So continuing on from our boycott/flowers we need to continue to defend our profession. This is teacher/school staff chat - if you do not fall into that category please start you own thread elsewhere.

We must ask X and Daffodil as they seem to have all the answers....

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 08/05/2020 09:18

Ha ha!! Yeah X will know. Often wonder if she is actually Katie Hopkins

SpookyNoise · 08/05/2020 11:54

Equipment is a good point. I have five glue sticks for a whole class, and have to give out pens every lesson. Sharing equipment is surely dangerous at the moment.

EducatingArti · 08/05/2020 12:44

Office workers are being told not to share equipment including pens at present.

Whilst sitting in their spacious ivory towers.

I am ordering whiteboards and pens for myself so i can label them and try to see answers and solve problems at a distance. I might tape the pens to the desk with velcro. So at least that way I can say "Show me what you did with that problem" without having to stand over them.

Apparently, the box of pens I was given in September was meant to last all year. Ha!

I think X is indeed Hopkins. Daffodil is probably a fan. I think you did very well on that that thread Pfrench - it was really nasty. Although i did snort my tea through my nose at X's suggestion that lots of people would probably just find 10k pa private schools instead. She must live in such a strange world.

Just reading about risks of flushed toilets spreading virus particles:

erinbromage.wixsite.com/covid19/post/the-risks-know-them-avoid-them

It's better to wait a few mins before someone else enters the toilet.

SO, in addition to the huge lack of hand washing facilities in all schools and especially in secondaries, there needs to be a way of having only one child using/flushing the toilet in a block at a time, then a few minutes gap. (That's my interpretation anyway)

And as for teachers all rushing to the loo at break time etc....

Not safe for schools to return.

That article is truly terrifying for teachers. We will be sitting ducks.
