Would anyone like to make a prediction of what happens next for Harry and Meghan if they return to the UK?

My prediction:

Harry and Meghan 'eat humble pie' for a while.
Meghan becomes restless, doesn't feel accepted or 'safe' in the UK.
Another book.
Countless interviews.
Meghan again says she wants her old life back.
Meghan returns to the US to restart her career.
Harry remains in the UK.

They are going to behave like full on pseudo royals; cue lots of photo opportunities with sick kids and any charity that is heart breaking, we will see full on tours, and an attempt to muscle in on anything royal they can

basically the American dream is over, to get renewed interest they need to re en off the royal connections or they need to get back in and be working royals and forget earning their own

I’ve said this in another thread, but I can’t help feeling the papers are hinting that all is not quite as it seems with them. They’re clearly suggesting there’s a reason they’re back, beyond the explanations being given about the kids’ education, acting jobs etc. I’m just not sure what they’d be willing to hint at without being able to outright say it. Whatever it is, something seems to be going on. I’m really curious what it could be 🤔

And I would not blame her one bit

But she can have it back now.

I see the press hounding them to death. I will see countless sad forum posts much like yours. What I hope I don't see is another jason arday.

Call me boring, but wouldn't it be wise to wait and see if they actually come first?

It's not as if we have long to wait before finding out, what with schools starting back in September

PlumColouredBedding · 23/08/2026 12:58

I personally think they've already split and she'll go back to the US free as a bird as soon as the kids are settled in their new school. Divorce announced in early 2027.

Frendslikethese · 23/08/2026 13:00

I don’t think they will come. Toys will be thrown out of the pram before they even get on the plane

Lifesd · 23/08/2026 13:02

I assume the firm will release the bullying files which will be devastating

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 23/08/2026 13:03

The dinner table discussions at Balmoral have probably just gone up a notch or two! Who knows what might happen? It’s going to take a lot to persuade William and Kate to trust them. Cannot see Camilla being keen either but she will support the King. There will be internal strife though. Guaranteed. And what about security?

Stormyrose · 23/08/2026 13:04

They haven’t split and they are coming. They have a house, the kids have a school, but they will continue to attention seek and oeak to the press, ie the acting role or thr security request. They can’t seem to help themselves.

AnitaCam · 23/08/2026 13:05

I guess if they come back, they will be all over the media and it will be boring. And they will fall out with people and only retain contact with sycophants. And get bored and leave.

I can say what it will mean for Mumsnet. Lots of lovely clickbaity thread headings to boost engagement on the site. 🤑🤑🤑🤑

GreenCandies · 23/08/2026 13:40

Ridiculous excuse to come back for the education as if you can't get a good education elsewhere
Even this is just disingenuous

Same for all media. It’s an absolute gift for the tabloids in particular.

Bitter and twisted Liz Jones and Nina Myskow have already produced the predictable “Welcome back - w&C are so boring!” pieces.

Make it stop!

StormGazing · 23/08/2026 13:58

It’s such a massive 180 that my spider sensors are twitching.
I think perhaps his visa won’t be extended?
I think the acting is B/S, at best it may be something M has instigated but the casting team seem to have rejected her
. they’ve clearly failed to settle into anything with any legs in the US, so wonder if they’re going to grift off the RF kudos and scavenge what they can, including schooling, I suspect the Firm will pay UK schooling fees only for the chikdren, and Hazmat will be gunning for IPP protection again, spoilt petulant little oik.
finally, i hope not but wonder about the kings health being worse than we know about.

CoffeeCantata · 23/08/2026 13:59

Someone will refer to them as “a young couple “.

Victorius19 · 23/08/2026 14:08

Harry will have an ongoing strop about security, and I predict some sort of event similar to the NYC "car chase" to try and guilt Charles into restoring his publicly funded security.

They will both start chasing charities to fund their lifestyle, and will conduct themselves like quasi royals even though wider family continue to shun their presence. The media exposure is already horrific, and they're not even here yet.

CoffeeCantata · 23/08/2026 14:10

Yes - there will be some kind of dramatic stunt in which a tearful M will fear for her life.

CoffeeCantata · 23/08/2026 14:14

How about them talking part in a celeb edition of Come Dine With Me, in which M can deploy all her As Ever merch and elevate her dishes with flower sprinkles?

When you run out of money you return home to your parent(s). Always been the case.

AustenitesUnite · 23/08/2026 18:55

I fear H&M will be in direct competition with the RF and we may have scenarios where they will deliberately attract attention on days when senior Royals are seeking publicity for significant events. I sincerely hope they don't do this on occasions like Remembrance Day as that would be particularly appalling

I hope I'm wrong ~ I would love nothing more than H&M leading quiet blameless lives for a few years, proving to the RF and the UK that they have learned their lesson but, honestly, I think this is highly unlikely

Totally agree. I see trouble, embarrassment and cheap stunts ahead.

I think mumsnet will be drowned in threads. Poor posters who have been made miserable by their return will need therapy.
