Sorry to hear you are having a stressful time with it too Kitten.

oldsilver · 24/12/2013 00:18

I was just thinking it was calming a bit - which is good cause the rain in the last 1/2 hour was unbelievable. It is now raining inside what used to be a downstairs bathroom - single storey but it's part of the building not an extra add-on, we lovingly refer to as our conservatory. The rain and wind has been exceptional though.

LadyFlumpalot · 24/12/2013 00:18

Ahhh I don't mind being specific, I've enough info on my profile to out me anyway! Grin

I'm in North Dorset, just a few miles from Shaftesbury.

LadyFlumpalot · 24/12/2013 00:19

DS is terrified. DH is in with him explaining that it's all ok, the wind is just tidying the leaves up! Smile

Darkesteyes · 24/12/2013 00:19

Oh quite a way from me North Essex.

LadyFlumpalot · 24/12/2013 00:21

I think it's tracking East so will clear here first? Is that right Kitten?

Ruprekt · 24/12/2013 00:26

I am in Berkshire and it is blowing a helluva gale here! Fence has blown down, windows are rattling....has been like this for hours. At least boys are asleep.....ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused

BlackeyedShepherdswatchsheep · 24/12/2013 00:29

w midds. windy and rainy here. we are not in the worst of it though.

gloria, you seem to in the small green bit tomorrow.

MaryzBoychildCheeszuzCrizpz · 24/12/2013 00:31

It's awful here (Dublin), and ds1 is out in it. I wish he would come home.

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 24/12/2013 00:34

Yes Lady, which means we have a while of it yet.

I know I love weather, but maybe not this storm.

Lights are still flickering here, wind is roaring around the houses. I won't be able to sleep. It goes very quiet and then suddenly starts again.

Leak in roof which was supposed to be sorted is merrily leaking again.

Ruprekt · 24/12/2013 00:46

LadyFlumpalot · 24/12/2013 00:48

Huh, It's all stopped...

ExcuseTypos · 24/12/2013 00:50

We've got a flood going on in the conservatory because of all the rainSad

Luckily the conservatory is about 2inches lower than the kitchen. We just keep sweeping all the water out, DH seems to think its because the water table is so high as it seems ot be coming through the floor.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the water table to eventually go down. I'm so worried its just going to go on all night long and all day tomorrow!!

superbaghag · 24/12/2013 00:50

all quiet here now too (somerset). Thought we were in for some major structural damage here earlier. Will be up as soon as it's light to check the outside

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 24/12/2013 00:51

I hope that means that its going to clear us in a while. Too tired to analyse. It might be a bit of a pause for you as it will stay gusty after he cold font, but maybe in fits and starts.

I hope you all get some sleep. And I hope I get some too Grin

OhYouMerryLittleKitten · 24/12/2013 00:51

Excuse, it depends on where you are. Hopefully not around hills.

Belize · 24/12/2013 00:55

Goodnight Kitten, hope you sleep well Smile.

I'm staying in Northamptonshire with friends and the wind and rain is extraordinary, lights keep dipping.

I love big weather but worry about everyone who is in a less than safe place.

mummylin2495 · 24/12/2013 01:02

We also have got water coming into our conservatory ! Dh thinks wind driving rain under the flashing or something like that. Coming in over two sets of double doors leading from the lounge, got towels all olong the floor. Also had text from my niece , they have water coming into their kitchen .

HerdyTheRedNosedHerdwick · 24/12/2013 01:03

I hope you're all ok. Things are fine here but I'm in Cheshire.
I have a friend in Brittany who I haven't heard from today, which is unusual, I know it's bad there too.

Ruprekt you're on Channel 5 tomorrow afternoon ;)

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/12/2013 01:15

Belize I'm in Northants too. Looking at the rain radar map we should be right under the worst of it in about 15 minutes.

I can't decide if I would be more use staying up to check everything is OK or if I should go to bed - and if I go to bed should I get into my own bed or jump in with DS(6) who is fast asleep and untroubled by wind or rain and more likely to be disturbed by his great lump of a mother clinging to him through the night. Plus the blimmin Christmas wreath keeps knocking on the front door.

Belize · 24/12/2013 01:20

TheWoolly, you made me laugh!

I'm staying up as find it quite exciting although worrying too as to what is going on that we can't see...

Awful that two people have died tonight already and they are just the ones we know about Sad.

Belize · 24/12/2013 01:21

Which map are you watching Woolly?

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/12/2013 01:24

This one - I just zoomed in to see a more local view. It is bloody throwing it down now.
