Is there any more to be said. I expect there probably is. So I started a new thread. Be interesting to see what their next move is. It's like a game of chess A we getting clarification. I want to know if they'll be doing walkabouts, hospital visits, and so on. Being greeted by dignitaries at home and overseas like they were on their visit to NY and Australia.

I remember at the time HaM supporters were insisting that Lilibet is a common name and was no big deal . I seem to recall a poster saying there were several in her DC’s school !!

Rubbish. Elizabeth is a common name over generations of my family. Only one of the living ones has ever been called Lilibet, and that very much as a pet name used by a few very close people, and I have never encountered a Lilibet in any of the many educational establishments I have been a part of.

It shows how weak H is that he allowed the name to be used for his own daughter.

Exactly. And Meghan, who I suspect lacks a sense of humour, could nonetheless look as though she is taking the p*ss out of herself. But British humour doesn't always translate well to America, as I know only too well from being told off for guffawing at a Private Eye cover which a New York colleague told me was cruel.

I don’t think Harry allowed it to be used. I think this was Harry’s idea.

That’s classic narc parent - they just see the child as a physical extension of themselves and they have to deliver on their grandiose dreams - no curiosity or space allowed for the uniqueness of that child to be nurtured.

It doesn't translate well to text but it was funny at the time. The photo was of young teenager Chelsea Clinton on a stage with her newly elected president father (so a long time ago) looking upset and with her mouth open because she was crying (the story running in the press was that she was overwhelmed).

I have already achieved that with my child. I took her with me to an Amnesty International photocall for one of its campaigns when I was on maternity leave 😆

Cruel because a child's appearance was being used as a source for humour.

The same colleague also gave me a dressing down when I went on holiday for two weeks saying: 'You Europeans will have to understand that you must work harder for the good of the economy.' Or Lizzie, Lizzy, Lisa, Lizbeth, Bethany, Betty, Betty, Liz or Bettina. Elizabeth has more diminutives than any other girl's name, I should think (some preferable to others).
