met office warnings For tomorrow for Scotland and NW England, extending to Yorkshire. NW Scotlant in particular looks awful with blizzard conditions.

I'm not quite sure about the warnings for England, I'm going to be really interested to see how they pan out. Tuesday scattered sleet and snow showers for many.

By early afternoon I think that there should only be a little snow around in the east.

Another wave from west Sussex .

School is closed and when you look at the roads they look not too bad but mist are like sheets of ice .

Are we getting more of the same today ? I need to be at work tomorrow and am hoping it will magically dissapear by morning .

Helenagrace · 12/03/2013 07:44

DC's schools closed. DH not even attempting to go to work.

Lack of gritting in West Sussex is appalling. East Sussex have been tweeting maps of gritted roads so people can plan the routes they use. West Sussex isn't even on twitter.

I've just identified my local councillor. He better be ready for my email!

SpottyTeacakes · 12/03/2013 08:20

Food shopping cancelled Sad

IShallWearMidnight · 12/03/2013 08:21

no signs of gritting here in East Surrey, although the council reckon they stared priority 1 and 2 routes at 6.30 last night. Schools closed, looks like we're not going anywhere today.

pigleychez · 12/03/2013 09:11

Another West Sussex'er here. (Crawley)

Snow day for DD's. Quite pleased really as dont fancy venturing out in that today.
DH managed to cycle through the blizzards this morning and jump on a train to London. Said theres no snow from about East Croydon upwards.

Know people who were stuck on the A23 for about 8 hours yesterday and overnight!

LillethTheCat · 12/03/2013 09:24

Please tell me that there is no truth to the rumour Chris Evans made this morning about due a white Easter. I was hoping that in a couple of days we would get Spring again and that would be it for winter, but Im not so hopeful now

GloriaSmud · 12/03/2013 09:53

Lilleth ~ I've heard metoffice weather guys say that we're more likely to get a 'White Easter' than a 'White Christmas.' It was cold/snowy last Easter so I think we should be let off this year!
It's time it warmed up a bit ~ I demand the return of Spring!

PigletJohn · 12/03/2013 09:54

S Coast, still a cold wind but patchy sun has bunt the remaining frost off the car by 7.30, and it is now hazy bright.

Roads clean but some snow patches on grass, under cars, and in shade.

digerd · 12/03/2013 10:00

S.Herts
Still more blue sky than clouds, but still very windy and cold and no snow as yet.
Soon going out for little dog's walk still in eskimo outfit despite no snow.

PestoFrostissimos · 12/03/2013 10:24

Still blizzarding here - Snow Day!! Grin

Back from dog walk and wind chill factor reduced but wind force increased. Was pleasant in sunshine and sheltered by the hedge but pushed from behind on the homestretch with such force I did a few trippling steps to keep my balance, but got home faster!

onepieceoflollipop · 12/03/2013 12:58

Hello, I am new on this topic but not new on mnet. :)
Can anyone please advise. I am due to travel from Midlands to Wembley via the M1, returning around midnight tonight.
Have kept a close eye on forecast, all seems reasonably ok (sunny spells, cold wind, temp varying from -1 up to 4 degrees depending on the forecast I read)
However, BBC news seem to br saying the opposite, do they have more up to date information? I am feeling a bit anxious as there are snow warnings?
Any advice gratefully received. Anyone in London/Wembley area?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/03/2013 14:16

will have a quick look for you :)

S.Herts < outskirts of north London>
Not so much blue sky as has been today, but has got to +4 and 'fair'.
Don't know about Wembley.

digerd · 12/03/2013 16:03

Don't know if it means anything, but just noticed some dark clouds looming in from the NE/E?

PigletJohn · 12/03/2013 22:51

S coast

A chill wind. No snow near the beach, but a couple of miles inland is snow in hedgerows and at the bottom of fences. It was sunny enough during the day to melt and dry unshaded patches.

digerd · 13/03/2013 12:12

S.Herts
Still lots of sunshine and 5 degrees in shade now. And the hurricane force winds have greatly subsided -

digerd · 13/03/2013 15:13

S.Herts
Just got back from warm < out of the slight wind> and sunny dog walk. 5 minutes later SNOWING ??!! Temp. outside +7. How is that possible?

I was right it has all gone mad !!!!!

LillethTheCat · 15/03/2013 07:38

Ive got forecast of snow from Monday evening onwards for next week. Please say its not true. I can't be disrupted again. Im in North Yorks/Co Durham area. If it is snow, does it look bad? Or just a light dusting?

FriendofDorothy · 15/03/2013 07:43

Someone told we were going up get snow in guernsey again next Monday. Surely that's not possible?

pigsinmud · 15/03/2013 10:13

Weather forecast on tv (can't remember whether it was bbc or itv) said wintry weather to return by middle of next week. Is this true?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/03/2013 17:11

schilke, its rather a north south divide. There could be a fair bit of snow in northern England and Scotland (and perhaps Welsh hills). Rest of England looking a bit too warm at the moment.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/03/2013 17:12

lilleth, it could be enough to cause problems im afraid.
Dorothy, not sure where they heard that, no sign that I can see.
