Following on from the Boxing Day snow thread we have weather warnings from the met office for snow down part of the east coast and widespread ice. Around Northampton could also see some snow today. Take care over night and into tomorrow morning.

The theme of rather cold carries on through this week, especially away from western coasts. Some central areas could struggle to get above 0C even in the day time. Some sharp frosts. The next few days look dry and cold, with perhaps some freezing fog, especially over any snow fields. At the moment it looks like things might become milder through Thursday with rain moving in. GFS disagrees with this though and keeps things cold.

GFS then keeps teasing with a possibly dramatic return to school snow wise for some. Its a long way ahead but as ever I will keep you updated. However i may not be always able to answer specific questions due to real life so if you need to know urgently please check out the met office

It officially sucks - no snow for us here down south this week Sad

MrsVamos · 20/01/2015 20:46

Oooh.

Icy, rainy drizzly stuff ?

Potential to turn to the white stuff ?

Jill Yep, I'm not far from you ! Smile

I just want a little bit, just enough for a snow day. It's not much to ask, is it ?

mankyscotslass · 20/01/2015 20:53

I just got a general text from my boss in my new office - reminding us we are under a weather warning for tonight and tomorrow and to make sure we allow enough time to get to work on time in the morning .....safely of course!

meglet · 20/01/2015 20:57

youare ((hugs)) we have to be strong, there is still hope.

MrsAFlowerpot · 20/01/2015 21:04

Is our snow ever ever ever coming Sad Herts

amigababy · 20/01/2015 21:05

medium flakes falling West Yorkshire.

My new boss tried to establish a snow policy today ( his first winter with us), I think he was bemused at my planning / stubbornness re not going in tomorrow if its halfway bad.
( part time office worker, about 1 hours actual planned work tomorrow and its already a 45 minutes drive on a normal day)

MrsVamos · 20/01/2015 21:28

P'raps if you get snow, you could send me some ?

Grin
Namechangeyetagaintohide · 20/01/2015 21:41

I have snow ! Finally !

FelixFelix · 20/01/2015 22:04

Snowed again here on the moors in West Yorkshire. Dd is ill so I can't go to any play groups with her this week and was planning on going for a walk tomorrow. I have an irrational fear of slipping over so we will be staying in now!

GloriaSmud · 20/01/2015 22:18

Leicester signing in here ~ in the last 5-10 minutes, we seem to have gone from light snow/nothing settling to 'snowmageddon' and now have a slight covering on cars and grass.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/01/2015 22:19

2.5c and raining :(

Nothing over here in Rutland Gloria - send it this way!

JillJ72 · 20/01/2015 22:44

Looks like the cars won't need scraping here in the morning - v light not-snow-something. Silver linings Grin

magimedi · 20/01/2015 23:01

+3.0c here and raining hard.

Hooray! No snow!

amigababy · 20/01/2015 23:15

Felix - I share that. don't think it's irrational though. I would happily hibernate.

TheWoollybacksWife · 20/01/2015 23:18

Snowing here (Northants)

I'm in two minds about it Grin On the one hand I love snow but DD1 has her uni exam tomorrow and I don't want bad weather for her walk in. I will be looking out for updates from Leicester from Gloria

BlackeyedSusan · 20/01/2015 23:29

theres snow to the north and east and south and west... but none here...

am I allowed a hissy fit?

FyreFly · 20/01/2015 23:34

We now have very chunky, fluffy, sleety snow in Rutland! More snow than sleet, and it's those nice big flakes. It's not settling at the moment though, it might settle later. If I'm still awake in an hour or so I'll update Grin

mankyscotslass · 21/01/2015 06:23

Woke to....NO SNOW! Angry

GloriaSmud · 21/01/2015 06:31

Our snowmageddon last night resulted in depths of snow amounting to all of 0.5-1cm Grin It has now all melted Sad The sledge remains unused this winter.

MillyMoo1113 · 21/01/2015 07:08

Leeds here, maybe an inch of snow. Hate the stuff. Have parked at the top of the hill I live in but still need to drive up another hill to get to work Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 21/01/2015 07:14

Woken up to no snow, it's just raining sassy.

leesmum · 21/01/2015 07:23

No snow here either Sad

dingit · 21/01/2015 07:26

Ha ha, I got ds lovely this morning. Hes desperate for a snow day ( so school is shut). I gave his normal morning shout, adding quick get your snow boots out, there masses of snow ( south east). He didn't find it funny, as I made him get out of bed too quickly Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/01/2015 07:29

Stupid rain. :( I didn't expect anything else but a surprise would have been nice.
