Just back from camping in the lakes.... Lush green grass there and it rained every day for most of the day! When we left it had been raining solidly for 16 hrs!

I was enjoying the cooler weather, far better to sleep and work.

It has been just about the best summer we have ever had! :)

Those in the SE should see some relief in temps mid week next week.

OBBYK I've got one website - weatheroutlook - saying it will go back up to 27 on Friday and Saturday next week.

all others are saying reduced temps from Wednesday. What do you think please?

I think it's going to cool down Wednesday then temps remain pleasant in the south mid to low 20s. Not much rain showing.

Looks cooler next week which is a bit annoying as we are away at a caravan on the south coast and the kids will want to use the pool. Hopefully it will get to early twenties instead of teens temp wise though. It's a bit sweaty at the moment. Had a lovely long weekend camping and barely needed a duvet cover and certainly no PJs at night!

That's from the met office contingency planners forecast. It's done on categorising the likelihood of temperatures and rainfall varying by the norm and by how much. So what they actually said it is more likely to be warmer and drier than average than any other category.

So it doesn't mean that we are likely to stay superheated, it means that the balance of probabilities lie in it being warmer and drier than it usually is for that time of year.

The forecasts I’ve seen show rain on Saturday, cloudy Sunday and Monday then cloudy/sunny and dry for the rest of the week. Going to be cooler though - but then we haven’t been unreasonably hot as it’s been fairly breezy

We keep getting forecast rain that doesn’t materialise, or it’s really localised - pissing with rain at work, hot and sunny 2 miles down the road at home
