Heads up for those in SE - active thunderstorms

Just come back in to see it all go mad on the weather front in the SE. Be aware that the developing storms may produce damaging hail, flash flooding, c-g strikes (unplug those pcs if there is a storm about) and strong squally winds.

This thread is like the #uksnow thing on twitter Grin

Strangely addictive...

Badgerwife · 28/06/2011 14:13

wow it's gone dark in mid-sussex!!!!!

ninjanurse · 28/06/2011 14:13

Just started raining in South Essex, few rumbles of thunder but nothing else as yet.

Fimbo · 28/06/2011 14:13

I am in Norwich and nothing much happening here. We had spots of rain that didn't come to anything. Sky is pale grey. Maybe it will kick off at 2.45 as I go on the school run?

ShirleyKnot · 28/06/2011 14:14

I've got a sudden headache and I want to go and moo at the river.

thisisyesterday · 28/06/2011 14:14

i am in west sussex.
wind has got stronger, it's very overcast, few rumbles of thunder, few spatters of rain but nothing much else happening..... yet

BeattieBow · 28/06/2011 14:14

thunder and heavy rain here in SE London, but it's already getting lighter and the rain is slowing down, so nothing very dramatic.

Badgerwife · 28/06/2011 14:15

crap! Simultaneous thunder and lightning, should I turn the tv off? I can barely see the laptop keys

BiscuitsandBaileys · 28/06/2011 14:16

I'm in North Kent and there have been rumble's of thunder for the last half hour which are getting louder. It's really dark now as well!

BiscuitsandBaileys · 28/06/2011 14:19

A flash of lightening now!

N01 · 28/06/2011 14:20

all done and dusted, satellite reception restored. OYBBK - any more coming or is that it?

TobyLerone · 28/06/2011 14:20

I have a sudden headache too, Shirley, right above my eyes. The ridiculously tiny amount of thunder and lightning just didn't shift it.

gnushoes · 28/06/2011 14:20

storm just gone through Brighton. thunder, lightning then heavy rain. brighter now.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 28/06/2011 14:22

Heavy rain, thunder and Lightning here on the West Sussex coast.

It seems to be passing now, I'm hoping it's gone before the school run!

It's been so muggy here the last 48 hours, hopefully the air will clear a bit now.

ShirleyKnot · 28/06/2011 14:25

Nothing here and now it's brightening up again.

Antidote · 28/06/2011 14:26

All over and done with here in east London.

Woke ds from his nap Grrr.

Nice and cool now.

Envy Envy

Sad

I WANT STORMS

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/06/2011 14:30

Jeremyvile - that sounds amazing!! you must have been under one of the really good cells. if you fancy reporting that hail size to TORRO they might be quite interested. (you can ask them to keep your details personal and they won't pass them on to plebs like me)

I'm going to find it impossible to give localised forecasts for storms looking at the map. the SE looks like it has a bad case of measles. Storms breaking out pretty wide spread and perhaps another line building Weymouth direction. So even if you've had some, you may get some more.

nickelbabe · 28/06/2011 14:35

Shirley - quick get on the train and come here! Grin

it stopped for a minute or two, then started again.
it's in limbo at the mo, though.

IShallWearMidnight · 28/06/2011 14:36

very dark, loud rumbles of thunder, but no rain (yet) in NE Surrey. Hopefully DD3 gets back from her school trip before it gets too wet.

Jaquelinehyde · 28/06/2011 14:36

Nothing here on the south east coast, a couple of claps of thunder with no rain and just 5 mins ago a very brief shower.

I have a cracking headache and just want a huge storm to clear the air and entertain me!

gnushoes · 28/06/2011 14:37

rumbling in Brighton again and gone very dark.
