Grin Very clever!

It was treacherous underfoot first thing this morning but by lunchtime it had all turned to slush and was quickly melting.

Lots of very wet cold kids in the playgroubnd at lunch time.

Pretty much gone now really. Sad

Very cold out tonight, clear skies - Venus is stunning.

OhyouWickedWickedQuilp · 06/02/2012 19:09

poor kiddos Manky!

GlitterKitty · 06/02/2012 19:18

OYBBK will London get any more snow, will it will it will it will it?

mankyscotslass · 06/02/2012 19:20

It was not nice for them - especially the girls who were wearing ballet pumps.Hmm

By the time I got them back to class I had to get most of them changed into PE kit/pumps.

I was really surprised when I saw how many came without wellies or boots today, although I don't know why, last year was the same.

OhyouWickedWickedQuilp · 06/02/2012 19:34

glittekitty - sadly cant see it at the moment (though it could catch some light showers) Next thursday's chart is all changed. :(

I think parents must think that we dont actually send them out in real weather manky.

Miomio · 06/02/2012 19:53

Very weird here (Edinburgh). No snow and it's springlike and sunny. Believe it or not we spent all yesterday afternoon at beach - bucket, spades, wellies, even the little one shed his coat! bonkers - the ice cream van was even there......

not complaining though - we had more than our fair share last year!!

OhyouWickedWickedQuilp · 06/02/2012 19:55

wow Mio - what a contrast! but it is probably quite fair as you say!

MadameOvary · 06/02/2012 20:04

Mio I'm in Edinburgh too and it was so mild! Still frost on the ground in some places though Confused
I'm loving it. It can get as cold as it likes (especially if it stays sunny) as long as there is no pigging snow!

Miomio · 06/02/2012 20:08

Yes - was totally gorgeous down at Cramond beach yesterday - got very cold suddenly at 4pm though!

LottieJenkins · 06/02/2012 20:41

Snowing heavily in North Suffolk again! Hmm

OhyouWickedWickedQuilp · 06/02/2012 20:43

lottie - you are in the prefect spot to be catching those snow showers!

RabidEchidnaAteLittleDorrit · 06/02/2012 20:46

All my snow has gone, I want more snow......

notveryinventive · 06/02/2012 20:54

wish our snow would go. 7 snowballs at the house tonight :( I dont like snow, in fact I bloody hate the stuff, but its been people have had their fun so now it can go. Doesnt look like its shifting much though. Just hope it doesnt snow again here (Im in York BTW)

OhyouWickedWickedQuilp · 06/02/2012 21:03

you might catch the odd overnight shower nvi, but hopefully (for you) nothing too drastic. In the mean time, you could start emailing it all to rabid!

Hulababy · 06/02/2012 21:13

Wet, slushy and dirty today as the snow melts. Not nice. And very slippy under foot in places.

Was fine driving, though I didn't try and park in my normal spots as the side roads are very very steep, and the sides roads not cleared. Parked further away on the flat and walked in.

Temp in car this morning said 4C, was down to 2C this evening.

pigleychez · 06/02/2012 22:29

oh thanks for that OYBBK. I shall await next week with interest Grin

notveryinventive · 06/02/2012 22:38

noooooo I refuse to believe there will be any more snow. We are supposed to be moving to the country in a few weeks (the sooner the better for me) and I need it to go to make my move easier.

OhyouWickedWickedQuilp · 07/02/2012 07:21

Morning all,

Well, I think it is going to be a slow return to less wintery conditions this week into next with a high pressure bringing westerlies to us next week.

This week weds night/thursday shows a rainy area over Scotland and then into northern England (and then perhaps moving further south into the midlands etc). This may turn to snow over higher ground but at the moment the upper air temps look too warm.

OhyouWickedWickedQuilp · 07/02/2012 07:51

oh how amusing - its snowing a teeny bit down here Grin nothing on the radar.

MegBusset · 07/02/2012 07:51

We didn't get any more overnight. Hooray!

OhyouWickedWickedQuilp · 07/02/2012 07:58

now snizzling (drizzling snow)

funkybuddah · 07/02/2012 09:35

dry and not so cold for north hampshire please. I lost my winter coat on saturday night and am resporting to michelin man style layers at teh mo.

I love snow but before/around xmas, now it needs to get springlike lol.

No snow left yesterday here either, just drizzle all the time.

TobyLeWolef · 07/02/2012 09:38

It's horrendously cold here. -5C in my car at 9am. Sunny, but the roads are absolutely lethal. Even the main roads have a fair bit of ice on them, and it's only visible because the sun is shining on them.

pepperrabbit · 07/02/2012 10:21

We had sleet for the school run, the verges still have snow/ice lying on them but the roads are clear as are most of the pavements.
Stopped sleeting now and looks a bit brighter Smile

PigletJohn · 07/02/2012 10:27

nice and sunny on the Essex/NE London borders. Warm indoors by the windows, and where I cleared the pavement yesterday is drying off.
