I'm in the Irish Sea :) we are used to high winds here but I have to admit a Force 11 at times with a sea state of very high is something we don't get that often.

Helenagrace · 26/12/2013 22:12

Just been for a walk on the beach (Sussex). There's still loads of seaweed and beach debris on the road below the promenade. Had to change our route home from the midlands to avoid flooding. Friends have been without power for 72 hours nowSad

ARealPickle · 26/12/2013 22:14

Thank-you OhYou :) You are fantastic/

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 26/12/2013 22:20

You are really welcome :)

Helena, your poor friends.

It dawned on me that beach cliffs are going to be getting really unstable. (Random thought about Christmas holiday walks)

Rain has started again here. I do hope it's not causing too much anxiety.

Sorry to bother you OYBBK but I wanted to double check something...

The metoffice says that the weather in my area (north wales) will be fine on Sunday, but I am supposed to be driving to and from Lancashire Sunday afternoon and I really don't want to go

Will it be really rough??

starsandunicorns · 26/12/2013 22:34

Wind really bad here in north west I dont have the best windows either all shut but have a breeze which is making my doors which are shut rattle hopes it settles down by 6am as got to gp to work on exposed roads too

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 26/12/2013 22:37

Twll, I hate to break it to you but it really does look ok. Sunday night though - wet. Again.

Balls.

Thanks to you though OYBBK!

Ghostsdonttalk · 26/12/2013 22:40

We just lost our shed its blown over the fence into next door. Very wild here in NI.

beachyhead · 26/12/2013 22:45

Rain and high winds here in W. Sussex, started about 30 mins ago after a fantastic clear day

OhBabyLilyMunster · 26/12/2013 22:48

Wild in south cumbria now

moominleigh94 · 26/12/2013 22:51

Wind is very bad here on NW Wales coast (Barmouth). Our house overlooks the coast and the Lleyn Peninsula over the water, and all the lights are out. Normally very bright - very odd to see them out. Boyfriend twenty five minutes away has lost power, reckon we're not far off losing it.

magimedi · 26/12/2013 22:55

beachyhead - here in E Sussex wind has just started in the last 10 mins but no rain yet - I am assuming you are the other (Westerly) side of Beachy Head to me? I am about 5 miles East of it.

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 26/12/2013 22:56

Moomin, hope you keep it!

Ghosts - you didn't really want a shed anyway did you? I hope you have t lost too much.

TodaysAGoodDay · 26/12/2013 22:58

Weather is atrocious in north west Cumbria, we've been without power for over an hour now.

bunchoffives · 26/12/2013 22:59

North west here. Wind really getting up. Windows are rattling and I've just had to turn up the TV!

OhBabyLilyMunster · 26/12/2013 23:01

Where are you, today?

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 26/12/2013 23:02

I hope you get it back soon today's, it's turned a bit cold.

Lights flashing ominously here!

BramblyHedge · 26/12/2013 23:07

Moomin...we are staying near Dolgellau and wonder if we will lose our power as well then.

TodaysAGoodDay · 26/12/2013 23:07

About 10 miles north of Keswick. You?

CointreauVersial · 26/12/2013 23:08

It has been clear and still all day, but suddenly in the last 20 minutes I'm hearing great gusts of wind (Surrey). I don't think our fence (what's left of it) can take much more.

Our Holyhead to Dublin ferry tomorrow is currently scheduled to run, but it will be delayed, according to the website. The two crossings before ours have already been cancelled. Thank goodness we booked on the Ulysses (the big, slow one). Nevertheless, we are packing the car with stuff to keep us occupied during a potentially long wait at Holyhead. Booo.

moominleigh94 · 26/12/2013 23:11

Brambly Dolgellau usually escapes the worst of any wind as it's in the valley so it's nice and sheltered although they may still be on flood risk. We're right on the coast and very exposed which is why we're taking a hammering! Nothing's certain though. We're managing to hold on to the power for now!

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 26/12/2013 23:13

CV - good luck!
