I think those hoping for rain may be disappointed. While some may get some thunderstorms this weekend I think many will stay dry.
Nothing showing for the Moors probably for a week at least I think.

BlackeyedSusan · 27/06/2018 07:15

my kitchen has cooled to a chillly 24 from yesterdays evening cooled to 28.

living room cooled to 30 yesterday eveing.

GloriaSmud · 27/06/2018 07:46

It's almost chilly here (Leicester) this morning ~ 12.7C and overcast at the moment.

lovelilies · 27/06/2018 07:54

Well it's crap here in Scarborough, sea fret and about 13 degrees 😭😭

beenrumbled · 27/06/2018 08:40

Gloria I can see that fire on the way to work, and this morning when we got up we can smell the fire , and can see smoke in the air as we look up our street, even though we are a good few miles from it. My eyes are nipping, and my chest is tight, even this far away.

I shudder to think what it's like closer to it.

DH is reluctant to open the windows toga because of the smell,

WhoKnowsWhereTheW1neGoes · 27/06/2018 08:50

I went out at about 6.30 and it was lovely and cool then, turning very hot again now though Sad.

beenrumbled · 27/06/2018 08:53

Still 27 in the house this morning!

Sunny here (above the smoke haze)

GloriaSmud · 27/06/2018 10:45

beenrumbled ~ the conditions nearby must be awful.

Today's thoughts from netweather. As OYBBK has mentioned, storms/rain isn't a certainty this weekend.

Sun has broken through here, temperature 21C. DD1 and I have just been to the allotment to do some watering again. We weren't the only ones doing that job!

Today's Outlook from the metoffice...

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Mostly dry, sunny and very warm, but turning somewhat fresher and cloudier in the north and east. Humid in the south through the weekend with a risk of thundery showers.

UK Outlook for Sunday 1 Jul 2018 to Tuesday 10 Jul 2018:
Continued dry and sunny weather for many central and northern parts at first, although it may be cloudier with a chance of rain or showers at times in the far north of Scotland. There is also an increasing risk of thundery showers in the south and southwest. Widely very warm, but perhaps cooler than of late in the northeast. During the first week of July there is an increasing chance of cloud and outbreaks of rain along with stronger winds in northwestern parts of the UK whilst there may be showers or thunderstorms elsewhere which will push in from the south. It is expected to be cooler in the far northwest and elsewhere temperatures are also likely to gradually decline but remain above average.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 11 Jul 2018 to Wednesday 25 Jul 2018:
The most likely scenario is that we will see a good deal of dry and settled weather across many parts of the UK through much of July with very warm or hot temperatures likely at times. However, there are some indications that in the north and west, more changeable conditions could bring cloudier skies, and possibly some wet and windy weather at times. There may also be some interludes of more unsettled, cooler conditions bringing some outbreaks of rain or showers across the rest of the UK, however these will be short lived with dry and fine weather likely for most of the time.

LighthouseSouth · 27/06/2018 11:16

it's safe to say the outlook for London is just very hot and humid for the foreseeable, I guess?

Perihelion · 27/06/2018 11:21

Unsettled weather in the NW? That'll be where and when we're off on holiday. It's the only time I really want sun, as it keeps the midges at bay and stop me getting hypothermia from being in the sea.

Woke up to haar this morning in Edinburgh, but it's all burnt away now. And the pollen is mental Sad

LighthouseSouth · 27/06/2018 11:35

we've got some time off in July and I would head anywhere that's got a good chance of not being boiling hot, but even Edinburgh seems very hot.

Highlands of Scotland perhaps?

LapdanceShoeshine · 27/06/2018 11:48

Lighthouse

Anywhere on the east coast looks promising at the moment (maybe not so much later on, but there’s always a good chance of that misty stuff coming in off the North Sea)

And Edinburgh is sort of coastal...? (Firthy - is that a thing?)

hellokittymania · 27/06/2018 11:56

Yes please! Yes please! Yes please! It almost feels like Vietnam, almost.

Perihelion · 27/06/2018 14:32

Lighthouse Edinburgh is often a wee bit cooler than further inland. It is at the moment, and is going down to 14C on Friday apparently Grin

NW Highlands, by July starts having more rain and less sun usually. Although twice in the last 10 years my holidays have be hot with blazing sun.......last year was pretty cold and wet.

LighthouseSouth · 27/06/2018 20:28

do you know, I might get off my arse this year and actually do a last minute booking for Edinburgh...I keep saying it but then am too tight to spend the money. But it looks lovely and I think the general outlook for July is very hot in the South East.

Perihelion · 27/06/2018 23:34

Edinburgh today reached 21C, while Aviemore was 31C Shock
Edinburgh is fab. (Quite shite for snow most winters......) It's the only city I could now live in.
July will be busy, but not the madness of August and the festival.

Bookridden · 28/06/2018 08:04

This is now my most checked part of MN. Is there really no end in sight to this weather? Am in Bristol Angry

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/06/2018 08:08

Apart from the potential odd thunderstorm and maybe occasional cooler day this looks to continue for the foreseeable.

beenrumbled · 28/06/2018 08:09

Another hot and sticky night here in Manchester.

We can still smell the smoke from the hill fire, but there doesn't seem to be a smoke haze here at the moment.

I'm stressing as DD has her D of E practise expedition. She is going to be so hot!

I can't remember the last time we had such a dry hot May and June (other than 76). When will the drought warnings start?

Delatron · 28/06/2018 08:11

Ooh lovely. Though I do appreciate the gardens need some rain. Starts off quite cool and overcast here in the mornings (bucks) then the sun breaks through mid morning. Yesterday was definitely a bit cooler here and less humid. Think about 26/27 versus the 29 of Tuesday. Despite the forecast saying the same every day.

Most unusual for these settled and warm conditions to persist. I wonder if any June records will be broken. Think we had one weekend where it was cool and rainy but it's been nice apart from that.

Delatron · 28/06/2018 08:13

Most unusual it's warmer in NW than SE. Hope the fire abates soon and the showers forecast for the weekend hit that area.

WhoKnowsWhereTheW1neGoes · 28/06/2018 08:31

It was nice and breezy here yesterday (SE England) so didn't feel too hot after all. Today we have cloud so far, and it is lovely and cool, unfortunately I think it's going to get hot again later though. Really, really want some decent rain.

GloriaSmud · 28/06/2018 08:51

And the heat carries on...
Today's thoughts from Netweather.
TheWeatherOutlook think that the heat could last into next week.

ChocoholicsAsylum · 28/06/2018 08:57

Yes! Bring it! I live for this weather! Although I am currently stuck in hospital and am not happy 1 bit about it!
