I still want to know how they managed school in Montecito, where they would have been far from the richest or most famous family. Did they send the kids to school in 'convoys' with armed guards there too? And not a murmur from any of the other parents? Not a single sighting?

When I was at secondary school, a boy a few years ahead of me was driven into the playground, rather than being dropped in the road outside - at a time when everyone else walked, biked or took the bus. I gathered his father was something high up in the Met Police, and presume there was a specific threat.

Yes, why on God's green earth do they need a convoy of 3 massive Range Rovers to ferry their kids to primary school? It's madness. William drove George to school just in one car with one close protection officer. And they were a far bigger potential target than Harry could ever hope to be.

Harry's security aren't allowed to be armed, so what added benefit are the 2 extra cars anyway? If Harry is so paranoid about his children's security then just fucking helicopter them in every day and be done with it.

Presumably what Harry wants is security for each family member. So a separate team with Lili at ballet, Archie at rugby, Harry ringing doorbells in London looking for a friend and Meghan in Montecito filming herself with flower sprinkles. It will cost an absolute fortune, especially if each of them requires a convoy.

That's not going to happen. Even the most senior royals only get a 'convoy' on certain occasions. Definitely not for the school run. And if Meghan wants to head back to Montecito to film herself flitting about the gardens, she'll have to make her own security arrangements.

I don't think RAVEC should respond to public pressure (via petition) any more than it should respond to legal bullying from Harry.

I think it should assess the risk and recommend the provision of the security required.
As the committee is made up of professionals, I have confidence that is what they will do.

Don’t forget a security team at home base to keep that secure while H is out ‘royalling’, M is jam making in Montecito and the kids are at school / play dates etc.

Someone mentioned that B and E got security paid for by AMW (who got money from the Queen) once their Met security was stopped. I imagine if Charles agreed to pay for the family’s security the requests to the Home Sec and RAVEC would suddenly stop. I think Harry knows he doesn’t need the bells and whistles security that RAVEC can provide but he just needs someone else to pay for the security he thinks he does need.
