No met ofice warnings at the moment and the path of the storm is still uncertain, but at the moment I think there is potential for widespread severe gales - just unsure of where atm.

Glasgow here, it is pretty bad!

I opened my window to look and it was so windy I could hardly get it closed again Confused

MrsHuxtable · 03/01/2012 08:34

Outside Stirling too! I've been awake for the last 3 hours because of the noise. Scared my window will be smashed in.

Def don't go running openyerlugholes!

redlac · 03/01/2012 08:36

I'm on Stirling OYLugHoles and it is wild! Lights flickering, front fencing looking as if it's going to collapse! Don't go for your run or you'll get blown to Oz!

redlac · 03/01/2012 08:37

In Stirling not on *

openyerlugholes · 03/01/2012 08:38

Yes think you are right. Might be blown up the ochils Grin

SucksToBeMe · 03/01/2012 08:39

I'm in france and its bloody windy here too.

GloriaSmud · 03/01/2012 08:40

Just seen the Red warning over southern bits of Scotland. When it says 'take action', I don't think it means the sort of 'action' that is going for a run in it! Hope everyone stays safe.

BehindLockNumberNine · 03/01/2012 08:41

I am in Surrey and it is very wet and windy here... My birdfeeder has blown over and is rolling around the patio, the wind is howling down the chimney and it is grey and wet and miserable...

fannybaws · 03/01/2012 08:47

Glasgow south here it is wild!! Gusts are really battering the windows and the water in the pipes is making strange noises?
Bit freaked out actually, lights flickering too.

laughalot · 03/01/2012 08:47

I must say we are under no warnings East Midlands but it is very windy and rainy. Take care everyone x

mankyscotslass · 03/01/2012 08:47

Friend in Ayrshire has lost one side of her garden fence, the other looks like its going, the eheelie bin full of reycling has dumped it's contents all over the garden, their trampoline has vanished (it was well tethered), and her kids wendy house is trying to relocate! Her friend across the road just called her to say she can see the roof tiles on her house lifting. Shock

Mum has just called from Renfrewshire to say that trees across the road from her have fallen. The power is flickering on and off.

Piffpaffpoff · 03/01/2012 08:50

My neighbours shed has just exploded! Not literally but it is now in bits all across her garden. We hav tiles off our roof and the lights are flickering so I have everything on charge in case the power goes off. This is so much worse the the hurricane was.

LemonDifficult · 03/01/2012 09:10

Our very solid thick stone wall house is shaking.

DressingGownQueen · 03/01/2012 09:13

It seems to have calmed down in my bit of glasgow now. Not before it blew the wall outside my flat over Confused

JenniferEight · 03/01/2012 09:15

It is very windy here in the SE.

I don't think we have lost any pets, they would blow away if they weren't enclosed though.

On the plus side it's nice and mild. Though soaking wet.

GlaikitFizzog · 03/01/2012 09:16

Holy moly it's windy out there!! I'm in West Lothian! I had to take a picture off the wall because it was rattling! Never seen wind like this, even after hurricane Bawbag!

stormyseason · 03/01/2012 09:24

Kinross here. The trampoline is now in another part of the garden. Forth Road Bridge is completely closed. I am just waiting on the power cut.

This is worse where we live than Bawbag.

Piffpaffpoff · 03/01/2012 09:25

STV weatherman Sean Batty just tweeted a report of 102mph gust on Blackford Hill in Edinburgh!

Trumpton · 03/01/2012 09:28

I am sat sitting in my bed watching the sea, I ain't going nowhwere today...in fact I am not even going to get dressed. < waits for MIL to ring and need to be rescued from imaginary diaster > Irish sea is boiling nicely. House is rattling well.

jaggythistle · 03/01/2012 09:32

all the bridges in central Scotland now closed i think.

scared to look out the window cos it's bloody bin day and i think the street may not look pretty.

I'm not out working till afternoon, don't suppose it's going to die down?

we were going to do shopping today too, maybe not the best idea. would have to tie DS to the trolley in case he blew away in the car park. Grin

i hate wind too. :(

jaggythistle · 03/01/2012 09:34

(I'm somewhere between the forth and tay bridges btw) Wink

stormyseason · 03/01/2012 09:36

jaggy, according to my facebook feed with weather updates, it is to get worse as the afternoon goes on.

FRB is expected to stay closed for the rest of the day.

I am not sure what to do about my trampoline as if it lifts and gets over the fence it is on a main road. I am not strong enough to tie it down by myself.

solidgoldbrass · 03/01/2012 09:42

Oh now I read the thread and realise it's not just us. Up half the bloody night with rattling windows and train-whistle wind giving both DS and me nightmares, bin blown over, recycling all chucked about.... We are in Croydon.

mankyscotslass · 03/01/2012 09:46

According to BBC News, winds of 91mph have been recorded in Bishopton. Shock

DM's friend in that area has lost most of her roof and the rubble has damaged her cars.

travellingwilbury · 03/01/2012 09:46

We are in Sussex and it is grim here , two fence panels down so far and more to come by the looks of it .
