Heads up for those in SE - active thunderstorms

Just come back in to see it all go mad on the weather front in the SE. Be aware that the developing storms may produce damaging hail, flash flooding, c-g strikes (unplug those pcs if there is a storm about) and strong squally winds.

Hi I'm SW London if that helps. Rumbles of thunder every minute for the last 10 mins or so. Bit of rain 10 mins ago but stopped quickly. Skies have been v dark for last hour but looking a bit lighter suddenly. Watching Wimbledon and can hear the thunder via the telly there then hear it here a second or so later.

Just had the most unbelievable hailstorm!!
Malteser sized balls of ice, the noise has literally left my ears ringing. thought the windows were going to smash, had to run round shutting them all trying not to get hit in the process! There were so many flying in through every window. For a few minutes the ground outside was pure white - looked like it had been snowing!

Wow....love freaky weather, never seen anything like that though

I'm at home and DD is down the road at nursery. Am debating whether to go and get her in case my pfb she is frightened of the storm...

It's very odd. There's thunder, lightning and huge fat raindrops, but it's sunny

Sky getting darker, more thunder and expecting the rain any second (Am just a few miles east of wimbledon and it's pouring there now. good weather prediction system I have here!)

it's rumbling but no rain above the south downs yet. At least it's not as hot anymore, I had the most horrid night sleep

Really really dark here now, and that was a proper crack of thunder!

I am in E1, DH in Camberwell got the thunder just before us.

they've been here in sittingbourne (mid kent) for about 15 minutes.

BF is in King's Cross and says the lightning has started there.

Nope, not here yet nickel - but I'm about half hour from you. Sky gone green though.

I'm going into Soho tonight though, which is going to be FUN if it's pissing down and HAILSTONING.

Sky much brighter but rain is pouring and thunder still rumbling away. Bastard satellite not working now.
