Thunderstorm watch

To complement the Summer weather thread.

Tomorrow could see some thunderstorms in places across England, but by tomorrow evening, the main area of risk appears to be in the central southern areas (revised forecast from earlier) , where frequent lightning and small hail could form in any storms that evolve.

DS is in Southampton and had texted to say it’s been nonstop there for a while now. There’s a river outside his window and the thunder and lightning has been continuous.

We had a bizarre experience earlier as it sounded exactly like the built in wardrobes in our bedroom had collapsed. As neither us knew that thunder was forecast we dashed up to look, I hope it was thunder after all.

We've got thundery rain and the wind's got up but that's about it here (Leicester)

My family all live in Southampton, wish I was there

South of Leeds and just had some thunder and lightning here!

SE Wales here. No storm as of yet, but got a stinking headache as I always do when there's thunder about. Wouldn't be at all surprised if it starts soon.

We have a storm but it's my bedtime :(

Seems to have passed over or fizzled out here in mid-Hampshire. That was about an hour of almost non-stop lightning and thunder. The biggest storm I've seen in years.

It's been rumbling and flashing all evening here but never overhead, all distant - Surrey/Hants borders.

Storm just passed over here in Leeds - lasted about 15mins in total.

We've seen some amazing lightning photos from round here, somebody got one by the bridge which was stunning.

And here it is. Torrential rain, flashes every few seconds and constant bangs/rumbles. Dogs sleeping, me not so.

It seems to have missed us in Wokingham - I’ve noticed this before, that we get big storms passing east and west of us and we’re in a corridor between, with just a few isolated strikes. The screen shots are from tonight and July 2015 and show a similar pattern, and I’ve seen it at other times too.

Just had a massive thunderstorm here (Heathrow) with lashings of rain!

Thought I'd give this thread a little 'bump' as some could see thundery showers tomorrow as temperatures return to normal.

Whereabouts gloria? Love a good thunderstorm, never seem to get many in London

Might get the odd thundery shower/rumble of thunder later tomorrow and Wednesday, whatthefox. Don't think it's going to be big thunderstorms for you on this occasion, more thundery showers and a gradual cooling down from tomorrow onwards.
Still there's plenty more summer to come so hopefully some decent thunderstorms will come your way then!
