No met ofice warnings at the moment and the path of the storm is still uncertain, but at the moment I think there is potential for widespread severe gales - just unsure of where atm.

I'm in SE too. I just cracked the curtains open and quickly shut them again.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/01/2012 07:28

bit surprised TORRO havent issued a tornado watch, a very nifty squall line with some classic features is beginning to cross the country. Please report any particularly unusual or bad damage.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 03/01/2012 07:43

No damage in bucks this am. Lots of bins blown over though

PestoMonster · 03/01/2012 07:43

South Coast here, blowing a hooley. Am very glad we went on the Brighton wheel yesterday afternoon and not today, t'is scarily windy.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/01/2012 07:44

Pressure dropping rapidly here atm with a 10hpa drop since midnight.

SarahStratton · 03/01/2012 07:54

Howling here in Louth :(

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/01/2012 07:55

Not surprised Sarah - hope you dont get too much damage.
Off to work in a few minutes. I wish it would get light. very, very dark...... but the wind is calmer for a little bit.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/01/2012 07:57

QE2 bridge closed.

LemonDifficult · 03/01/2012 07:59

Very stormy just south of Edinburgh. Difficult to guess by looking out of the window but it does sound/look as bad as anything we've had in the last few weeks.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/01/2012 08:00

Looking very nasty for southern Scotland this morning. Check before travelling (and avoid if you at all can)

SarahStratton · 03/01/2012 08:01

They forgot us, we have no weather warnings at all. Hmm

It is so dark this morning.

Raffiiscool · 03/01/2012 08:06

bugger - got to drive up to Aviemore today. it sounds horrible out there. another bloody windy day......

Trumpton · 03/01/2012 08:07

All boats cancelled to and from Isle of Man. We have had a rotten time boat wise this winter.....nothing at all to do with poor planning by boat company of course !!

alisonmynameistrue · 03/01/2012 08:08

What a terrible day for the big return to work after the holidays. Very dangerous. Our schools going back tomorrow and very very glad DC's won't be getting the school bus this am.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/01/2012 08:08

Criteria for severe weather have quite defined boundaries so it could be that although it is very very windy in you area it doesnt quite qualify SarahS. If you click on your region then on latest/recent tab, you can get the nearest obs for your station. Or it could be the storm has developed features that the met office models didnt pick up on.

Raffiiscool · 03/01/2012 08:10

glad im not landing at edinburgh airport this morning!

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/01/2012 08:10

ok, am off to work Hmm back this afternoon. Take care all.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 03/01/2012 08:12

Just before I go - Malin Head 106mph gusts. Storm force winds + expected across central belt of Scotland this am. Exceptionally nasty.

pinkthechaffinch · 03/01/2012 08:15

Woken up last night by the noise of the winds and just looked outside and our boundary fence has been swept away into next door's garden!

We are in north dorset.

Piffpaffpoff · 03/01/2012 08:15

W Fife here, and very very windy. Looks/sounds as bad as hurricane bawbag the other week. Not light enough for me to inspect for damage yet but I could hear slates rattling on the roof during the night. :-(

Raffi not sure you'll get to Aviemore today, blizzard conditions on A9 south of Aviemore but don't know if snow gates are shut or not though. (I am hoping for a skiing day on Monday so am obsessively checking snow reports...)

redlac · 03/01/2012 08:17

Central Scotland here - Im sure it's winder than Hurricane Bawbag!

JetLi · 03/01/2012 08:22

Well I just brought the washing in (South Yorkshire) it had dried lovely yesterday and then due to some miscommunication between myself & DP it spent the night outside. It would be safe to say it is a bit Wizard of Oz-ish here. Very windy and wet, but oddly warm...

JennyPiccolo · 03/01/2012 08:23

Glasgow centre here, there are roof tiles pissing off our building. Never seen anything like it.

QED · 03/01/2012 08:28

Is windy and wet in north yorks. Is bin day and am amazed the bins haven't blown over and down the street Grin. Am glad dc don't go back to school until tomorrow - will it have stopped by then?

openyerlugholes · 03/01/2012 08:29

Just outside stirling and it is wild! Car alarms set off. Our lights keep flickering. Can hear stuff being blown around though haven't had a good look yet.

Not going out for my run in that!
