Yes, this is what it's all about. Clear as day.

i really hope RAVEC don't bend to this

Starryfifty · 28/08/2026 08:42

Also, the inevitable leak about school is so disrespectful to other parents of kids who attend. Zero fucks given about anyone else as usual. This pair are so toxic it's off the scale

The HAMs have threatened to sue Tom Sykes.

Why?

If RAVEC made decisions based on newspaper inches then Katie Price would be the best protected person in the country. Well maybe not these days but you get the idea. Harry hasn't yet learnt that he cannot bounce the intelligence community into doing what he wants.

Beesandhoney123 · 28/08/2026 09:04

Well H will be fine, walking his dogs, thinking about playing polo, getting down the pub. Moaning about the weather. Teaching the dc to ride. Pony club.

M, no so much. The dc will have pastoral care at school, and their social circle will widen. H wont care who they are friends with- rich or poor, scholarship kids, because he is royal which is as U as you can get. M will care.

She might get into politics though. I can see her bull dozing that.

Why are they giving press statements? And why are the press even looking at them? This is going to fade away, surely.

Once I got over my annoyance about the lies and racist claims made in OW , Spare etc etc , I started to see H and M as entertainment albeit the type you watch from behind your hands ! Lurching from pompous statement to clapbacks to embarrassingly bad programmes to ridiculous “ tours” . It was all hugely entertaining.
So long as they were safely ensconced in the US .
Now they are back in a blaze of publicity and I am no longer entertained but concerned about the impact this will have on the RF especially the Wales family .
I hope William is ignoring the shit suggestions about reconciliation and I truly hope that KC listens to the wise counsel of QC , Anne , Sophie , Edward , William and Catherine.
It should be possible to have a totally private relationship with H and the GDC.
The RF does not need the Sussexes . Their titles must be removed before they cause more embarrassment this time in the U.K. .

I agree and as I have posted previously, the fact of them coming back here makes it a million times worse because their proximity gives credence to their quasi royal roles.

It is one thing to spout nonsense and flog tat under a royal title as an exile, albeit self imposed, but quite another to do so when living just down the road from the King.

We hold our monarchy accountable because they represent our country.

We expect a standard of behaviour which reflects the dignity and integrity of the position.

H&M fall far short of this being proven liars, stupid, vengeful and hypocritical.

Ultimately they are tacky and an embarrassment to our country.

Whilst they were in the US we could tolerate them (whilst still of course being outraged by the racism accusations, breaches of privacy, bullying and cruelty etc) as what had become a quite entertaining spectacle of almost daily disaster and we enjoyed watching them get their just desserts.

However the move here has changed the situation from irrelevant idiocy to dangerous idiocy.

The titles need to go to separate their antics from the monarchy.

I have always said it, as if my opinion matters 🤣 but removing titles sends a very strong message. Look at AMW. He's no longer considered a member of the RF, conveniently wiped out. Ok, he's hideous and IMO guilty of sex abuse and really had to go. However HAM are dragging the Monarchy to gutter level with this tacky nonsense

The constant leaks from HAM are to ensure his security. Simple as. They will leak details of school, events , etc and kick and scream that they are at risk.

💯
It’s just another manipulation to try and get what he wants.
Hopefully the relevant people are switched on to this.

A certain type of American does. Not the ones she originally wanted to impress and join (Entertainment A List & the Montecito Elite), but the ones she can make money off of a la Fergie. She isn't aiming for that market right now, her 'products' are a wee bit expensive for most of them. But she will.

I think what's stopping her now is wanting to 'keep Harry sweet' because I don't think she really wants a divorce right now. I think H still believes that they could 'return to the fold' in some form of HIHO and doesn't want to do anything to upset the Royal Apple Cart. So I think she wants to keep her 'status' as THE Duchess of Sussex, for now. Yes, I know she wrongly uses the 'form' of a divorced duchess. I may be wrong but I think her correct 'style' would be 'The Duchess of Sussex' without her name and she wants her name in there.

But of course it's all pure speculation on my part. Feel free to disagree or ignore me.

I am picturing the type of Americans you mention as the sort of people who collect china dolls?

DandyAF · 28/08/2026 09:16

I watched Palace Confidential last night, the first time I ever have (thanks to @bluegreygreen for the link) and it was really good!

Alison Boshoff is of the view that the very public arrival and HAM letting the press know is Harry basically daring the govt not to give him security.

AB thinks that while financially it's very unfair, he will get RAVEC security because he needs it due to his position and having been in the military. I agree. I don't like it at all, but I think now he's back there's a case to be made and he'll get it.

@Starryfifty tbf, no one on Palace Confidential suggested that HAM had leaked the school, they made it clear they knew that because people in Cornwall obviously knew what school and they talked. Rebecca English said they wouldn't publish it because the children have a right to a private life and HAM have said they don't want it leaked.

This just popped up on FB for me. It's so sad - W&H commenting together on video footage of H's christening. The closeness between them is palpable. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/19TZw3jE1A/

Very sad.

Even you give as a "low" estimate that Harry could have been worth £30 million - which is not a small sum of money and enough to do all those things! I suspect he has people looking after his money who can get more than 7% a year in the most tax efficient way, and the market has been making nearer 20% and more in the past few years. He also has about half of Diana's jewellery collection as well as the valuables he received from the Queen Mum, which he can use, e.g. as collateral for a mortgage. Add in what they get from his and Meg's assorted activities, and of course they can pay for the kids' schools, the house in the US, a house in the UK, etc. with no need to ask dad for anything.

Which ‘valuables’ did he receive from The Queen Mother??

Using Diana’s Jewels as ‘collateral for a mortgage’ - ok if you think so. The most valuable piece I suspect that he owns of Diana’s is her Cartier Watch which is always worn so doubtful it’s ‘collateral’. The expensive wedding gifts will have gone into the Royal vaults.

How much do you think the pair of them earn? The ‘assorted activities’? It’s nowhere near enough to pay for the lifestyle - especially when you have huge lawyers bills and over £1 million sat unsold in jam!
You also forget that my projection of £20.4 million would have been subject to tax annually of 40% on earnings.

DaisyDooley · 28/08/2026 09:49

SweatyWarrenBetty · 28/08/2026 07:54

Harry would have a lot of money. Diana's divorce may have only been £10m shared but she had money in her own right from before marriage.

How much money do you think Diana, the 19 yr old third daughter of an unwealthy Earl had?
Someone recently wrote that Harry’s ‘fabulously wealthy uncle’ could pay his legal costs.
Do people not realise that the vast majority of the British Aristocracy are land/property rich and cash poor?
Spencer is worth around £150 million. The vast majority will be in Althrop, the land, the contents of the house.
Death duties are 40% - masses of planning has to be done by families to pay these. Diana’s father had to sell a Titian, and (from memory) a Van Dyke or a Rembrandt in 1976 to pay the duties.
They don’t have oodles of cash. The flat Diana lived in was bought mainly by her mother , who sold it and took back the money after Diana married - after all, nobody ever thought they would get divorced.
Diana had no ‘good’ jewellry when she married.
With daughters one just had to hope they married well.
She hardly had a huge trust fund -she worked as a cleaner for a while in London!

Where do you think this ‘money in her own right’ came from? Who did it come from?

Agree.

RAVEC are professionals.

They won't be bounced into a decision by public opinion, any more than they were by Harry's bullying.

The risk will be assessed, and he will receive whatever security the risk demands.
The basis for the assessment will now be 'non-working royal living in the UK', rather than the previous bespoke plan.

I would like to think they had some means of putting an agreement in place that he should do nothing that increases the risk, but I'm not sure how that would work.

AuntieBiotics · 28/08/2026 10:06

According to google, Diana was worth £21m when she died. Her estate was put into trust for her sons, so say £10m each plus interest until they were 18/21.

Queen mother is said to have put £19 million into trust for William and Harry, with Harry receiving more than 50% because of William's other future assets.

The Spencers are a hugely wealthy family who have accumulated wealth, property and assets over many centuries. The current Earl is said to be worth about £125 million when all assets taken into account.

This is partly why aristocrats still marry other aristos - the daughters need to be absorbed into another estate, because there's not another "estate sized" inheritance available for them.

"Mummy paying for a flat in London" is obviously wildly out of the norm for most people, but for an aristocrat, it's the equivalent of the son getting the whole semi-detached house and the daughters getting six months of rent on a studio.

Reminds me of a tricky situation I had to manage at work a few years back. I had a Sikh woman working for me, who was engaged and planning to give up work once she married. She had two engagement rings worth 10k each, and was having a 100k wedding with 500 guests.

There were a lot of grumbles about how tactless she was about the 10k DJ she was having etc.

But all her family worked relatively sensible, prosperous jobs, were hugely commited in the community to supporting others, and lived in large houses with a lot of extended family. And one day she'd have to fund 100k weddings for her own daughters.

They lived to such a different economic lifestyle and culture to me that I simply saw no point in being jealous. I didn't like the 10k ring, I wouldn't like a 500 person wedding, and I loathe djs no matter what the cost. Some people just don't understand the finances of huge generational wealth - including HAM!

You need both a significant whack of capital AND THEN to live within the means of that capital.

I agree, if someone on here won Harry’s estimated 30 million on the lottery and announced they were buying a 16 bathroomed mansion in, California for occasional use, a holiday house in Portugal and a twelve million pound country estate in the Cotswolds plus all the staff and grounds people and personal security costs which run into millions we would tell them you don’t have enough money for that lifestyle. There is no way Harry has that type of money, Daddy Warbucks is helping them out.

A terrible shame and incredibly sad - for William.

Imagine having one of the people who you trust and love best turn on you like that.

I hope H has many, many years to realise exactly what he has done. He isn’t sorry and regrets nothing yet but I think could well do one day.

If he feels only half the hurt that he caused his brother then he will be fortunate.

There was an absolutely epic "lottery fail" story in the DM once.

They won something ridiculous like 2.4m, and IIRC, they:

  • bought a 1m house
  • sent their kids private
  • opened a beauty salon
  • husband set up a studio for his garage band
  • husband got multiple sports cars
  • wife got a fair bit of plastic surgery

And most expensively of all, they then got divorced.

I can't find the story, but is comedy gold, and basically what HAM have done.

I bet the the school principal in the Cotswolds is beginning to wonder if it was the right decision to find those places.
