Following on from the Boxing Day snow thread we have weather warnings from the met office for snow down part of the east coast and widespread ice. Around Northampton could also see some snow today. Take care over night and into tomorrow morning.

The theme of rather cold carries on through this week, especially away from western coasts. Some central areas could struggle to get above 0C even in the day time. Some sharp frosts. The next few days look dry and cold, with perhaps some freezing fog, especially over any snow fields. At the moment it looks like things might become milder through Thursday with rain moving in. GFS disagrees with this though and keeps things cold.

GFS then keeps teasing with a possibly dramatic return to school snow wise for some. Its a long way ahead but as ever I will keep you updated. However i may not be always able to answer specific questions due to real life so if you need to know urgently please check out the met office

hyperhops · 28/01/2015 14:45

sewing yes, was very bizarre!

SpottyTeacakes · 28/01/2015 15:05

More snow warnings for the rest of the week. not here thoughAngry

FatJerseyPostXmasSpud · 28/01/2015 15:28

Honestly i don't think it will come to much! This time they predicted it. Last time they didnt we had 4 days of snow and 7ft drifts.

This time they've predicted in advance so we will get jack shit lol.

What does your forecasting premonitions suggest? x

JillJ72 · 28/01/2015 16:21

Harrumph!!! Looks like we'll be missing out. Black and torrential rain around 11am, now windy and clear and brrrr.

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 28/01/2015 16:45

It keeps snowing on and off here, but not laying or anything. Phew.

Baddz · 28/01/2015 16:47

We have had horizontal sleet and some hail but no snow :(
It's forecast here from about 9pm tonight (Leicestershire)

mankyscotslass · 28/01/2015 16:48

I got soaked this morning on the way to work. Sad [said. It was wild over lunchtime with squally hail/sleet showers and is now cold damp and dark.

Not holding out any hope here!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/01/2015 18:16

I'm feeling vaguely optimistic for some flurries tomorrow now.

west Yorkshire signing in - hoping for a snow day tomorrow.

Local paper & BBC site say it's all go from about 8pm

SwedeDreams · 28/01/2015 18:34

London calling, as far as I know we shouldn't expect snow, not stopping me from putting my snow boots on and doing the snowdance Grin

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 28/01/2015 18:36

I'm just outside Edinburgh and am upset at the amber warning when we have only had a few snow flurries and none lying. Sad I just wanted a littlebit more tonight.

Unless I go to bed and it starts and covers everywhere by morning.

firstposts · 28/01/2015 19:07

The snow is now beginning to feel like an unreliable friend. Promising to show up and then 'flaking out' at the last minute. Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 28/01/2015 19:10

Oybbk met office is giving us light snow Sunday morning what do you reckon?!

hoochymama1 · 28/01/2015 19:27

Snowboots with the snowdance..hmmm..that's where I've been going wrong Wink

SwedeDreams · 28/01/2015 19:32

Yes come on get your snowboots on and get dancing. We can make this happen London!!!! Grin

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 28/01/2015 19:57

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 28/01/2015 20:08

I think its going to snow lots overnight, going by the Met office

WhispersOfWickedness · 28/01/2015 20:16

It's started here (North Lincs) Grin

Lagoonablue · 28/01/2015 21:01

Betcha Manchester remains snow free as usual.

BlackeyedSusan · 28/01/2015 21:14

"No fair!"

We had the smallest amount of snow it is possible to get. Not enough to tell ds about as he would not have been able to see the three or four flakes and would have had a melt down. the meerest flurry in the wind does not count as snow.

GloriaSmud · 28/01/2015 21:17

Leicester signing in. Nothing happening at the moment but looking here and the reports coming in from Birmingham/Coventry way here, it's not far away.

FyreFly · 28/01/2015 21:49

Nary a flake here in Rutland Gloria - I shall watch for your updates eagerly, hoping it comes east.

I think at our latitude we're going to be right on the edge of it from looking at various forecasts, so it could go either way. I'm hoping we get some though, as I don't have any work planned tomorrow or Friday Grin
