met office warnings For tomorrow for Scotland and NW England, extending to Yorkshire. NW Scotlant in particular looks awful with blizzard conditions.

I'm not quite sure about the warnings for England, I'm going to be really interested to see how they pan out. Tuesday scattered sleet and snow showers for many.

The rain here this morning is awful. It's snowing in Wrexham though, so maybe it will head over this way too. As far as I can tell, we are due it on Saturday.

mankyscotslass · 22/03/2013 06:38

Manchesters snow shield firmly in place!

nellyjelly · 22/03/2013 06:46

Yes Manky. As usual. I posted elsewhere about how local forecast last night had us covered in snow. There is not a flake to be seen here. Amazes me how we always seem to be free of it when all around is covered..

GloriaSmud · 22/03/2013 06:50

Sorry manky Sad I'd send you some of ours but it would probably clear us out ~ the amount of snow we've had so far wouldn't reach a fleas kneecap at the moment! The sky does look full of it though so I'm sure I could send lots later on!

I'm looking at all the travel webcams along our possible route into Wales and it gets worse as I go westwards. The BBC travel site also says that the 3 main roads going towards Porthmadog are closed because of snow. Not a lot of point starting off, me thinks.

InMySpareTime · 22/03/2013 06:58

Manky, it's snowing in TraffordGrin (not much, and very windblown, but definitely snow)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/03/2013 07:14

today's warnings

Lots of disruption already reported on r4

Snowing here now, but not enough to lie!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/03/2013 08:02

There is absolutely loads of precip on the radar manky, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turned back to rain for a while for you before a renewed snowy effort later on this evening.(although you might escape this evening and end up with a drier outlook, a bit unsure at the moment)

Snow was nowhere near as bad as expected here... phew! (Leicestershire)

digerd · 22/03/2013 09:01

S.Herts
Wet and windy this morning but not raining atm.
+2 in the night. Now +3.
Sun disappeared yesterday pm, but stayed dry.

GloriaSmud · 22/03/2013 12:03

We've decided not to risk getting over to Wales today and might attempt it tomorrow but looking at the metoffice's updated warnings, not too sure about tomorrow either!

The Weather Channel are saying that this could be the coldest March weekend in 50 years!

GloriaSmud · 22/03/2013 12:13

I've just noticed how much our temperature's dropped ~ it was 3.5c 20 minutes ago and now it's 2.8!

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 22/03/2013 12:14

Nothing much happening here in South Derbyshire, just a biting wind and some melting slush.

mankyscotslass · 22/03/2013 13:28

Very cold with snow flurries, but nothing sticking. I have seen lots of cars with at least an inch of snow on them driving on the main road, but they aren't from round here. Another disappointed mank

LillethTheCat · 22/03/2013 13:47

Cant decide if Im happy or not with the weather, got a bit of snow, but nothing significant, but would like an excuse not to go out later for tea.

mankyscotslass · 22/03/2013 16:03

Still just occasional flurries, otherwise dry, grey and cold. if it did snow properly it would lie, but the snow shield is still working!

SarahStratton · 22/03/2013 16:14

Will we be having snow in Lincolnshire, please? Louth area, pleaseandthankyou.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/03/2013 16:58

Clearly the snow is being very specific as to where it is falling, but remember this event isnt over for another 12 maybe more hours yet. It is still more likely to badly affect those on higher ground.

Lincolnshire may well see some snow over tonight and into tomorrow morning. accompanied by strong winds.
