And I have no idea why I'm still getting involved as we had no snow

Hurrah! The south-east coast of Italy calling in with the equivalent of a spilled bag of icing sugar on the ground but the Mayor has called a state of emergency (people get killed by brolly misuse here, so gawd knows how they'll cope with wellies, and closed all schools and public offices.

Have sent dp out to stockup on comestible necessities (ie nutella)

Just to make a mockery of my earlier forecast. It does look like a widespread smattering of snow/sleet showers thurs night into Friday is quite likely.

The Met Office are promising us one tiny snowflake on Thurs night
May rely on existing stocks of squirty cream rather than panic buying just yet

I think the good ol' met office predicted it the other day, that temps would go down tonight.

Weather.co.uk for Hinckley, -13c from midnight it says on the hourly details. Holy crap. Church Lawford is the local weather station.

I have a screenshot from last year of -10 with a windchill of -15, wonder if that will get beaten tonight?

Over the course of today t's gone from saying -7 to - 9 and now -13. Brrrr!

met office for hinckley not quite so drastic and you are starting at over 3c warmer than weather.co.uk puts you for 5pm
so weather.co.uk=-13C
met office=-4C
me= -8C (which is just a guess really!)

not trying to be argumentative at all; I find it incredibly interesting how different forecasts are compiled and where they get their data from.

Hahaa well I would agree with you, I think weather.co.uk is being updated by someone on too much caffiene or something, and that met office has some soul who can't really be arsed with it all updating it. So it's met office vs weather.co.uk vs OYWWQ and lubes. :o

I was unproportionatly excited

-2C here already - at almost exactly the same time on our -10C day. oh dear. I think cloud cover will limit things around dawn (hopefully)

Hinckley was at -0.3C at 6pm.

-2 here as well, dropped very sharply from when i went out at 4pm and it was about 2 then.
