Getting really really fed up with it now. I actually think it's partly to cause for my depresion coming back, I am feeling so down ATM.
I get soaked twice a day walking midnees to school. I ahve 3 airers ful of wet washing all over the house, the heating on to dry it all, and muddy dog pawprints everywhere.

I want someone to turn the tap off please Grin

Can i point out that I really miss British weather? Even when it rains for days on end?

. On Saturday we had 11 inches of rain. In 24 hours. Not quite a ruler's worth. Shock

Apparently it won't be too long before the dry season (ie winter) kicks in. Thank fuck for that says I. We have had about 7 feet of rain since November.

BethanyBear · 30/04/2012 04:22

I think the worst part is being stuck inside the house with mad toddler who needs to run around and be free! Have to play in puddles every time I go to corner shop and nothing is drying on the radiator. Yes, I could turn them on, but I'm too stubborn Grin It's April, damn it! I got a tan last month! Wtf is going on? Oh, and have plans for Alton Towers in May! Best wear a raincoat :( Feels good to moan :) P.S. No one talk to me about April showers! This is April flash floods. Also, have spent most Aprils having BBQs for birthdays! Had to do a roast instead!

OYBK

Could you explain to me why (West Sussex) we are having 10 minute weather? We have brilliant blue sky, then thunderstorms for 10 minutes, followed by monster hail then back to sun all in half hour, repeat several times a day and this has been our weather for the past few days...... I'm beginning to suspect rapture Confused

BethanyBear · 30/04/2012 04:40

That's the same as us in Hampshire. I suspected rapture also... Think they were right about 2012 Confused Just going to wash right off the bloody earth. Thank God for gravity Grin

ben5 · 30/04/2012 05:01

if it makes you feel better we have had rain in Perth Australia to!

TheSkiingGardener · 30/04/2012 06:15

It hasn't stopped raining since I bought a tent.

If it helps I went out yesterday and bought DS some wellies, maybe that will de-jinx the country.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 30/04/2012 07:14

Tits, it is because much of the weather youve had has been driven by convection, where warm air (though it doesnt feel warm) lifts parcels of air, bringing moisture up with it, forming cumulus and cumulonimbus type clouds. rather different from the stratus type clouds that bring steady rain.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 30/04/2012 07:21

Oh thank you. Smile

I feel a bit cleverer now!

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 30/04/2012 08:01

:)

If its any consolation to people, GFS, doesnt look quite so bad for the third week in May. Remember though that is getting into long term stuff and models frequently change. We can only look with any accuracy up to about 5 days ahead, the rest is just trends really.

BethanyBear · 30/04/2012 09:00

I see sun! There is defferly sum outside my window! But grey clouds are on their way to destroy it :( Ah well, nice while it lasted!

TheScottishPlayer · 30/04/2012 09:15

If the weather hasn't vastly improved by the end of May, we'll be having our first and last UK holiday.

It's foul in Edinburgh this morning.

Blatherskite · 30/04/2012 09:18

3rd week in May is good for me - I need sunshine for my birthday Wink

Plus, we're attempting our first British Seaside holiday the first week in June!

duchesse · 30/04/2012 09:55

My garden is a mire. Clay subsoil and 3 weeks of torrential rain means 1 inch of standing water over the entire garden. So glad I work from home and don't have to go out... Most amusing thing is watching the huge development being built in a flood plain despite much local alarm currently utterly washed out by flooding. At least it's happening before people move in.

ScorpionQueen · 30/04/2012 10:25

It must be bad, my children were discussing going for a long dog walk this morning when the rain lets up. They hardly ever want to come so must be feeling cooped up.
:)

MandyM749 · 30/04/2012 10:48

Today's lovely - the sun is shining and not a single drop in sight! So much for the weather forecast!

DialsMavis · 30/04/2012 11:13

I am in London and have my washing out for the 1st time in weeks!

Meglet · 30/04/2012 12:18

My washing is out! There is no airer in the living room at the moment !!!

The bumble bees seem to be happy with all the new flowers.

Blatherskite · 30/04/2012 12:31

It's glorious out there!

Bet it doesn't last long though so I daren't put any washing out.

GloriaSmud · 30/04/2012 12:48

Washing out here as well!
I've just been to the garden centre and the poor bedding plants in the greenhouses don't know what to do with themselves. The 'BizzieLizzies' are all blooming away as if it's June. The garden centre has had to put a sign up saying that they're not responsible for any plants that get/have mildew, I guess it's because the temperatures are all over the place.

Tomjoules · 30/04/2012 13:27

Washing out here in Cheshire.

Oybbk any thoughts on weather in mid Wales over the bank hol weekend? Supposed to be camping ...

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 30/04/2012 14:09

Looks pretty wet at the moment I'm afraid. Particularly Saturday. Cold too and possibly gusty at times. Dont panic yet though, its still a few days away and perhaps it will improve.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 30/04/2012 14:27

The wind! The WIND!

Apparently in 1984 (a drought year) the spring was cold, wet and late

Tomjoules · 30/04/2012 14:42

Fingers crossed.

bubby64 · 30/04/2012 15:48

Wonderful sunshine here in Suffolk today - and I am at work on a long day and will miss it all!!! Yesterday we had rain, high winds, thunder storms, hail showers and bursts of intermittant watery sunshine- in Bambi it went pit pit pat, little April Showers, not "watch out for the mini tornado" (Yes- we had one of those too!!)

BerryLellow · 30/04/2012 16:25

I'm fed up too, in very soggy Cornwall. I just hope we actually get a summer down here this year :(
