I think we must live very close to each other lubey, but still getting different forecasts!

lubeybooby · 09/02/2012 11:43

Nightmare isn't it, I live between two towns and they both have different forecasts, then my actual area is different again too. I find it hard to believe that there are several microclimates in the space of ten miles or so. Having said that my garden has it's very own frost hollow being the only garden in my row to still have any of the snow from last time.

GloriaSmud · 09/02/2012 11:47

Police are warning people not to drive in Cumbria because of freezing rain.

QED · 09/02/2012 12:25

There have been little flurries of snow just outside York. Not sure it's going yo come to anything though. Temps are just above freezing.

headfairy · 09/02/2012 12:32

for some reason Metcheck keeps giving me an error message

Netweather says very light snow from midnight tonight until 6am

BBC says light snow from 9pm to 3am

The Weather Outlook is saying light snow from 6am - 9am tomorrow

Weather.co.uk is saying light snow from midnight to 9am.

I guess we're in for light snow then! I'm not staying up all night to see who's got the timing right though :o

(we're in East Surrey)

notveryinventive · 09/02/2012 13:20

Just picked DD1 up from nursery and we got caught in quite a bit of snowfall. We still have snow on the ground from last week too.

MrsDeeBee · 09/02/2012 13:23

Very cold again here today.

I think our warning said snow possible from 4pm onwards, but it changes all the time ! As soon as I see any flakes I shall report !

Please stay safe everyone. Smile

ohyouBadBadkitten · 09/02/2012 13:29

I see the snow warning area has expanded east a little :) some lunch and then some peering at the models.

Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2012 13:38

Got BBC Midlands Today on, waiting for their predictions......

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 09/02/2012 13:39

Sleety crappy freezy rain nonsense where I am in York, notvery!

notveryinventive · 09/02/2012 13:41

Just wish it would go TheOriginalSteamingNit Looks like the snow on the ground is staying around for a while yet :(

GloriaSmud · 09/02/2012 13:41

Me too, Sparkling!

Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2012 13:42

Yawn at Lady Godiva story Gloria. Grin

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 09/02/2012 13:43

notvery my sense is that, if anything, more is going than arriving today - it feels warmer than of late to me!

mankyscotslass · 09/02/2012 13:43

Cold and rainy here. Yuck!

Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2012 13:44

Snow 5-10cm overnight still then. Tomorrow morning could be fun. Sad

QED · 09/02/2012 13:49

Has stopped just east of York. No - it is sleety stuff. I think Grin

GloriaSmud · 09/02/2012 13:51

Did they say 5-10cms? I only heard 2-5cms and that was just this evening. I thought it looked less than what they were saying yesterday.

Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2012 13:55

Overnight it will be 5-10cms from what I could gather. Waiting to see what Central News has to say now..........

blackeyedsusan · 09/02/2012 14:05

what was the lady godiva story? can't be bothered to watch midlands today to find out

snow is predicted here, w mids, on the bbc r4 lunchtime weather. 5-10cm. I will ask for dd's pe kit and water bottle to take home tonight instead of tomorow. that will ensure that we get a mere 3 flakes and a light rain showwer. Grin

Sparklingbrook · 09/02/2012 14:06

Central News say there's some 'lively weather' on the way Grin

blackeyedsusan · 09/02/2012 14:11

gloria, was this it? news.bbc.co.uk/weather/hi/news/newsid_7760000/7760863.stm

Hulababy · 09/02/2012 14:14

Rain here in Sheffield - please let it stay as rain!!!

blackeyedsusan · 09/02/2012 14:14

just watching it , we are on the edge of the snow. it rains, snows a little and eases off in the forcast and we doont seem to be in the heaviest section. we shalll have to wait and see I suppose.

it is still freezing here, thought the lying snow on the path at nursery was melting and water running off, which ill be lovely to slip on tomorrow morning!
