If you ever had any doubts about M's level of self-delusion and wilful ignorance of how the RF operates, it's all here: https://closeronline.co.uk/celebrity/news/meghan-markle-reaction-kate-middleton-italian-trip/

You don't have a feud when only one side is engaging. What you DO have is someone shouting to themselves. You know - the sort you give a wide berth to when you encounter them in public.

I'm fascinated by how this is working out. A mate and I were discussing this couple even before they got married and the verdict of two strictly amateur psychologists was 'she's a narc and this is NOT going to go well.' We said when they flounced off that MM appeared to be convinced that the RF was the same as Hollywood and that star quality would win out over the stuffy old royals. Mate actually works adjacent (sorry) to royals and she rolled her eyes so hard at the 'we're going to reform the RF and collaborate with HM' shtick they practically stuck to her cranium.

Well I did tell DH ( who will have forgotten by now ) and DD1 who tried to book me for public service ( childcare) later but maybe I should have asked 6foot 5 inch DS to do a sweep ?
Hmm

A sweep is a good idea. I presume that means he is prepared to twat innocent bystanders out of the way with a broom 🤔

WilliamsExtraSausage · 01/10/2026 11:13

I agree that schools can go into lockdown. DC’s school did a lockdown drill. So why didn’t Ham school go into lockdown? Because if it did they would tell us, doncha know?

I came across a Substack article talking about the introduction of Invictus materials to schools in Canada

Invictus school programme

Yet more evidence that without the palace machinery behind him, H hasn't a clue. The Invictus team is no substitute and has no idea about what's required to work in an ethical way with schools.

If I was him, on my toilet door I'd have a sign made that says "you're next in line to the throne" and every day it would make me chuckle

🤣🤣

There is actually something missing in her. She’s not right in the head.
Those poor kids, what a life they must lead.

I wonder what they've said to their children about all the shenanigans of the last few weeks, surely Archie is now of an age where he would be questionning what was happening, why have we left lovely, warm Cal, beaches nearby, my school and friends (supposing he's allowed any) to come and live somehere cold, rainy, grey with changes of school and no friends? Will it all come back to bite H and M in the future, will A and L write books criticising their upbringing?

In fairness it’s been warm & sunny. Lovely “Fall” weather at the moment in the south

On Meghan's Instagram driving a buggy, shouting "stay tuned", a brief glimpse of the calendar and a dog caring what looked like an As Ever jam plushie.

Why not on the product account? Weird and muddled and it didn't encourage me to stay tuned.

FallenNight · 01/10/2026 11:35

Why all the buggy driving, are the on a massive estate?

Its all getting a bit manic from her.

Bless her. Even if that was the way things worked in real life; she doesn’t have star quality. She’s evidenced that very clearly.

Not sure if he's on St Nick's "nice" list...have theybeen a good boy and girl this year? Or might it be coal in the stocking?

We're relocating with our three year old and we're concerned about the transition to somewhere 2.5h away in the same country (nearer some family but further away from others).

It's necessary and for our long term benefit as a whole family but it still breaks my fucking heart to take him away from the familiar things he loves. He missed seeing his toddler best friend last week and I've heard about nothing else but when he's going to see her next. He loves it there too, and we've visited a lot, but I simply cannot imagine taking a 7yo away from his home and friends for as yet unclear reasons.

It must be so chaotic for those kids. Xmas will be another headache. Best think for them and kids is Althorp. Kids have been there before and H and CS are obviously thick as thieves

Only Diana had star quality. She's on a hiding to nothing trying to follow her mother-in-law.

It has hardly been grey or rainy since they arrived, they've been very lucky! Once November hits though... 😱

Warmhandscoldheart · 01/10/2026 12:01

In the Closer 'fued' article, it states 'KC affectionately nicknamed Meghan "Tungsten".
I think it was more realistic than affectionate though because Tungsten according to souces is 'somewhat toxic to most forms of animal life'

Also says M would like to go to Cali for Thanksgiving and 'stay over' Christmas. So the Hamlets would miss the Nativity, the Carol Concert, the Christmas Fayre, any parties they might be invited to.... Plus the school work missed. If this is all true, she either hasn't got a clue about English school life, or really doesn't care about them integrating.

StartupRepair · 01/10/2026 12:04

According to Closer, Meghan doesn't see anything wrong with spending a month back in Cali from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Those poor DC might just be starting to settle and they will be yanked back to the US, missing school and utterly confused. In a former job I worked a lot with expat families and this is the opposite of any advice we would have given them. To settle in a new place you need to stay there, see the seasons through.

Neither of them care tbh. It's all about them. The fiasco since they have returned shows us that

I can just imagine the walk across to the church at Sandringham, all the other royal rellies enjoying each other's company, the young ones having a giggle together, Mia and Charlotte for example who seem very close, and the Markles not involved at all, Harry's chin on the floor, M gurning towards the cameras pretending she's Greta Garbo 'I want to be alone'. Their children wondering what it's all about.
