well, it looks like winter finally might be arriving!

First indications for snow are for this coming saturday as a low pressure draws in cold air . The met office arent really going for it at the moment, but the potential is certainly there. At the moment I'd say the biggest risk is for the midlands and central England.

After that there seems to be a cold few days but then the models start to disagree. GFS shows a positive snow fest for the 24th! masses of snow, but its a long way off and until we get much closer who knows what really will happen.

and actually then through saturday GFS has it now warming up significantly to leave Sunday mild! Blimey! UKMO is not in agreement with that, going for cold instead.

Snow here in Norfolk . So far have had two vans in ditches just outside the village , one upside down , one just nose down . Some people just don't treat our fen roads with the respect they need .

Every weather forecast I look at says something different! It must be a very tricky system!

Please, please just let us get to Bristol on Saturday!

I am so disgruntled. Why does Dorset never get the expected snow and I am still waiting to wear my snow boots I had at xmas 2011 !!!!

Dottiespots · 15/01/2013 01:27

Snow everywhere outside here in my part of North Wales. Flakes are falling and the ground is white.....awwwww!

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 15/01/2013 06:10

We must have got the heavy snow forecast overnight and now metcheck says sunny but met office says snow.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/01/2013 07:25

Snow continues for the NE today but probably getting lighter. Snow risk continues for eastern coastal counties until Friday when a more generalised risk of snow for much of the UK exists. This continues through Saturday though much of the sw will be too warm for snow.

Apparently, according to a couple of friends on FB, we had a few flakes around 11pm last night. But nothing much and none now.
Hate seeing all the lovely snow pictures on tv! We want some Envy

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/01/2013 08:01

That's the spirit Meg!

We had another light dusting overnight in my bit of Kent. Nothing on roads or pavements. Just looks like a heavy frost :(

mankyscotslass · 15/01/2013 08:05

Very heavy frost here overnight, the bins were all iced shut!

mankyscotslass · 15/01/2013 08:06

erm.... it's snowing Shock

mankyscotslass · 15/01/2013 08:12

Just a few flakes though - not enough to lie or anything. but nice to see it drifting down.

SpottyTeacakes · 15/01/2013 08:13

We haven't even got a frost this morning Confused

pepperrabbit · 15/01/2013 08:22

Ooooh, it's ...... grey and wet here, again. Angry
Actually it's probably quite cold looking at the people scurrying past, but I haven't stuck my nose out yet.

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 15/01/2013 08:47

Just been snowing here again, roads are just ice underneath, not even attempting school yet! Might try in an hour or so.

LillethTheCat · 15/01/2013 09:41

It wasn't meant to be snowing here in North Yorkshire today (according to the weather I looked at last night) but it is, bloody big flakes as well Angry. Least the roads look too wet for it to settle.

MooncupGoddess · 15/01/2013 09:54

No snow at all in London, though I did see a car with about an inch of thick snow on its bonnet - must have driven in from somewhere more exciting!

Netweather is beginning to annoy me with its hysterical temperature predictions. For 9 this morning it predicted an average temperature for my borough of minus 3, 'feeling like' minus 8. In fact it was +3 degrees on my outdoor thermometer and although chilly it hardly felt like Siberia.

TobyLerone · 15/01/2013 09:59

Lovely blue sky here now. The house is cold, though.

snowflakehellokitty · 15/01/2013 10:17
Wink
Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2013 10:22

All snow has gone. Sun is shining again, but roads are lethal. Sad

leesmum · 15/01/2013 10:29

Ickle bits of snow falling in north Manchester and very cold!!
