc shows light snow with us now, but yet we have an amber warning for heavy snow in the Caerphilly area and schools are closing early, so we shall see what we get!

Anyone else in the North Dorset/Somerset border and general area who might have DC at school in the villages... our school is closing at 2pm. It might be worth checking.

gttia you’re right, it’s not clear at all what we will get. I’m a bit south of you and the sun is out and the ice is melting!

It's so cold and the wind is howling around here today. I'm very nervous that the forecasts are wrong and it's going to hit early. Aiming to leave work by 3.30 at the latest as there is only one road out of where I am and if there is a mass exodus of workers at 4pm, it'll be chaotic.

Our evening heavy snow on the Met Office site which turned to light snow this morning has now changed back to heavy snow again in south Surrey. Every time I look it’s changed!

gttia ~ I think 'nowcasting' will be what it comes down to this afternoon/evening. I still don't think any of the weather forecasters have got this band of rain/snow nailed down yet so it might be a question of looking out of the window and judging for yourself how safe it is to do journeys etc.

I think your right, they are doing their very best. I am conscious I have staff working in remote locations today and tmrw. It's exciting and a headache all at the same time!

We have snow predicted from 1pm today to 1pm tomorrow, it's clouded over and became really cold 🥶 I'm in Greater London/Surrey border

I think Peri that you should send those to the BBC weather watchers page or the Met office twitter account. They are just wow! now I'm seeing them on a bigger screen.

Does anyone know if north Essex will be hit badly? On the Essex/Suffolk border, met office keep changing their mind !

Just marking my place on the new thread. No snow in Edinburgh but I couldn't get the car door open this morning and think I'm going to have to give in and put the heating on. yes I'm a tight arse

Quick query- Eldest daughter is furious with me, because I've told her she can't help out at school event this evening (finishes at 8), and should get herself home straight after school (she comes home by train). We are in W.Sussex. Can you please provide some ammo to help me defend myself against accusations of being 'ridiculous' and 'overprotective' (or am I?)

Smurfs how long is her journey? I think it will start around 8ish for your region.

Hoping for snow overnight in NE Hampshire / W Berks border... But the forecast keeps changing! What do you think are the chances? crosses fingers
