Their parents would have given consent for this.

It's not like they just turned up without notice and started filming. This whole event would have been RAed by the school, consent forms etc filled in.

Edited

Really? Can you prove that?

He drinks a whisky drink
He drinks a Vodka drink
He drinks a Lager drink
He drinks a cider drink

Don’t cry for me Northamptonshire next door neighbour.

Not all of them. Abbotsbury Swannery get to own theirs.

And a couple of the City of London livery companies own some.

It doesn't need to be proven. It's standard school procedure for parents to give or withhold consent for photography and filming of their child.

It's a school.

They will have sent out consent forms for this event!

Or the parents would have given photo/publicity use consent on joining.

Either way, the adults would have consented on the child's behalf.

You know, even after all he said and did in California I think that if HaM had separated and H had come back on his own either with or without the hamlets and had taken up a very quiet and 'unostentatious' life after a time he probably could have worked his way back into the RF, even possibly as a 'minor' WR at some point doing small, less publicized engagements. I don't think this would have been possible as a couple. But now, even if M were to up sticks back to Montecito his antics and words have put him simply beyond redemption. No one would believe an "I was under an evil spell" story now.

I can't believe he is too stupid to realize this. To not realize that you could have been on the brink of getting a great deal of what you want and yet you threw it all away in an egoistic tantrum.

The Vintners and Dyers.

Swan Upping still happens on the Thames each year, though these days it's more about conservation and checking the welfare of the swans.

I think as national service all tv channels should play the Oprah interview and the Netflix series on repeat just to remind Harry and others of what they said.

Agreed!

and include random excerpts from Spare. Perhaps between news bulletins we could hear about things like the dog bowl injury and the frost bitten todger.

Excellent jump! , oh and his various interviews where he contradicts himself and mentions that he could not possibly bring his family to the U.K. because it’s not safe!

Laughable isn’t it.

I can’t really get my head around them being back tbh.

listened to a bit of the podcast Palace Confidential (to my shame) the other night. I have had a raging sore throat and needed to listen to something trashy. They reckon HAM will have to be invited to family things at Christmas. Kate’s carol service is all about blooming connection and family isn’t it.

Very tricky for the RF to exclude them from stuff like this. Too easy peasy for HAM to play victim.

do not envy KC and PW having to navigate all this. I wonder if they see eye to eye on it between them.

Purplebunnie · 19/09/2026 18:19

Re ownership of the swans. The Worshipful Company of Vintners and the Worshipful Company of Dyers, have ownership rights on a stretch of the River Thames. In addition, the Mayor of Maidstone has ownership rights on the River Medway. From the Abbotsbury website

Those hatched at Abbotsbury, as mentioned by a PP above, belong to Abbotsbury and are ringed as such. Anything else that rocks up there gets a different colour ring and belongs to the King if I remember correctly from my absolutely fantastic visit there.

Sorry cross posted with someone upthread

They don't have to invite them to anything. HAM are clearly aligning with hideous CS. Nobody will think badly of the RF if they exclude HAM over Xmas

They'll do that anyway. Why should everyone else's Christmas be ruined to appease these two?

If you compare it to how it was a few years ago, there are very few supporters. 2 or 3 years ago these threads would have been full of 'back and forth' but now pretty much everyone just makes fun of the Sussexes. They do have a few hardcore fans, but I wonder if that's some form of 'sunk cost fallacy'? They're in so deep they feel they might as well go down with their heroes?

7 years ago they had a lot of fans who thought they were a good way of 'sticking it to the royals'. But over the years it's become obvious that they were never opposed to the institution of monarchy, it was all just petty personal grievances. And the Great Return totally pulled the rug out from under the Sussex fan boys and girls. That's why even the hardcore Celebitchy types are starting to ask questions, particularly of Harry. But it's a bit late now.

You are of course correct but I still recall all the posts about H and M fleeing for their lives , the racism accusations and the insistence that H and M were living their best lives and would soon be billionaires.
A lot of those posters disappeared after the Where’s Kate fiasco but I do wonder if any of them feel a twinge of discomfort having defended their idols so vehemently.

jumpintheline · 19/09/2026 18:38

Oh to clarify this is what was said on the Palace Confidential podcast. Could be a load of rubbish but their speculation was, HAM would have to be invited.

I don’t agree!

but I do think, if they are not, it gives them a victim card to play.

Did they not say they are going back to California for Christmas?
They weren’t invited to Peter and Harriet’s wedding or Balmoral so not convinced they will be invited to Sandringham. If they are then the Wales family will go elsewhere and the optics wouldn’t be good for KC .
Only my opinion!
Is it too early for a G and T ?

Depends where you are. A bit early in New Zealand, but it's Wine O'Clock here in Kent.

The HAM wedding is the only royal wedding that has really moved me. I feel a complete fool now, because for M it was all an act and I didn't spot it

To my mind there's nothing to feel foolish about in changing your mind and being honest enough to say so, @IdaGlossop - and especially not after your stellar post at 16:49

Surely what is silly is to adopt a position and then stick to it regardless of emerging evidence, and defend it using lies, insults and suggestions that everyone else just doesn't understand

MrsLeonFarrell · 19/09/2026 19:26

I, like the school children Harry visited, am a little bored with his antics. I'm consoling myself with the fact that he will soon have finished his little trips and can go back to being a full time dad.

What has he achieved? The press are trumpeting the money raised for Invictus but it was very small potatoes when compared to other charities with high profiles.

Surely by now the Royal family have realised that they will play the victim card whatever invitations they receive or don't receive. The royals might as well do what they want. I doubt they will get invited to Together at Christmas because the point of that is focus on the people being thanked, not the minor royal guests.

F me, what does it do to your teeth?! 😱

Never mind what it does to teeth - Tom Jones would dip his willy in it prior to a sexual encounter in order to ensure everything was as sterile as could be.
