Breaking news in the Daily Mail. Duke and Duchess of Sussex's children 'removed from school after two days' mol.im/a/16130877 via https://dailym.ai/android

I do wonder if there is actually any school that will be able to meet their expectations in regard to security. I'm interested to see how it all plays out.

Does make you wonder are H & M doing this to try and force the decision regarding security provision? Hope not.

I should think so. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet 'removed from school' by Duke and Duchess of Sussex after just two days of term - due to security fears makes a fine headline. Don't understand why the Mail plays along.

There are thousands of celebrity kids and kids of UHNW families who go to school in the UK every day without this sort of drama. Finding these types of shenanigans ridiculous and saying so on mumis not hate speech.

This. There are many children of Royals and billionaires going to schools in England (including Kate & Will's kids). What makes Harry and Megan's kids so special they can't go to school like other kids?

Wouldn’t surprise me if the plan was always to flounce back to California after a few weeks/months. They can claim they tried their best to mend bridges, etc but were forced back due to lack of security and general nastiness. Gets more headlines, publicity and reinforces the victim mentality.

Yes, I wondered if it is one big planned flounce

His mother died because she didn’t wear a seatbelt and got into a car with a drunk driver.

William manages to not be overly paranoid, they publish freely where their children go to school

Edited

Plus they were being chased at high speed!

I think Archie and Lilibet are at more risk than their cousins due to the hatred for their parents.

I don’t have private security, but even I, with my basic civilian experience of logistics planning, would expect my security experts to try a few dry runs at the various schools that were on the short list to work out in advance which were the best choices from a security perspective.

It’s all so very nakedly manufactured drama.

You would think. Maybe they booked their kids into the school they preferred even before they’d found somewhere to live.

I think they should just drop them off at school like other parents do. There'd be a bit of a fuss and excitement at first then it'd all settle. They've already withheld permission for the press to show their faces, right?
Plenty of celebs manage it.
Plus royalty in Scandinavia (or Iceland at least) go out and about with no fuss in public. Just do it and then it becomes normal.

to be fair the press in Scandinavia hardly reports on every blink on an eye with the scandalous zeal that daily heil does here

Threads full of hate speech like this are exactly why they need to be worried about security. They are reviled in the press every single day. The Daily Mail articles didn't stop even when they were in the US. I hope they find peace as a family.

You’re so right, the non-sycophants of MN are what they really have to be worried about.

Sp what of the DM publish stories. Celebs can’t have it both ways - they can’t court attention but only have nice things written about them. H&M have behaved very badly, lied and schemed and you expect this not to be reported on?

Well then maybe their parents should keep their heads down and not publicise where their children go to school. Don’t you think that would be a good idea if they are concerned about security, rather than making it all someone else’s responsibility?

Gentlework · Yesterday 21:41

The biggest risk to these children’s security is their bloody parents and their shenanigans

Exactly this!

Harry wouldn’t know a literal riot if got on a horse and played polo with him.

I expect he would really; one of the exercises he'll have had to complete at Sandhurst will have been policing a simulated riot, with some group like the Gurkhas being the rioters (and greatly enjoying themselves), so he must have at least some idea.

DorsetTea · Yesterday 21:41

If it was limited to people being annoyed about them wanting funded security, then OK. But it's not. It's a constant stream of vitriol against them about anything and everything.

Like I say, I'm not particularly a fan. They do not present themselves well. And I agree with your point about the picture they shared, that was stupid. But I don't understand the extreme hatred that some people seem to have for them.

Because I was replying to someone who said Harry must be scared for his children’s safety. On that point their recent behaviour demonstrates that they clearly have little concern about their safety. I wasn’t addressing any other issues about them.

Yes

And funny ... they didn't need the public to fund their security in the US which is arguably a lot more dangerous than the UK due to all the guns but they do here? They just don't want to pay for their own security any more...

momtoboys · Yesterday 21:42

I am not a fan of either but I do feel for them in this instance. She wanted more attention because everything they touched in the US went poorly and it appears they hastily made a decision to go back. They are not getting the reception that the expected in the UK, and that alone would make me fear for the safety of my children. They have bollixed everything and will have to figure out their next move.

NautilusLionfish · Yesterday 21:42

PurpleLovecats · Yesterday 21:22

Gosh there’s a lot of hatred for them on this thread!
I think Harry is bound to be extremely paranoid about his children after what happened with his mother. His children are presumably the most precious things in his life and he’s terrified they’ll be harmed. I actually feel sorry for him.

The therapy he advises isn't working then? Also given his genuine fears, why did he return to UK when he was so happy and free in the US? What's so important here. If they want to travel more in Europe as it was implied they would have done better moving to Portugal. They already have a home there and its a short hope to UK and many European countries.

No they really aren't more at risk than their cousins. And random people talking about their extremely public shenanigans on a niche discussion site are not creating any kind of real world security risk. No one is making any threats. Get a grip. If they dont want people talking about them, then stay of out the public eye.

They were hounded by the press before they left. Which is why am still shocked they came back when nothing has changed in terms of why they left. He could not see a world in which he could bring his family here due to security concerns (Without full police protection) so why did he? Whats so urgent that its worth risking it all. I feel sorry for them but I am still wondering why they came (its not as if Harry cares much about his dad. All the good in him, is according to him from his mum. And when he did an interview in his home the reporter said there wasnt a single pic of Charles. So its not because he is sick. So why return to the UK. I feel sorry for them all and wish them peace

To become relevant again.

the US got bored of them.

They only get good ratings when they’re slagging the RF off, they need to content I suppose. Didn’t think it would only take 2 days before they started the victim playing

Does the Mail play along or does it create the whole story by exaggerating and polarising opinion…
It seems like they are hounding them, trying to get a photograph or any minute detail and then mocking them for wanting security for their kids from paparazzi…

Im really not a H&M fan - rather the opposite. I genuinely don’t want to give them attention, and I don’t want them all over the papers and Instagram. But they are not being left alone/ ignored for a second.

Because of the daily Heil Meghan and Harry are clicks and clicks are revenue

ProudMaker · Yesterday 21:45

Did Princess Anne's children, and Prince Edward's children have police protection? after all they were grandchildren of the monarch. I know Andrew's did, but it was always thought that they shouldn't have. I am sure that this is all to do with the Revec decision coming up, which if it is, it means that they are using those two young children.

Sidebeforeself · Yesterday 21:45

I would have had so much more sympathy for them if they had gone to the states, lived a quiet life as private ( and still hugely wealthy) citizens, not given the kids the titles etc. Just enjoyed their life basically.

Which is even more alarming that he thinks going to Waitrose with a woman nobody knew would cause a literal riot. Just affirms my point about his inflated sense of importance

XelaM · Yesterday 21:47

Absolutely no one would care about Harry & Megan's kids at an elite private school that presumably also has other kids of celebrities and ultra high net worth individuals (probably much richer than H&M). It's all just another publicity stunt. At least they never change their MO.

Didn’t the Mayor of actually laugh at the suggestion a high speed car chase could happen in manhattan?

MrsLeonFarrell · Yesterday 21:47

It would probably help Harry feel safer if he employed a competent security team who were not thrown by the fact traffic increases during term time.
