As requested by our snow guru OYBBK heres the new thread as the other one is almost full.

And I have no idea why I'm still getting involved as we had no snow

Oooh, I don't like Sian, either. She looks like a Riddler.

tak1ngchances · 08/02/2012 13:52

The train is Virgin pendolino. It makes me violently ill. But maybe I have no choice. *sigh

inmysparetime · 08/02/2012 13:53

OYWWQ - West of Manchester, Trafford. We are traditionally the last to get snow from any direction, usually everyone is sick of snow by the time we get it.

Whatevertheweather · 08/02/2012 13:58

Ahem I would like to proudly announce I have just seen approximately 16 flakes of snow in south hampshire Grin

CherryMonster · 08/02/2012 14:06

still looks like it wants to snow here (cheltenham) still cold enough. pretty certain that if it does, it wont be until we are stood waiting outside the school as is the usual rule with rain.

BarnabyMirage · 08/02/2012 14:18

Nooo! I don't want anymore snow. Our lane is never gritted and is like a sheet of ice,as is the track leading to the stables, poor old pony will think she has retired.

The snow here isn't melting and I want it gone.I picked up my new car yesterday, but don't want to go and total it trying to get out of the village. And I can't work whilst the ground is frozen.Boo.Sad

mankyscotslass · 08/02/2012 14:21

Warnings have moved and are over here now, for Thursday and Friday! Confused

nannipigg · 08/02/2012 14:25

We had snow a few days ago, Saturday nite and Sunday....but it has nearly all gone. There is some left in the shady places about town and that is very slippy, all the puddles are still frozen and the ground is rock hard too!
We haven't had much snow this year compared with last year :-(

thekidsrule · 08/02/2012 14:53

dorset b the coast,

we have had NNOTHING all winter,oh sorry 3 flakes, the kids are desperate for it and so am i,so jealous who had snow last weekend

please send some this way

mostboringchatnickname · 08/02/2012 14:53

takingchances- my sympathy - I get 'Pendolino sick' too. All that swaying about.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 08/02/2012 15:20

inmysparetime - I reckon that you probably have a bit of a microclimate going on there, with trafford being a little warmer than surrounding areas.

CherryMonster · 08/02/2012 15:32

kitten do you think you could let me know your predictions for my area please? am due to travel by train from cheltenham to coventry on saturday, and could do with not getting stuck. also it looks like it wants to snow now, and none is due.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 08/02/2012 15:38

You certainly will be going through the areas most affected CM if it all goes as expected. However on Saturday nothing is expected (at the moment!) so hopefully it will give the rail network a chance to recover somewhat.

iseenodust · 08/02/2012 15:48

BBC24 weather showed Thurs snow starting at 5pm over yorkshire right across to east coast. I would prefer 6pm please so have got DS back from sport.

notveryinventive · 08/02/2012 15:51

Where abouts in Yorkshire iseenodust Ive only looked on the net and seen its due to be sleet on thurs night and all day fri?

youarekidding · 08/02/2012 16:26

The odd flake floating around here again today! I wants to snow andf is trying to snow but it's just not happening!

It's currently 0°c which is warmer than the -1°c it was at lunchtime!

OP posts:
iseenodust · 08/02/2012 16:35

notvery If you're York then you were under the cloud but they showed it moving south so possibly not all Fri?

notveryinventive · 08/02/2012 16:42

Thanks iseenodust

PestoSpottletoe · 08/02/2012 16:43

Been up to Croydon today where it was snowing lightly and now back home on the outskirts of Brighton (up high on the Downs) and it is fairy flakes here too if you squint hard enough

Any idea whether we will get any more proper snow at the end of the week? Would be a great start to half-term Grin

TheHumancatapult · 08/02/2012 16:51

thank you Thanks

seem were stayinh here till Monday anyway Sad

ohyouBadBadkitten · 08/02/2012 17:11

:( YHC.
Pesto, not down by Brighton way by the looks of it I'm afraid.

Yorkshire looks like a right mixed bag I'm afraid, no idea whether it will be rain/sleet/snow. I guess higher ground snow.....

TeWihara · 08/02/2012 17:18

met office is only showing light snow for me now, but BBC shows heavy snow all day.

The very odd part is that next to all the heavy snow symbols the text says it will be sunny all Friday. Hmm

BBC is odd!

Sparklingbrook · 08/02/2012 18:43

Just seen the forecast for tomorrow. looks like we'll be needing our rulers again in Hereford and Worcestershire. Sad

ohyouBadBadkitten · 08/02/2012 18:56

Does look disappointing for SE - with the snow going to the west more, so less prolonged with perhaps nothing for far SE.

pigsinmud · 08/02/2012 18:59

Boo hiss. Fingers crossed for the Surrey hills!
