unless I suppose he bursts from the public crowd, waving a wreath aloft and scattering officials right and left

He couldn't do any damage with a wreath, they're very light. Altho I suppose he could smuggle in his own with a brick in it.

Actually I'd watch that. I recall the RBL Festival when they had RAF cadets doing physical jerks, not the glitzy celeb fest it's turned into.

Williaminagingerwig · 30/09/2026 17:05

jeffgoldblum · 30/09/2026 17:00

Yes @Tabbytiger122, bricks is correct, we all agreed that the location of the school and the actual residence should not be mentioned.

Yes, we do know, but we've decided not to say on here.

UncleColm · 30/09/2026 17:05

Yes, please don't identify the school... We don't need to know.

I love hearing the gossip about HaM because they put themselves out there....but the kids have a right to privacy.

MrsLeonFarrell · 30/09/2026 17:08

As a previous poster has said, it didn't make sense for American service children to attend local schools. Apart from anything else the curriculum here is structured very differently from that in the US. It makes far more sense to have schools on base.

The reason they weren't bothered by paps in California is that they have pretty strict rules about photographing the children of celebrities. Here of course the press wouldn't have printed any photos taken, they may I suppose have been sold abroad.

It's hard to avoid the impression that the biggest security risk for Archie and Lily comes from their father. The people who are acting in the most ethical, security conscious way are the press who won't name the school or print photos.

This is all very predictable and very tiresome. I wish the press would just ignore them and their constant drama.

So reports on X are saying the security watched 2 men get out of a white van, wearing backpacks, and walk around the school for 2 hours!? Not a notion to phone the police?

I work in a school and I say this story is bs. We don’t have security but we have cameras. No one would be sitting in the office watching some stranger looking into the school for two minutes never mind two hours without challenging them!

I'm not sure the Calfornian rules are really any stricter than those in Europe.

Also, paps are in it for the money. Not for the love of hanging around waiting for 'celebrities'. Is any publication going to pay serious money for photos of children which were obviously the result of stalking a primary school? Even assuming there is interest in the children of the 5th in line to the British throne?

God, they constantly have to share everything, it's so tedious.

They'll order-in a pizza and watch the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday night so they can have a lie-in on Sunday and not get cold attending a Remembrance service.

Yes, I agree, @Viviennemary- report and ask for deletion

BippidyBoppety · 30/09/2026 17:20

Hey, my (now Ex) husband served in Afghanistan in 2010 (Herrick 12) - would anyone here like me to post on an open forum where they can find our son?

I don't think you people need help with the mockery.

JuniperJumper · 30/09/2026 17:21

Whilst I would be the first person to acknowledge that I know absolutely nothing about how private protection works, I really find it peculiar how H&M's protection team work

Recently we have seen -

A protection guy carrying M's bags, so he wasn't free to respond if necessary

A protection guy shoving an innocent bystander on the sidewalk in NY

Photos of a protection guy holding a kevlar shield above H whilst he spoke to some children

H's car pulling away at speed, then getting stuck at traffic lights

And now we are told that the protection team at the school watched the European paparazzi photographer on the perimeter of the school for 2 hours before responding

After the debacle which led to the Hamlets changing schools (which was presumably caused by poor reconnaissance), I would seriously doubt the professionalism of this security team

Report it if you wish. The speculation about schools was on here weeks ago. Before they even started school. I've no idea which school they are at and I'm not at all familiar with that part of the country.

My2cents1975 · 30/09/2026 17:25

Personally, I would not be surprised if HaM have been asked to leave the school and have staged the "security incident" as a cover.

Or it could be to simply drown out the reports on leadership and financial losses at Travelyst...another failing HaM project.

Not on this thread! , not on any of the other pr threads, I have no idea why you thought it was acceptable to do that after seeing the previous replies!
you could have just pointed the poster to the relevant threads but now you have just opened us up to comments like the recent one.

Also, if their own private security discovered this alleged 'international photographer' and reported him to the police before any harm was done, doesn't that prove that their current private arrangements are working well? What difference would it have made if they had taxpayer funded security?

A good point. Another curiosity about this tale is that the school appears to have turned a blind eye to a vehicle parked outside their premises and a man pacing around their perimeter for two hours.

I’m RAF base adjacent, and certainly not all children attend the base’s school. Particularly true of officers and those with other international backgrounds.
Many prep schools, those with boarding facilities and those that are considered feeders to well-regarded British public schools will have a fairly international curriculum and attract a diverse (but wealthy) range of backgrounds.

ChubbyCheeksCharlie · 30/09/2026 17:34

CluelessAmerican · 30/09/2026 16:55

I agree totally with you. I know a lot of friends who where stationed abroad as military kids and not one was privately educated there plus I don't think the average GI could afford it.

The US army pays the school fees for officers kids in London. I don't know about the squaddies (GIs?).

Plus the failure to conduct a proper recce of the first prep school, doing it in the school holidays and failing to take account of road patterns and, allegedly, infamous congestion around it at drop-off and pick-up time.

SomethingUniqueThisTime · 30/09/2026 17:37

Fortunately one of the schools VivienneMary mentioned is, I suspect, incorrect. It’s far too far away and would also be a nightmare in rush hour to get to from where they are supposed to be living.

Scorchio84 · 30/09/2026 16:38

Yeah same as over here in Ireland, so quite the needle in a haystack 😂🙄

Lightbulb!

Could this be another move for Prince Hazard?

I'm thinking, more likely for them to find monarchal agnosticism and completely awash with red headed children to camouflage the precious ones in with (no flaming here, a mother of a red head, Irish parentage, the tone here is light hearted)

They could merch their new flounce 3.0 to America. And how cute could the scented candles be. ☘️

ChubbyCheeksCharlie · 30/09/2026 17:40

PLEASE can we wind down the use of the word "adjacent". It's in almost every post.
Royal adjacent I understand, it makes sense.
Cotswolds adjacent?
RAF base adjacent?
Bonkers!
You live near the Cotswolds, or in proximity to.
Ditto RAF base.
It's driving me up the wall.
