met office warnings For tomorrow for Scotland and NW England, extending to Yorkshire. NW Scotlant in particular looks awful with blizzard conditions.

I'm not quite sure about the warnings for England, I'm going to be really interested to see how they pan out. Tuesday scattered sleet and snow showers for many.

Grin Lottie, I thought it would be sleety down your way!

Sparkling, I dont think you are!

digerd, as it cools the air can hold less moisture so the relative humidity goes up.

I will need to get them to reveal their sources OYBBK. I can't find any sniff of snow on any forecast anywhere. Grin

We had some sleet this evening. I was surprised, as I didn't think it was really cold enough. My car said it was 5.5C.

Minimum temp out +3. So no frost or snow, but had rain, I think.
Skies cloudy atm.

Whilst many places may get snow showers over the next couple of days, the primary risk for snow is through Eastern Coastal counties, esp Norfolk and parts of Suffolk.

met office warnings

Although sparkling, there are some showers on the radar with your name on, that may end up being snow (even though I don't think they will lie for long)

South Herts
Skies clearing now with lots of blue bits. Has been the pattern for us recently - lots of sunshine. But only +3 still.
I want that lovely + 12 and sunny day that we had before - once.

As I'm ignoring my homework to bring you the West Wales Weather update -: Mae hi'n bwrw cesair yng Gymru ac yn y bore roedd hi'n wyntog iawn. Sorry, hopefully that says it is hailing in Wales and this morning was very windy. I could barely breathe on the beach, there must be a technique for that, explorers can't surely walk backwards so they can breathe if it's windy the direction they are going, they'd get nowhere.

So, please tell me there are going to be no freak downpours in the east Wales area as DS2 is on a school trip down a mine (why? Why do they take my precious babies underground all the time, is it because they are Welsh?). It gives me the heebiejeebies anyway.

Happy birthday pepperrabbit Thanks and Wine

Kitten, on the snow watch forum, there's talk of possibly more snow at the weekend. What do you think, oh wise all seeing one of MN weather?

We haven't had any snow or frost the last few days, just lots of rain and wind yesterday. A few spots so far today and not as cold as I thought it would be. Everyimei see rain I want to just go back to bed. Surely the sky must have rained itself out by now. Hmm

Happy Birthday pepper :)

Up in Scotland, esp the north on Sunday/evening into Monday theres the possibilty of heavy snow.

Also sunday has the potential to bring either a lot of snow or a lot of rain to the south. or, maybe nothing much at all! Theres no way of calling it yet. The models look very very different. The ECMWF model makes no sense at all to me. GFS hardly brings the weather system across the UK at all and the UKMO which brings in what looks to be sensible solution shows a system on the slightly warm side of what we need for widespread snow.

Watch this space!

lostinwales - your post made me laugh!

Thanks ladies! Funnily enough I was on a weather thread for my birthday last year! It snowed and several dinner guests couldn't make it so I ate my own body weight in poached salmon.
Takeaway tonight.
Flippin' freezing here, sat indoors with my scarf on.

Bumbledog and I just got absolutely drenched whilst out walking in the fields!! I have had to change my trousers now and I have to go out again in a few minutes to collect my friends daughter from school! There was mud mud mud and more mud. I had to slosh through the puddles to get the mud off my boots and then had to manhandle Bdog into the kitchen to towel dry him before he was allowed into the sitting room! he is now curled up in a tight ball beside me on the sofa fast asleep!!

South Herts
Think we had a bit of sleet for a few minutes after 4pm. +3 atm, but feels cold and put the heating up again earlier than usual.
When is this NE biting wind going to go stop?

North Wales here!

There was a bit of snow yesterday on the mainland, but not here. The wind is ferocious, though, and freezing.

I would give my right arm both arms and possibly a leg for a sudden down pour of snow this evening. I can't bear work at the moment Sad

The warnings map for the uk for Wednesday, looks like a Wimbledon with a pointy hat and glasses on, kneading a ball of dough.

It's funny that the ice warning yellow is extended out to sea. Usually the just cover the land, I think? Is that right? Does this mean the sea might freeze?

A womble! Not a Wimbledon, though of course that's where they live.

Greater Manchester here - The snow turned to rain and by this morning it was all gone. Sad

Today has been bitterly cold, but dry with sunny intervals.

There is talk in the playground of snow on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. What do you think OYBBK?
