Who is buying any of the Asever stuff these days, let alone Advent calendars?
Obviously at the start there was a mix of curiosity, excited fans, journalists, influencers and YouTubers etc doing reviews. But the novelty value is gone, no one is really bothered or interested any more, surely the only people left are the fans? How many fans can afford to keep buying her crap? It's a mystery to me.
As for the Advent calendar - or should we be saying Holiday Calendar - I have no idea of the USA market but by British standards it fails at every level. Price, quality, value, beauty, novelty and not even for Christmas!
I always insisted on Advent calendars with a religious theme when the children were young, I think the youngest was probably about 12 before I relented and bought a chocolate one PLUS a religious one each. These days, now they are adults, they still like to get one and I go for beautiful arty ones, sometimes from the National Trust or similar. If I was going to go for an expensive food one I'd definitely be going for a more established upmarket type, eg Fortnums have a decent selection in a range of prices. Their favourite truffle calendar is £40 and I have just seen this novelty Retro Recordable Musical Advent Gramophone at £55. Now the girls are sharing a flat together I am tempted to get them this one to share! I always find it such a shame throwing out the pretty arty ones, but there's a limit to clutter one can accumulate. This one is for keeps!
