Hello
I just wondered if anyone has heard about it being really cold next week with snow showers?
Ooh I do hope so (fingers crossed for a snow day).

PinkSoccerMum · 20/11/2012 16:01

that sorry

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 20/11/2012 16:05

Urgh. I hope not

MegGriffin · 20/11/2012 16:07

Someone on facebook said next week is going to be really cold (so must be true). I looked on met office and it mentioned wintery showers and on metcheck showed snow showers so I though i'd ask one of our super weather experts if they knew anything.

scotland and the midlands probably, further south, I doubt it

MegGriffin · 20/11/2012 16:08

I'm in the south.

It best not in the south. 8mo pg and a hill to/from the dcs school. I will not be happy if it snows!

LifeIsBetterInFlipFlops · 20/11/2012 16:10

I've bought DS a sledge, so it won't snow for 20 years!

Shinyshoes1 · 20/11/2012 16:12

I know it's going to be very cold in the South middle of next week. Minus 2 at night and 4 degrees during the day. No snow forecast though

RooneyMara · 20/11/2012 16:20

Stacey are you me?! Smile

Actually I'm not ready so you can't be Grin

I will use current condition as supreme excuse to stay indoors and NOT go to school, hurrah.

Well, I'm working backwards at the moment, looking at the 6 th dec, GFS has a lovely wintery chart, with a high pressure blocking the Atlantic. Temps of freezing and snow across the northern half. Now of course it's way too early to be accurate but its very exciting!

OhYoubadbadKitten · 20/11/2012 21:54

Coming forward to beginning dec we have temps in the 0-5c range and looking showery.

GloriaSmud · 20/11/2012 21:58

They're getting quite excited on met-monkey (weather message board) that for next week, the signs are there that colder weather is a-coming. I don't think they can tell at the moment what form this cold could be ~ it could just be frost, fog etc and that's it, or it might start as frost, fog and then after a while, move on to snow. The last few days of November/beginning of December could be interesting!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 20/11/2012 21:58

What about South Wales?

Will we be getting any of the white stuff?

BelleDameSousMistletoe · 20/11/2012 22:01

No. Please tell me it's not going to snow anywhere in the UK next week?

Bloody bastard snow. I live in Yorkshire on a bastard hill that's not gritted. As if that's not bad enough, I have to go to Glasgow and Edinburgh on Wedneday and Thursday next week.

OhYoubadbadKitten · 20/11/2012 22:01

Next week.....

According to gfs Maybe widespread wintery showers even in the south Grin GFS shows it much colder, temps a little above zero.

Met office seem to be going for a milder option.

We will see which is right.

Exciting!

OhYoubadbadKitten · 20/11/2012 22:03

Too early to say when and where! Not expecting prolonged stuff out of this set up, just a taste of winter.

picnicbasketcase · 20/11/2012 22:04

Ooh I do hope so.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 20/11/2012 22:05

Just a taste is fine to start with!

I'm keen to find out how my new car goes in the snow!

Moodykat · 20/11/2012 22:06

No no no! Not next week, I have no boiler!

OhYoubadbadKitten · 20/11/2012 22:08

I guess the most likely scenario is wintry over northern hills, but GFS suggests more...

Piemistress · 20/11/2012 22:09

Hopefully not as I am moving house!!

RooneyMara · 21/11/2012 07:27

I'm bewildered that anyone would be looking forward to driving in the snow Grin I tried it two years ago, never again.

Is it a specially winter tyred car? Sounds brill if so!

BelleDameSousMistletoe · 21/11/2012 07:32

I don"t think anyone who has to travel for work/school would look forward to it. Sad

Even if you have a car with winter/snow tyres (which I do) it's bloody treacherous (not to mention a pain in the arse getting the tyres changed). Plus, it's not just you driving - anything can happen. Like when I slid down a hill of sheet ice and wrote my new car off
