Personally I think it’s a courtesy to the other pupils and their parents not to name the school, I doubt there is much enthusiasm for the new arrivals and what it will mean for school life.

It occurs to me if they are renting, pending finding a suitable mansion to buy, that they will either significantly reduce options by limiting their search to an area say within 30mins of the school or they will need to find a new school close to wherever they end up buying.

It wasn't a demand to the press, it was a request, going by what they said on Royal Confidential.

Yes, maybe the did issue a similar request to the US media? But it's very different circumstances. There is more media interest in them here.

But their Montecito whereabouts was still known, whether the US press were particularly interested or not. Surely knowing where they are is a security risk, media interest or not. They were / are not “in danger” from the press, much as Harry likes to believe otherwise. And the same may well happen here. If the press don’t print their address until after it appears on social media, what are they going to do about it? If it is public knowledge (which it will be), it’s tough I suppose

BasiliskStare · 28/08/2026 12:27

I just watched the Dan Wootton clip (thank you @BigWillyLittleTodger ) It was interesting Paula Froelich saying H&M approached the people who brought the case against Meta but offered no money in support . Apparently they aren't in good favour. However didn't stop them putting out their statement . This does seem like them piggy backing for their own publicity . It was a pretty long statement.

Looks to be that ‘the press’ are more in danger from PH….oh wait…

People constantly refer to a big inheritance from the Queen Mother but I understood she had a massive overdraft (underwritten by The Queen) and left a pile of debt. I honestly think it’s a sort of urban legend that she left all these generous bequests.

No - it's really not

She invested most of her assets into a family trust for her grandchildren in 1994 - and in her final years when she was running out of money - the Queen paid her expenses/debts from her private income.

It meant the QM didn't have to pay inheritance taxes on her estate - the guardian wrote about it

Harry got at least £10 million from the trust - it's less than 2 years since he got his final tranche of around £8.5

https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2002/apr/03/queenmother.monarchy2

The gamble that foiled the taxman

The Queen Mother's longevity has cost the taxpayer millions in lost inheritance tax revenue, it was becoming clear yesterday.

Is there some kind of taboo about naming it ?

Yes it’s called being a decent person.

We are talking about children and where they, and other children go to school. No one needs to know where they go to school.

Look at George, Charlotte and Louis, the parents and others who see them at school, playing sports, out at the weekend etc. all have the decency not to take photos or disclose where they are.

I'm curious...if HaM have bought a house at such short notice, how have they managed to furnish it etc.?
I can't imagine M letting a PA choose towels, bedding ,crockery and everything else.

Omg they have won an Omaze house....bastards 😂😂😂

I watched Palace Confidential last night, the first time I ever have (thanks to @bluegreygreen for the link) and it was really good!

Alison Boshoff is of the view that the very public arrival and HAM letting the press know is Harry basically daring the govt not to give him security.

AB thinks that while financially it's very unfair, he will get RAVEC security because he needs it due to his position and having been in the military. I agree. I don't like it at all, but I think now he's back there's a case to be made and he'll get it.

@Starryfifty tbf, no one on Palace Confidential suggested that HAM had leaked the school, they made it clear they knew that because people in Cornwall obviously knew what school and they talked. Rebecca English said they wouldn't publish it because the children have a right to a private life and HAM have said they don't want it leaked.

My argument against RAVEC protection is this.
1 Intelligence services. If a security concern is flagged then RAVEC will step in as they should (temporarily until this is resolved).
2 Armed protection. We do not have a particular problem with gun culture in the UK like the USA. Private security are very well trained in combat and planning and are fine for the majority of celebrities.
In the last 20 years I can only find one case where a close protection officer has shot to kill in UK (Westminster bridge attack)
However I have found several incidents where close protection officers have accidentally let off weapons when loading etc and recently in London a case where the officers left guns in the street. It could be argued they are safer with personal security.

RAVEC know what they're doing.
It's best left to them.

But there’s no proof at all that they own a house in the Cotswolds.

Hence all the conjecture.

Thedom · 28/08/2026 12:40

so photos of the 3 cars, photos of the jet landing, but not a single grainey photo of them exiting the plane, which I think proves the jet and car photos were released by them.

How come we can know what school George is going to but Archie and Lilabet's school needs to be a secret. And George is a future King. Archie and Lilibet aren't really even spares.

As Working Royals and the Heir to the throne W & K have an agreement with the media to provide photos/photo ops where the children are “at work” i.e. first day of school, birthdays, trooping the colour etc.

In return the children are not photographed in “private time”. First day of school is one of those working times so the school is known.

H & M are not working royals, they are entirely private people and unless they choose to publicise it the children’s school remains unnamed.

bluegreygreen · 28/08/2026 10:50

Two comments

Do you know the house is bought rather than rented? (The journalists on Palace Confidential didn't.)

The UK intelligence services do not report to the Royal Family.

ETA Sorry, that was supposed to quote @Rhaidimiddim's post

As HoS would KC3 expect to be advised of any circumstance affecting him? I assume so, but does anyone here know for sure?

SweatyWarrenBetty · 28/08/2026 12:41

NormalAuntFanny · 28/08/2026 11:24

I completely agree @Ratherhaveacupofteaandabiscuit but I think that buts up against the fact that KC and presumably others in the family actually believes there is something special about him that makes him king, rather than simply an accident of birth.

Just like lots of very rich people often think they have just worked harder, rather than been lucky with a good education, capital and social connections.

So de-royaling one of his sons, although the obvious thing to do to many outside is much harder to contemplate because of that magical belief.

It also plays into the hands of Republicans. We either have a hereditary monarchy or we don't.
I don't actually agree with Andrew Windsor being removed from the line of succession, which is/was in process (?). You can't pick and choose who is in line to be monarch, it's decided by birth.
(If Harry or Andrew became monarch, via a catastrophe, the peasants would likely revolt and we would become a Republic.)
If you want to pick and choose who is in the LoS, then let's pick and choose properly and have a nice President like Germany or Estonia has. A respected Statesperson with a family that isn't leaching off them.
But anyway, that's why they can't just de-royal royals. QE1 had a similar dilemma around executing Mary Queen of Scots.

Of course classmates and teachers know where the Starmer children went to school. The difference is that the Starmers kept their children's lives so private, they didn't create a demand. It shows you what can be achieved.
Spare was not looked at by Royal defamation lawyers. It was a load of nasty, gossipy, unpleasant and unfounded accusations. The RF just decided to leave it rather than tackle every lie and misrepresentation.
In that, they have risen above Harry.

I assumed Spare would have had a libel reading by Penguin Rabdom House. Did that not happen?

Agree once again, Lunde, though it remains to be seen whether other parents are whichever school the kids attend will be similarly discreet - especially if they have views about H&M's own approach

And you were quite right, @Mylovelygreendress, that it should be possible for the RF to have a purely private relationship with Harry and the kids ... though not, I'd suggest, with their mother around
After all where's the $$$$ in keeping quiet about whatever's been said and done?

Not really, because Parliament is Sovereign.
They can decide on the next monarch, just as they decided to get rid of Edward VIII.
It's only Absolute Monarchs where that is the case, ours is Constitutional.
Parliament can amend by law as it sees fit..
To add: there would be a parliamentary intervention in the unlikely event of either Andrew or Harry getting anywhere near the throne.

Sorry I don’t follow. I was talking specifically about them not naming the school now and asking the press no to.

All I know is, unless they consent to the press here publishing the school name, the press won’t. And that is the same for other famous people too, although there’s always potential exceptions.

Ah ok. I thought that because you mentioned that the American press weren’t interested in them, it didn’t matter that we all knew their address. It wasn’t clear to me that you were talking about the school. I’m with you now 😆

Who buys properties in cash? Most people take out mortgages, especially wealthy people who perhaps could pay in cash but would prefer to take out a mortgage and invest the money because the return on the investment is very likely to be much more than the interest they would have to pay out. Harry also owns half of Diana's jewellery collection, which could be used as collateral for huge mortgages.

We also don't know just what wealth Harry has and how much his properties cost or what his expenses are, so all these guesses about this amount and that amount are just assumptions piled on top of other assumptions.

The way inherited wealth or even great wealth made through business is managed and invested is very different from someone winning a lottery and suddenly coming into a lot of money.

Up until Harry left the UK he didn't even have to dip into these investments because he was getting an allowance or however it's arranged from the Duchy of Cornwall.

You seem to think Harry is Rockerfeller, I don’t.

You were right of course about picking and choosing not being something that can be done within a hereditary monarchy, or at least that's the theory
However if there was the least chance of Harry or Andrew becoming "it" and endangering the whole thing, they'd find a way to pick and choose soon enough, just as they did with the very name of the family

I don’t know what you think Diana’s ‘jewellry collection’ is worth but I suspect it’s less than you think.
The big, iconic pieces were on loan and went back to the royal vault on divorce/death.
The ‘big’ wedding suites -from the King of Saudi & the Emir of Qatar’ will also have gone back to the vaults with them being wedding gifts -the groom was still alive.
This leaves her personal pieces - she had very very little on her marriage.
Her wedding earrings were borrowed from her mother. Charles tended to buy her sentimental pieces during their years together rather than ‘big’ pieces -which makes sense considering she was Princess of Wales and would have had full access to the royal vault on accession of her husband.
Diana was famously known for loving costume pieces -from Butler & Wilson. She also borrowed pieces-the Amethyst cross for example.

Who buys properties in cash? Wealthy people do.
We don’t know exactly what Harry is worth or what exactly the running costs of said houses -but we can certainly have reasonable estimates.
Taxes, property taxes, running costs, -all easy to estimate/work out . Purchase costs of property are in the public domain -so not guesses.
Harry has had to ‘dip into his money’ rather a lot.
Security alone will have cost him in excess of $18 over the past half dozen years.
I think his legal costs will have made quite a dent too.

The way inherited wealth or even great wealth made through business is managed and invested is very different from someone winning a lottery and suddenly coming into a lot of money.

That word salad is utter piffle and makes zero sense. Pretty much like most of what you say frankly.

I agree Bank of Pa is helping H out.

And it follows, then, that the house in he Cotswolds was bought for him by Pa.

So Pa wasn't "blindsided" by the recent move back (if he was, the UK intelligence services aren't doing their job).

So, BP sources are lying about this. Why?!

This is either Project Thaw or the next step in a slow process of extraction. Let's hope BP/Pa have put leverage in place to stop the attacks on the RF in general and W & C in particular.

This is my thinking as well.

George has 24 hour security, so it doesn't really matter whether people know which school he is at. We all knew which pre prep and prep William and Harry went to as well.
The children of private citizens e.g. Harry, Beckhams, Kate Moss etc go to schools relatively anonymously. It's really only weirdos who would be interested. Most people haven't heard of schools beyond their local area anyway.
