...Anyone else's heart sink at heatwaves?!

Agh! Just looked at the weather app and next week looks like hell! On Tuesday, when we have a big event and I'll be running everywhere and driving for hours, it'll be over 30 Confused

Every bloody heatwave I get sick, moody, and then also don't sleep for weeks. Every time! No idea why. I dread them

... Are there any fellow heat-haters about on Mumsnet who fancy a whine? may well just be me

Supposed to rain today! Brilliant!

Unfortunately it's so sticky I'm having to prise myself off the leather sofa Envy

LoisPuddingLane · 20/07/2016 09:04

I have never moaned about rain. Never. Ever. Unless my shoes have holes but even then not very much.

Maybebabybee · 20/07/2016 09:05

Oh god I'm so miserable. I genuinely think I have SAD in reverse Sad

SunLoather · 20/07/2016 09:16

Ughhhhh. No real sleep. So tired, never felt so run-down before. I do have low blood pressure, maybe that's the only reason.

No - I have NEVER moaned about rain or snow - they genuinely make me sincerely happy inside.

I dunno, it's kind of nice that people are enjoying it. I just wish I was one of them Smile

Yesterday evening my hair looked like I'd just washed it. I hadn't. Other people's hair wasn't stuck to their heads! Some of us aren't made for hot weather.

And I do moan when it's too cold or too wet. I just want it to be about 18 degrees all the time with no humidity. Where can I move to for that???!

NuggetofPurestGreen · 20/07/2016 09:47

Oh and I'm in Ireland where it's not as hot as UK. Think was about 26 yesterday and I couldn't cope.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 20/07/2016 09:47

Also I look like Monica in friends when she goes to Barbados.

LoisPuddingLane · 20/07/2016 09:51

OH ANCIENT STUPID WOMB thank you for choosing today to have a really bloody period. No thank you.

spanky2 · 20/07/2016 10:16

Poor you periods in hot weather are rough.

DerelictMyBalls · 20/07/2016 10:38

Much cooler in London tomorrow, apparently: 24 degrees and cloudy. It will feel like heaven!

Buzzybee51 · 20/07/2016 11:12

I love it! Being allergic to the cold (cold urticaria) give me hot any time!

LoisPuddingLane · 20/07/2016 11:19

OH YOU LOVE IT. GREAT. LET'S HAVE MORE PEOPLE SAYING THEY LOVE IT. DO YOU LOVE IT? DO YOU?

Buzzybee51 · 20/07/2016 11:20

hollinhurst84 - for the exact opposite reasons I like the heat - my arm, from a COOL breeze at the weekend. You can imagine winters for me are pretty unbearable when that is from a breeze in the summer (with a coat on!)

Buzzybee51 · 20/07/2016 11:21

LoisPuddingLane - yes, yes I do, are per message and state of my arm above, due to being cold...

Everyone has different reasons.. This thread in parts has got WAY out of hand in people simply expressing them. Seriously.

bakedappleflavour · 20/07/2016 11:23

Omg, can't you hear lovers go and start your own thread!!

Leave us to moan in peace.

bakedappleflavour · 20/07/2016 11:23

Heat, even.

NicknameUsed · 20/07/2016 11:36

I think there are some valid points up thread. I can totally understand why some people can't cope with the heat. A lot of it depends on personal circumstances.

I love hot weather because I feel the cold easily, I live somewhere that is usually cool, damp and grey, I don't have small children, I have a garden, I drive to work in a car with air con, my office has air-conditioning - usually too fierce so when it is 30 degrees outside I am wearing a cardigan, I don't have red hair and very sensitive skin and (you can flame me if you like) I am not overweight and have small boobs.

Commuting on public transport with no air con, dealing with fractious children, working in a stuffy office and living in a stuffy flat in the middle of the city must be a nightmare in hot weather.

I think, basically, most of us heat lovers just don't have to deal with these issues.

SunLoather · 20/07/2016 11:41

Aw, peace and love guys, peace and love Flowers

Buzzy, that must be awful. Why do bodies do these things?! Ridiculous.

I think even the most heat-loving heat-lovers round these parts are admitting it's, ahem, mildly warm.

God I'd love a garden. I had vague feverish dreams about going out to ours last night, which is odd as we've never had one. Grin

MUCH cooler today. 🙏

LoreleiGilmoreIsMyBFF · 20/07/2016 12:18

Why do I find it so easy to drink G&T's in the heat, and so bloody hard to drink water? Face looks like a bloody sun-dried tomato.

LoisPuddingLane · 20/07/2016 12:21

I've given up trying to drink water, but am having lots of mint or green tea.

SunLoather · 20/07/2016 12:34

God, I've gone intensely light heated and am seeing little white lights everywhere. I just can't go home sick, I've had so many days here and there and appointments for the MCs. Sad

Should I talk to a GP about this or would that be a waste of their resources do you think?

OP posts:
LoreleiGilmoreIsMyBFF · 20/07/2016 12:37

Not if you're feeling unwell. Make an appointment!

nuttymango · 20/07/2016 12:42

I use a damp sheet to sleep under, it's bliss in this weather.
Also, filling the bath with cold water and leaving it does help cool down upstairs.

practy · 20/07/2016 18:46

I am having hot flushes. It is shit in this weather.
