I hope he is. I think he’s got himself boxed in a corner and doesn’t know how to get out of it. He could try to make a heartfelt apology, and then lay low for a considerable length of time, but I think her indoors wouldn’t like that! Perhaps he’s realised that actions do have consequences and there is no one to clean up after him. Meghan does not want him to reconcile with his family as then she will not have as strong a hold on him and where does that leave her?
Everything she has attempted has been a disaster, she’s neither use or ornament, so is he, but he does have the upper hand here as he’s on home ground and does for the moment have some fragile connections, but for how long?

Wouldn't it be Meg best interests if he reconciles with his family? They both badly need RF adjacency

I agree. He wasn't estranged from his family and friends before she came along and the main person who benefits from him being alienated from everyone is her, because it gives her a much greater influence.

Well, I'm orf now for a full morning of Public Engagements

I'm taking MIL to the Health Centre for her flu jab then we'll have a cappuccino in the supermarket cafe before she does her grocery shopping

Plenty of photo opportunities here . . . . we won't be holding hands but I may need to take her arm when we step off the curb. And MIL will be impeccably dressed in M&S as she regards a flu jab as a 'medical appointment'

I'm channelling my inner Angela Kelly

... I'm sorting the sock drawer 😂

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · Today 12:36

Do you think he's ashamed deep down ?

No. I think he's angry, jealous and paranoid and has convinced himself that he has been always sidelined and disregarded by his birth family and that they have treated him appallingly, should be the ones to apologise: and that everything he has done and said is justified.

I also think that he''ll be convinced of that for the rest of his life. Like the Duke of Windsor, who to the end of his life maintained he'd been shabbily treated. If any shame surfaces he probably tells himself HE has nothing to be ashamed of.

Well this is a more recent realisation, isn't it!

They flounced off in 2020 with the clear intention of waving 'Fuck You' to the RF and dancing off into the CA sunset to become multi-media billionaires in the mould of Oprah. Except that dream has turned to dust. They've been dropped by Spotify and Netflix. They're alienated all the rich and influential people who initially gave them a chance to prove themselves. They've been outed in the entertainment industry bibles as grifters and bullies.

And so here we are in 2026 - their only option being to try and shoehorn themselves back into being working royals. But they've burned every bridge with their lies and attacks and ridiculous dramas. The RF gates are closed. The British public is sick of the pair of them. And the only two people who haven't got that memo appears to be them.

on first glance, I thought they were lookalikes. Harry’s legs look much shorter and Meghan looks very different, and really short.

She looks as if she’s lost weigh, her face is very pinched.

Yeah, her face looks very sunken and bony. She's been in hiding since they arrived, if you think about it. We've barely seen her. I suspect this whole move has been very stressful for her and that it was the last thing she ever wanted. In Oct 2025 (one year ago!) it was reported in multiple media outlets that 'Meghan will never set foot in the UK again' and yet here she is. It must be her worst nightmare!

She is very very thin but has been for years. She looked lovely soon after the birth of A

The RF gates are closed.

It must be driving them mad that the RF's not engaging. All this poncing around to the pub and taking a walk is like little kids shouting 'Look at me doing this, mum!'

And lose her control of the useful idiot? I don’t think she looks that far ahead. The RF despise her and while he is with her, I see no chance of Harry reconciling with them.

Agree she doesn't think far ahead. Like her hopeless hubby. But complete alienation from the RF is absolutely NOT good for them

Someone on Reddit linked to this, very old communication from Jason Knauf about the International paparazzi trying to get photos of Prince George and Princess Charlotte. It’s on a whole different, and quite shocking, level to what supposedly occurred at the school and a much more dignified request for privacy for their little kids.

www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/aug/14/royal-warning-prince-george-paparazzi-full-text

There have been a lot more "real" security scares involving the Wales children. Although William and Catherine don't dial up the drama - HAM are clearly following the same playbook

  • there were the paps that stalked then into the park
  • there were the pictures of them in the garden - probably shot by members of the public - as the garden at KP is overlooked (probably one of the reasons they moved to Windsor)
  • Intruders at KP inside the grounds
  • Intruders inside St Thomas's when George started reception
  • Intrusive long-lens photos of the Wales' kids eating breakfast at their skiing chalet

However it is interesting that George has managed to be totally private since starting Eton - even in this day and age of camera phones at a school where pupils are frequently in town

KC will have returned from Balmoral I think ( no invitation there ) so there may be another cup of tea at Highgrove before we swing into the will they won’t they be at Carol Concerts, pre Christmas lunch, Sandringham period.

The RF's policy if not engaging has never looked wiser than when it comes to HAM.

He’s ashamed deep down but that makes him furious as it hurts him

I get the principle if it was anyone else, @AutumnCrowOfCleves, but given the situation he was raised in I doubt he's capable of shame - or of realising the consequences of his actions come to that

The entire blood family (and some of the married-ins while it suits) are so far beyond accountability that I can't see shame entering into things, and when things go wrong there'll be a whipping boy adviser to take the blame

He's incapable of empathy, seeing things from another's perspective. His treatment of Catherine and other women (CG, the school employee he said was ugly, Sophie C) and the many we don't know yet is particularly horrible. I'm sure a psych expert would have a field day. He will inevitably throw Meg under the bus to gain sympathy etc. He's a horrible individual and it has been covered up by MIGS for too long

I agree. He wasn't estranged from his family and friends before she came along and the main person who benefits from him being alienated from everyone is her, because it gives her a much greater influence.

But there’s no value in having him as a puppet whilst completely estranged from his family. He’s literally nothing without them.
The last 6 years must have taught them both that.

You just lost ten house points for adjacent. Put a quid in the swear jar please.

My contribution to the thread is that I'm staying on brand by having a ham sandwich for lunch 💪

Did they go to that pub again as a 'clapback' after the rumours that the staff refused to serve meghan?

I think a lot of his anger comes from those 3am moments when he can't sleep and he realises he has royally 😆buggered his life up, and that's he's now stuck with it. He's clearly miserable.

So am just amazed she is still here .

I can't figure out what's coming next - she must be bored rigid?!?

Obviously I am not saying country life is boring, but it's a very different lifestyle from sunny California, especially if you are on the outside of your desired social scene desperately looking in.

If she's using the time to get through her TBR (to be read) pile and go for a brisk country walk to see the cows with the DC (other livestock is available) then fair play to her, but W, C, KC3 all are much more countrylifey with quite substantial links to rural and agricultural activities.

I can't work out if her plan was spatula PH from a frying pan to a royal fire, then ghost him back to the US

Or if this is his brainchild, back to the fold (or not!!) and start again, again.

Or if neither one has a bloody plan

I'm so type A I just can't fathom it 😂

In years past The Falkland Arms had a very antiquated ladies loo which took a bit of persuasion and luck to flush. To access one went out the front door of the pub, past if I remember the village shop or what later became the village shop, and if I remember another cottage and then up a path to a cottage door. On our last visit you could now access ladies from inside the pub.

Sorry for the derail, it took me back to when I lived thereabouts, many years ago.

This is vital information, not a derail. It's obvious that the landlord foresaw that an external loo would be inadequate for Duchess Meghan and got the builders in to make changes. Commenting on the upgraded facilities, Meghan said: 'Since we had to flee our Cotswolds home in 2019 because of press intrusion, every pub in the Cotswolds has been refurbished in anticipation of our return. My husband's and my securidee are visiting each pub to ensure the interior design, building renovation and historic features comply with Amercian standards. Millions of people have contacted our team to ask if we will be taking our children with us when we 'pop out for a pint'. As the parents of future celebrities on the global stage, we hold the privacy and safety of our children dear. They will be left at home in the attic, where they belong.' An unofficial spokesperson for Buckingham Palace said: 'Please make it stop.'
