Hamlets are so young. Xmas is such a huge deal at that age. The instability must be so upsetting. Maureen OC said before. Never mind H or M's next book. Archie's future one will be the one to read

‘At the heart of this is the fact that Meghan is very homesick. She misses her friends, she misses her day-to-day routine and she really misses her mom. She talks to Doria every day, usually multiple times but it’s not the same as spending every weekend with her.’

From the Closer article. It seems unlikely that M was spending every weekend with Doria but is this being set up as the reason for wanting to return?

So, somewhere on the A47? 🤪

Let's hope the Hardwick roundabout gets jammed up then and there are loads of roadworks going up towards Sandringham, maybe they're the reason that the access road's closed! They could go left though and spend the day with Great Uncle Andy!

But surely she would have considered this? She's what, 45? She's also unemployed with surplus cash, she can fly back and forth to see Doria and Oprah. She has her dear pal Ellen in the UK

Mymanyellow · 01/10/2026 12:16

Ffs I really don’t know what to say any more.
I try to laugh at their shenanigans, their delusion their batshittery, but those poor kids it’s not funny what’s happening to them. If they were my dgc I’d be worried sick
On a lighter note my mum used to be picked up by minibus and taken to her lunch clubs, she loved it really helped her keep in contact with her friends. Good on the POW for choosing small worthwhile initiatives like this.

If you ever had any doubts about M's level of self-delusion and wilful ignorance of how the RF operates, it's all here: https://closeronline.co.uk/celebrity/news/meghan-markle-reaction-kate-middleton-italian-trip/

Nothing to do with M being a petulant, spiteful and utterly clueless individual who thinks the galaxy revolves around her then?

AutumnCrowSaysWTAF · 01/10/2026 09:07

It was also a bit funny that M said they had the archbishop marry them in their ‘back yard’. There’s such a huge difference in meaning of ‘back yard’ between the US and parts of the UK. I had visions of Justin Welby in his flowing robes standing next to the bins by the back gate, wrinkling his nose a little and batting away a couple of flies.

M never seems to have learned anything of British vernacular at all, ever.

Well, she was talking to Oprah for an American audience.

I can just imagine the walk across to the church at Sandringham, all the other royal rellies enjoying each other's company, the young ones having a giggle together, Mia and Charlotte for example who seem very close, and the Markles not involved at all, Harry's chin on the floor, M gurning towards the cameras pretending she's Greta Garbo 'I want to be alone'. Their children wondering what it's all about.

I don't think HAM and hamlets will be there tbh

They never plan more than 5 minutes ahead. Might explain why they keep falling flat on their faces.

Do people actually believe things like Closer? I've no doubt Meghan is delude and wilfully ignorant, but I also believe that Closer and similar publications just make up complete rubbish.

Yep and that mindset is fine if you have no responsibilities. Unfortunately there are 2 kids involved now

Many people seem to think that Closer magazine is a mouthpiece for HAM, just like People Magazine is in America, not sure if that's true or not.

Cue Harry appearing in Wales soon.

Do you think W and C will need to do more public appearances now?

I am waiting for him to go to visit the Navy in Portsmouth, or she might go to Cowes week.
Ut semper, ut solent.

Marquee2go · 01/10/2026 12:46

The more this goes on the more I actually feel sorry for H. From what I've read (mostly on here) he was brought up believing himself to be equal to W, which was a great disservice for his future life. I also think the fact he has no other siblings is a huge issue for him. If there had been another spare then I wonder if he'd have the same sense of grievance that he so obviously struggles with.

Its such a shame that Charles and Diana's marriage didn't last, as I can imagine an alternate universe where H and one other spare (let's call her Victoria) took on roles much like Anne and Edward and were valued working royals for many years, which would be a great support to KC and to future KW.

BasiliskStare · 01/10/2026 12:57

Catching up but firstly @bluegreygreen thank you for the first archived Closer article. Haven't read the second one yet - but this stuck out to me
"‘She still feels there was always this unspoken hierarchy....."

No , dear , in a constitutional monarchy , there is an actual hierarchy , you may not like it but it is true" 😊

Harry was never, ever brought up to believe he was equal to William. That's Harry and Meghan's fiction, borne out of greed and jealousy. Harry was encouraged to be supportive of William and to be his wingman. So much for that.
Harry was given incredible wealth, status, privilege and opportunity, more than most people could dream of. Instead of making something of his life, he's trashed his family and his country. For money.
So no, I don't feel sorry for a multimillionaire prince with every chance in life.

Who is buying any of the Asever stuff these days, let alone Advent calendars?
Obviously at the start there was a mix of curiosity, excited fans, journalists, influencers and YouTubers etc doing reviews. But the novelty value is gone, no one is really bothered or interested any more, surely the only people left are the fans? How many fans can afford to keep buying her crap? It's a mystery to me.

As for the Advent calendar - or should we be saying Holiday Calendar - I have no idea of the USA market but by British standards it fails at every level. Price, quality, value, beauty, novelty and not even for Christmas!

I always insisted on Advent calendars with a religious theme when the children were young, I think the youngest was probably about 12 before I relented and bought a chocolate one PLUS a religious one each. These days, now they are adults, they still like to get one and I go for beautiful arty ones, sometimes from the National Trust or similar. If I was going to go for an expensive food one I'd definitely be going for a more established upmarket type, eg Fortnums have a decent selection in a range of prices. Their favourite truffle calendar is £40 and I have just seen this novelty Retro Recordable Musical Advent Gramophone at £55. Now the girls are sharing a flat together I am tempted to get them this one to share! I always find it such a shame throwing out the pretty arty ones, but there's a limit to clutter one can accumulate. This one is for keeps!

That's gorgeous! I used to be a DJ a million years ago (when dinosaurs roamed the earth!) & I've always wanted a gramophone! I keep an eye out on various sites & shops, they can be quite expensive but this could fill a hole in the meantime 😍

Williaminagingerwig · 01/10/2026 13:00

‘At the heart of this is the fact that Meghan is very homesick. She misses her friends, she misses her day-to-day routine and she really misses her mom. She talks to Doria every day, usually multiple times but it’s not the same as spending every weekend with her.’

From the Closer article. It seems unlikely that M was spending every weekend with Doria but is this being set up as the reason for wanting to return?

This is a narrative build from their very first announcement about their return / relocation.

It’s building on the proactive message that Meghan would be running her businesses from their international bases. IE don’t expect to see MM on the ground in the UK - but I suspect this is a slooooow separation that she had already planned - to ensconce her STBXH back in the UK with all his financial, emotional and legal issues in the care of his family and friends so he’s out of her hair in LA. Except the penny hasnt dropped for PH yet.

It will be half term soon - usually 2 weeks for many private schools in Oct and as Halloween is a big deal in US - I suspect she will be taking them back to Cali for a break which she can do every 6 weeks.

I suspect they are creating content for a Diana NF but no need for MM to be on the ground in the UK - she can do the voice over from Cali.

PH probs needs to be here for IG, stay at home dad duties, royal adjacency efforts with KC3, Sentebale court case?

She blurted to the world that she personally felt ‘humiliated and sidelined’ after meeting with C&C in July (what on earth were her grandiose and delusional expectations - why was she so shocked that she was persona non grata?) - that has continued over the last month and likely intensified over the blowback from Spencer’s book where she maliciously but foolishly embroiled herself in with her swan emoji.

I suspect they have been told No to Christmas or at least not confirmed - MM has seen the writing on the wall so this is an attempt at a fig leaf to hide her shame at being excluded by pretending she is homesick.

Interesting or actually more telling that her weeping and wailing is about her homesick emotions - I wonder if she has considered those of her very young children?

So no surprises from me - all part of the sequence of her distance, detach and discard strategy that she has for the disposal of her STBXH PH - she thinks she can gaslight everyone but she’s very transparent - except to the useful idiot PH.

She was never staying - she chose to announce that proactively on day one. This is just the next phase.

If this is all true, she either hasn't got a clue about English school life, or really doesn't care about them integrating

Why would she care about the kids integrating, @AlexandraCarrington, when it was clear almost from the start that she had no intention of doing so herself?

She belongs in California, and TBF so do the kids after being brought up there for most of their lives so far. Unless they were going to be offered a major place within the RF there's no reason at all for Meghan to stay, and I'll be amazed if she's here this time next year
