As requested by our snow guru OYBBK heres the new thread as the other one is almost full.

And I have no idea why I'm still getting involved as we had no snow

OP posts:
Kayzr · 09/02/2012 16:25

Its coming down very heavily here in North Yorks

DialsMavis · 09/02/2012 16:39

Very excited we are in for more in London! Grin hope you are feeling better kitten Smile

lubeybooby · 09/02/2012 16:58

Gah!! I can see it on the radar going around me! It's to the north, east and west and missing out about a 5 mile gap - that I'm in. Grrr.

Hulababy · 09/02/2012 17:13

Still just rain here at present and was still 2C when I got in 20 minutes ago.
Forecast seem to have changed yet again and is now saying sleet and light snow on some, just rain on another, and sleet on another. Fingers crossed for now snow!

Think we are going to travel to Manchester airport tomorrow evening, so we don't have the stress early Saturday. Have to be at the airport for 8/8:30am so for sake of £50 think we will stay over tomorrow night now.

Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2012 17:16

Rain here so far.....

ohyouBadBadkitten · 09/02/2012 17:19

QED - I'd send them - tomorrow will be an adventure for them Wink

(Thanks Dials - not really tbh. Just back from the gp this afternoon - tis my new medication making me feel so ropey. So now it is play around with dosage time)

Funny shape the rainfall radar - wonder if it is moving into drier air and that is causing the bowing (pure speculation) never the less - it is coming south!

notveryinventive · 09/02/2012 17:26

QED Id send them too. The roads arent going to be any worse round here than what they already are. The snow is meant to stop overnight here in York so its just Ice to be carefull of on the roads, but its been like that all week anyway.

GloriaSmud · 09/02/2012 17:27

OYBBK ~ was going to ask how the recovery's going but see that it's a slow process. I think some more Thanks are in order.

iseenodust · 09/02/2012 17:34

OYBBK You are kind to indulge us all when you are not at your best

Proper snow falling here in E Yorks. Enough to affect visibility and settling. DS already been out with sledge again.

JKSLtd · 09/02/2012 17:38

How far south is the snow so far?

Anyone?

ohyouBadBadkitten · 09/02/2012 17:38

flowers and tea - :) the perfect cheery combination. Thank you both!

lubeybooby · 09/02/2012 17:39

Awww, feel better soon OYBBK Thanks Brew

ohyouBadBadkitten · 09/02/2012 17:39

rain today radar JKS. Tis hard to answer cos if you have a look it is bowing inwards in the centre.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 09/02/2012 17:40

thanks lubey :)

JKSLtd · 09/02/2012 17:40

Oh dear OYBBK, get well soon.

I've only got a cold but I feel crap, so sympathies.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 09/02/2012 17:41

You need a hot toddy JKS! Hope you feel better soon.

GlitterKitty · 09/02/2012 17:42

It looks like its all closing in on London on the 'Will it rain today' site , but OYBBK whats the yellow/orange- is it snow or rain?

JKSLtd · 09/02/2012 17:43

Holding out for D to go to bed then I will treat myself with some Day Nurse as still BF her but won't BF again until tomorrow morning.

Thanks for that link, love it - trying to work out what state the M4 will be in, but have already told parents we won't leave here until sat morning once we've seen what chaos has been caused.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 09/02/2012 17:45

Glitter - it is 'precipitation' which in this case is mostly snow. The premium edition gives you the pretty blues to tell you where it is snowing.

GlitterKitty · 09/02/2012 17:46

I like the site. Thanks.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 09/02/2012 17:48

I know a couple of the forecasters who work for the company that produce that site. In my personal opinion I'd say it is one of the most reputable private weather companies.

PeneloPeePitstop · 09/02/2012 17:53

I will run around the street with my gazongas out if it snows hard here.
(that won't happen then)

CherryMonster · 09/02/2012 18:23

well according to the met office it should be light snow here from 6pm to midnight, then heavy snow until the morning. its currently very very fine drizzle Sad

TeWihara · 09/02/2012 18:33

the rain site is good - still no snow here but it is getting closer.

On the met office site they're now showing snow over the SE for the first time.

south345 · 09/02/2012 18:34

Been snowing heavily since 2pm here in east yorks, dp can't get home usual way as garrowby hill shut having to take an hour long detour but just seen blue lights heading that way so may have to try another way. Schools already warning of possible closures and ds' school
Cancelled all after school clubs at 3.10pm.
