Snow next week?

I just wondered if anyone has heard about it being really cold next week with snow showers?
Ooh I do hope so (fingers crossed for a snow day).

I'm in Edinburgh this evening, drove up from Yorkshire today. It went down to freezing earlier on. V cold here. Wind is icy.

Interesting on drive up was snow on top of hills in Lake District but none here that I can see. Hoping it stays dry for journey home tomorrow. And, sorry, but hoping there is no snow next week either. Brrrrrrrr.

It has cooled down significantly down south (south coast). Definite change now the wind's backed to the NW/NE/wherever. Cold nights & mornings but no frosts yet. Single digits in the day.

Complete absence of rain now, hurrah! We have had enough. I don't think we'll be first in line for any wintry showers though, too warm usually on the coast - but we shall see. Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out!

Its soooo cold here. It was 4c at 6pm last night the amber snowflake came on in the car as a warning

Bitter cold today in Tameside. It was outdoor PE today, and half the kids did not have a proper outdoor kit, even though they are on the MUST HAVE list.

Lots of bare legs running around the pitches.

We're down to 1.7C already ~ 'tis going to be a cold night and there are metoffice warnings for ice that say so too!

I'm in Surrey, and the sky is absolutely filled with birds migrating south. Can't say I blame them! It's really chilly, 1*c when we walked the dog at 8 this morning

It's a model that I tend to use partly because there is so much freely available in the public domain. It runs 4 times a day and looks at the medium term.
You'll find that a lot of the weather sites that people quote here use it - especially the ones where you input your postcode and it comes up with a forecast (sometimes these websites dont have any human input added into the forecast which means that sometimes ridiculous snow fall levels and temps are quoted)

Where is the snow?

More importantly do i buy snowboots now or wait till Jan? If i buy them now i bet it will not snow till next year.

That's like asking where's the rain you need precipitating clouds too!

I would buy snow boots, as I think that snow is looking possible round your neck of the woods towards the end of the week.

I wish the models would settle down though, they are all over the place! South is looking pretty mild for at least the start of the week.

I can report a small flurry of snow here in west Lothian! And it is so so cold!

Some snow tonight in SE Scotland and again sun night :) wintry showers overnight and tomorrow morning running down parts of the north east perhaps into Lincolnshire.

Not really! I have to take ds to Aberdeen today and pick him up again on Sunday! Any chance he might get snowed in up there??
