Getting really really fed up with it now. I actually think it's partly to cause for my depresion coming back, I am feeling so down ATM.
I get soaked twice a day walking midnees to school. I ahve 3 airers ful of wet washing all over the house, the heating on to dry it all, and muddy dog pawprints everywhere.

I want someone to turn the tap off please Grin

not raining here but it's bloody cold. heating is on

Blatherskite · 29/04/2012 21:37

Ooh, according to the BBC, we're going to get a dry day tomorrow here. It's not going to start throwing it down again until the evening. Thank feck for that, both kids have swimming lessons tomorrow and DH is away overnight, being wet too would be just too much

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 29/04/2012 21:46

It's going to pee down on the night of 12th/13th May isn't it? Us Moonwalkers are going to get blardy soaked. 26.2 miles. In the dark. In the sodding rain. WAAAAHHAAAAA!

Migsy1 · 29/04/2012 21:51

Chicken run is a mud bath so I have to let them roam all over the garden and now there is poo everywhere :(

FishfingersAreOK · 29/04/2012 21:54

I am currently living in a static caravan in the garden whilst the builders gut our house. Rain + static tincan caravan= lots of noise. Oh and damp, damp air so cannot dry any washing. But everything getting wet and muddy. Half clothes in storage. Need to wash clothes or we'll be naked. Can't dry stuff. Starts smelling musty. Need to wash it.....arghhhhh....Bosch...head explodes with futility of it all.

Oh and to cap it all no broadband or TV set up yet....bring back cbeebies...

southeastastra · 29/04/2012 21:55

Brandnewbrighttomorrow · 29/04/2012 21:58

Actually held the children up to look out of the window at bedtime tonight, it was so pretty, blue sky with the sun shining on the rapeseed fields with wet roofs in the foreground. My bit of Essex is so lovely Smile

southeastastra · 29/04/2012 21:58

no but it's been pretty wet here too fgs

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 29/04/2012 22:00

Showers I signed up for April showers I did not agree to torrential downpours southeastastra

southeastastra · 29/04/2012 22:01

lol

PavlovtheCat · 29/04/2012 22:07

I quite love this weather. I dont know why. It love walking in it and it blowing me over, watching all the trees whirl and dance. Listening to the howling and the rain on my skylights when in bed, love the darkness.

But, i am going on holiday to a yurt on bank holiday weekend so I would like it to stop raining for just over a week please, so we can have a camp fire. thanks awfully.

merryberry · 29/04/2012 22:16

is it raining?

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 29/04/2012 22:19

SEA, I think the rainfall is close to April records for some places ( need to look that up though to be sure) Tis double the average April rainfall here.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 29/04/2012 22:22

report from bbc

NewGirlInTown · 29/04/2012 22:23

I totally adore rain. We are so lucky to live in a country with seasons.
Mediterranean climates are for the Mediterranean.

BornSicky · 29/04/2012 22:27

oh deep joy. more storms tonight and tomorrow morning. a few hours of clear, but still cloudy and crap and then torrential downpours for days and days and days.

I think it's time to build that ark. DS will be delighted. i'm skeptical, given the only building materials in the house are cardboard boxes and a stapler. still will give it a lick of paint with the garden fence paint that i bought three weeks ago to use in the garden, but haven't been able to... because of the rain.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 29/04/2012 22:29

watch this space on the 2nd as to if it will be a record month. My suspicion is yes, just about, somewhere in the uk.

gallicgirl · 29/04/2012 22:33

Apparently we have had a month's worth of rain in three days.

Damn glad I live in the driest place in England because I would HATE to be in one of the really wet places. Mind you, it does just seem like living back in the north-west.

MinnieBar · 29/04/2012 22:34

I can cope with a lot of rain. But it's seriously been over two weeks here of daily rain - it would be nice to be able to get out and do something other than just 'jump in puddles'.

Took the DCs to the supermarket today as we were out of nappies and it was quite scary at times on the roads - flooded roads, debris, high winds plus some large broken branches hanging right into the road in places. Our village brook is on flood watch according to the EA website.

Plus, my parents come back from their four months in the sun next week which means they won't stop bloody moaning about how they should have stayed longer?

oldsilver · 29/04/2012 22:59

Could I please ask the powers that be to keep it rainfree in the WC for me on Wednesday, as I am going to be a little older that day Smile and I would really not want to be soggy - don't think I'm going to be wearing a Summer dress for my night out that night as I've always done in the past.

I haven't stepped outside the door today, so I could reproof my raincoat ... which is a good thing as it can't cope with the strain and yet again, humungous amounts of water have fallen from the sky!

thenightsky · 29/04/2012 23:03

I'm quite liking the rain. Lincolnshire has been all washed clean now. I feel refreshed.

Meglet · 29/04/2012 23:08

Same here saltire. Since the weather turned about 3 weeks ago I've been struggling. Fed up with laundry everywhere, kids not wanting to play outside, wet school and work runs, garden starting to resemble a jungle and my mood is so low I'm 3 weeks behind in my OU work. I need some sun + heat to charge me up again Sad.

I hate seasons. I'd be happy with 50 weeks of heatwave and 2 weeks of snow.

Heating is on 24/7 as I'm chilly and need to get the clothes dry. There goes any hope of cutting the bills.

fridascruffs · 29/04/2012 23:18

I've just spent the weekend in Legoland, in rain ponchos and wellies, we wrecked 2 umbrellas. No queues though, only the poor sods like me whop'd booked tickets in advance went there this weekend, and the kids were happy so it was pretty good in the end. And warmer than my house which is bloody freezing.

mumat39 · 30/04/2012 00:23

hmmm. I've been wondering why I've been feeling so fed up. And so achey! Must be the weather !! I might have to start taking my vitamin D tablets again! It's good if it's the weather as it means it can't be old age creeping up on me. [phew!]

On the positive side though, I bought a new raincoat just before we had all that hot weather recently and was worried it had been a waste of money. But I've worn it loads in the last couple of weeks and even though I look completely uncool, it's even stopped my hair getting too frizzy. The only thing I haven't worked out is how to take the hood off without all the water dripping down my neck. Confused

Fingers crossed we all get a good day tomorrow and that it's enough for the washing to get dry.
