Omg! Possibly my first birthday ever where it doesn't piss it down all day! (28th June)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/06/2018 09:01

Even dd woke up too early because it was so hot in her bedroom this morning and given her knackeredness and how late she went to bed, it says something.

Lorddenning1 · 23/06/2018 09:11

I think this is possibly the most British thread on here at the moment Grin

CantankerousCamel · 23/06/2018 09:17

Yes!! So up for this

Furrycushion · 23/06/2018 09:20

I'm finding it lovely & cool overnight & in the morning at the moment. If that lasts I will enjoy the heatwave.

tigercub50 · 23/06/2018 09:22

Lol at starry!!

EnFlique · 23/06/2018 09:24

@BirthdayKake we have the same birthday 🎂

keyboardjellyfish · 23/06/2018 09:27

Meant to be gorgeous up in Glasgow too! Perfect timing as I have my mum's dog for a few days. Four days straight of BBQs and snoozing in the park it is then Smile

Gingerninj · 23/06/2018 09:37

I'm going on a last minute trip somewhere sunnier then

Have you seen the weather forecast for next week?!
BirthdayKake · 23/06/2018 10:05

Ooh that's cool EnFlique! Perfect day to be born

TopBitchoftheWitches · 23/06/2018 10:15

Maximum for my area is 29 atm.

I suppose I should sort the garden out today then as it will be a little cooler than next weekend Grin

GloriaSmud · 23/06/2018 10:24

Lorddenning1 ~ Grin
Our warmest day is supposed to be Thursday (26C) here (Leicester) I forecast lots of watering at the allotment!

Netweather's thoughts for the weekend/the week ahead. Noting what they say here ~ "It's very dry though, and with the sun at it's strongest at this time of year, we could well be heading for a drought situation before the end of the month."

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/06/2018 11:17

I think we may end up with a drought too, models are split for early July, there is potential for this to continue.

Breakfast in the garden was lovely this morning :) I love summer!

magimedi · 23/06/2018 12:10

I am a happy bunny! I love good weather.

What could be more lovely than a hot June British day.

Just hope it stays good for Wimbledon. Tennis

magimedi · 23/06/2018 12:13

And the sea is warming up - 15.9C today. When it gets to 17C I'll be in.

ItsTheGloaming · 23/06/2018 12:22

Thank the lord for the air conditioning in my classroom.

prampushingdownthehighst · 23/06/2018 12:24

Fantastic news...We have such long winters in this country at times.
Sorry for the pregnant ladies....I carried through the summer of 1995 so you have my sympathy Flowers

DesertIslandPenguin · 23/06/2018 13:59

I have bought extra ice, taken my summer dresses out of hibernation and am aiming to have all my housework done by 11 so that I can collapse under the ceiling fan for the rest of the day! We had a heatwave in 2006 when I was very pregnant with DS. I spent the summer sitting in a paddling pool with DH tipping a few ice cubes in every so often. It was vile. My sympathies to everyone who is pregnant this summer!!

IrenetheQuaint · 23/06/2018 14:02

I'm on holiday near Berwick on Tweed next week but the weather is looking a bit meh. Is that right, OYBBK?

TokyoSushi · 23/06/2018 15:19

Still a bit of a chilly breeze here but it looks like the real warming up starts tomorrow! Just trying to plan what to wear for work for the week!

Thank God!!!! Summer at last. Love it. Proper sweating on long runs and my boss goes home with “migraine from the heat”. Off you fuck then.

I love summer. Light and warm early and late. Washing dry in no time. Running, cycling, hiking, wild swimming. Minimal clothes and no coat. Love it.

Di11y · 23/06/2018 15:26

I'm on mat leave, due back in Sept and persuaded dh to take an impromptu week off 😎

Kursk · 23/06/2018 15:30

Love summer! waking up at 5:30, breakfast outside, BBQ every night.

MrSlant · 23/06/2018 15:32

I'm going to be in hospital most of the week. To say I feel a bit glum is an understatement.

I've bought some mini fans, cans of wildly expensive water spray and some small garden misters to do my best to keep cool. The less mature part of me wants to stomp up and down going unfair like a 10 year old.

On the plus side when I get out I will be nauseous and tired and not allowed to swim or do anything interesting. Good oh.

corcaithecat · 23/06/2018 15:45

South west Ireland. Just checked the forecast and it's around 16 degrees here with a max of 23 degrees on Thursday, our hottest day. I was visiting family in London last July and it was late 20's and I couldn't sleep as it was far too hot. I like it pleasantly warm but definitely not hot.
