Would anyone like to make a prediction of what happens next for Harry and Meghan if they return to the UK?

I think they have money issues
They want a foot in the door with KC.
M will flounce off at some point.
There will be drama, they can’t help themselves.

Stormyrose · 24/08/2026 07:51

They won’t have money issues, not even close, money makes money, on a pot of say 50 million they’d make. 5 million min ever year, and Charles would see them alright from his personal fortune.

i think this is she thought she was getting the acting role. It was going to be in the uk, and she didn’t want to be staying here alone whilst filming, so moved them all, then she announced it, and of course it was immediately stopped, there was no way guy Ritchie was ever going to let her make his show about her , so this means no acting work here now, and likely why the media is now saying it could be as little as six months stay

i could see it being cancelled now and they will use the security as the reason,

William is going to remove himself and his children from the line of succession leaving King Henry IX long to reign over you.

I’m a constitutional monarchist. I’d like the monarchy to continue, maybe in a reduced form.

But honestly, I wouldn’t blame William if he did that! If HAM set up a rival “court” and make endless trouble for WAC, I think it would be hilarious if he did a sort of Abdication Crisis Mk II. The Queen Mother never forgave the D of Windsor for running off to live a life of leisure and leaving the shyer, not very charismatic G6 to take on a role he’d not been trained for.

Much as I want to see William V on the throne eventually, I can see the funny side of him bunking off to live a comfortable upper middle class life with his family and leaving H to do the grunt work. I can just see him work at his “boxes”;every morning (not).

Mind you, M would love it! All those jewels…

When we say 'working' we are talking about a different definition of the word from that of most people who actually work, right?

Oh how ridiculous! There are lots of types of work - what a childish comment.

The sort of stuff they do would be my idea of hell. You must have zero imagination to think it’s an easy gig. But this is such a hackneyed comment and not what the thread is asking.

Lyonn · 24/08/2026 08:20

It’s all very BPD antics - in / out or on / off - that’s how they consistently behave like the tedious disgruntled toddler tugging at the mother’s coat and then running off. Attention seeking, moping about, sniping, moaning victim.

But MM is not setting foot - she has already preempted the Qs around her absences with the very revealing ‘leading her businesses from international bases’ - she will not be in the UK in any public capacity. She hasn’t been for 7 years and didn’t even manage to pull off the accompanying her DH on public events in July. She showed up for 45 mins with C&C and let the world know after that she felt ‘humiliated and sidelined’ - her ego is bruised and fragile.

She is a coward, most bully’s are at core. She can lob shit from across the pond but won’t be fronting up to anyone IRL. Or even appearing in public …. unless they secure the Sandringham Christmas walk.

She is returning her defective, broke, visa less, disgruntled STBXH come to a safe comforting space to be ensconced and enmeshed with his culture and community so hes out of her hair. The DCs are collateral damage in the short term but dipping them in commercially viable royal glitter for a year or so will pay off for her. PH doesnt realise he’s been dumped yet. It’s got nothing to do with info they have on KC3 health - they would be the last to know as per the first announcement as they are not to be trusted. But anyone pushing 80 with cancer isnt going to be around for ever. So the glitter dipping needs to happen now.

Slimmed down:

immediate heirs only. Any cousins, nieces, nephews, siblings don’t get a title, or any public funding or grace and favour apartments. One royal residence only, none of this owning loads of off limits places.

Whaleandsnail6 · 24/08/2026 08:43

SaraHoliday · 23/08/2026 12:16

My prediction:

Harry and Meghan 'eat humble pie' for a while.
Meghan becomes restless, doesn't feel accepted or 'safe' in the UK.
Another book.
Countless interviews.
Meghan again says she wants her old life back.
Meghan returns to the US to restart her career.
Harry remains in the UK.

I agree with everything you said until Megan will return to US alone ...I don't think they will ever split, or allow any sort of rumours their marriage is anything but paradise. There has been too much of an "us against the world-fairytale narrative" for them to ever go back on the perfectness of their life together

immediate heirs only. Any cousins, nieces, nephews, siblings don’t get a title, or any public funding or grace and favour apartments. One royal residence only, none of this owning loads of off limits places.

That’s not wildly far off what we have now.

Anne, Sophie, Edward are the only ones not in that direct line who do royal engagements. None of their children do, and their grandchildren certainly won’t.

Ok there are still some older cousins kicking about but not for long, and their children aren’t doing royal stuff (90 year old Duke of Kent, for example). So that will naturally slim down.

I’d actually abolish the monarchy all together. But if we’re going to have one, it does seem reasonably slimmed down, and with more natural loss, rather than an increase, over the coming years.

This is what I'm wondering.

Me too. Especially as KC and QC have recently discussed the cancer diagnosis. I’m wondering if there is an element of preparing the country.

A perfect summary!

NerdyBird · 24/08/2026 08:53

I think Harry will focus on Invictus (it might be his last one if he can’t redeem himself) and smaller charities, possibly military linked or things Diana would have been interested in. Meg will be settling the kids in. Then Harry will try to come back as a working royal, and might even be let, depending on KC3 health. Meg will be back and forth running her businesses. She will not want to do public duties. Divorce will be a last resort, I do think they love each other, but also their ‘story’ is something else they made a big deal of and they won’t want to let that go.

No idea what will happen after William becomes King. Things could be very different in the world by then.

For what it’s worth, I think they are coming back due to visa issues. It explains the sudden about-turn better than school or KC3 health. They have been given a final NO. It also means they can’t really go anywhere else. Meghan wouldn’t live in Africa, and Harry can’t exactly go on his own. Canada isn’t an option anymore. I don’t think Meghan would do it unless she had no other avenues.

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 24/08/2026 08:55

If they were about to split up, M would never have let the kids leave America and become domiciled in the UK - she would not be able to take them back to live in the US, surely?

I think they will behave perfectly, and probably persuade Charles to
move them into one of the royal buildings where there is heavy security - KP or Windsor. This would remove a lot of their security bill in one stroke.

either they know C is sadly on the way out, and want to be around for his last years, and will go back to the US with a decent inheritance when he’s gone, or they are re-grouping, having realised that being on the inside of the royal family is a much easier life with a lot more deference than being outside. I think they do want the kids to become ‘real’ royals which they will only do by being seen in that context alongside their cousins. We will see their faces soon, I reckon .

msellieshomie · 24/08/2026 09:20

The kids are 'real' royals but they have zero significance in terms of line of succession nor does Harry of course. William is the heir and after him it's George. If for any reason that does not work out Charlotte and Louis are next in line. Harry is no longer important as he is no longer The Spare. Charlotte and Louis are the spares. Harry's children are not part of the RF's official future just like Williams cousins aren't in the current generation. And only few can name King Charles III's cousins, as they are simply irrelevant nobodies in terms of HoS business.

Harry and his kids could have had a friendly relationship and be part of the inner circle if Harry had not betrayed them all. Now he can't be trusted nor can his loose cannon wife so they cant even hang out together as a family. They played their cards very badly indeed.

Someone upthread mentioned Harry as king if William abdicates. That will of course never happen as George, Charlotte and Louis are next in line and William is not entitled to abdicate on their behalf. As said, Harry is not important in terms of line of succession.

I really do not fancy seeing H&M media stories all over the place as the UK have important issues to be dealing with and these stories distract from more important headlines.

aCatCalledFawkes · 24/08/2026 09:22

My hope is that they take proper advice for there press communications instead of creating chaos by releasing badly timed briefings. I don't dislike them at all but unfortunately I do think they don't take advice which is the opposite of Kate and William. No one would of recommended them do Oprah the way they did.

Things could go really well for them if they could get that bit right.

I believe california is 50/50 on everything, including any money he has and the children. The UK is more flexible that that.

Binnyforthewin · 24/08/2026 09:28

Maybe they will just live a secluded live in the Cotswolds. Harry will get a proper job as say a postman, and Megan will join the WI to continue her passion of jam making. And there definitely won't be a reality TV series where they share all the details about their quest for privacy.

AprilMizzel · 24/08/2026 09:31

I don't think they have any insight into Charles health - as prior behavior suggests they couldn't keep quiet if they did.

I think they'll try and get back in tocuh with old contacts - who will likely not be keen - try and re-start some kind of acting career for her.

They'll try the persudo royal thing and find media is also increasingly fed up of them and limited public interest. I do not think they'll ever be working royals again though they may hope they can.

They'll likely flounce off slagging of the UK and trying to flog another book to rest of the world.

mybeautifulemeraldparure · 24/08/2026 09:43

Neither of them want a quiet life, they want the headlines and the drama. So it'll be the usual rollercoaster of wild claims and perpetual victimhood.
Let them get on with it.

msellieshomie · 24/08/2026 09:45

Adding that in terms of relationships (family / friends / professional) once trust has been significantly broken, there is never ever a way back.

Harry, Meghan and their kids will be managed kept at arm's length and remain on need to know basis While it all appears like a soap opera, it's not a frivolous princess diary setting.

Charles and William are privy to virtually all major state secrets, intelligence briefings, and highly confidential government business. The Sovereign is kept fully informed of all national and international affairs. It's simply a matter of national security to keep the Sussex arm of the family OUT. It's not all about bridesmaid dresses, lipgloss and puerile hurty feelings. Harry and his wife have shown to be gossips and badmouthing the constitutional Monarchy. Additionally Meghan does come across as quite unhinged and unusual and their unpredictable and volatile attitude to the heir and his family will be seen as a serious risk.

They will get nowhere near the royal family if they actually end up coming at all.

The Tv role was as ever so transparent, clearly a lie designed to pull the wool over our eyes.

MrsGusset · 24/08/2026 09:45

My prediction is that these self-proclaimed humanitarians will continue to be a total pain in the arse to anybody unlucky enough to have to deal with them in real life.

This will apply whatever their geographical location.

Mischance · 24/08/2026 09:46

William will be fuming that H&M have returned after the irreparable damage that they have done.

You do not know that.

But it is worth remembering that their father had his own "Harry moment" in his tell-all book in conjunction with David Dimbleby when he talked about his miserable childhood and how he was treated by his emotionally distant parents. He aired his resentments much as Harry has only in the media vehicle relevant to his time. He also admitted adultery.

This was at the time seen as "irreparable damage" but he was rehabilitated in the public's eyes and now is flavour of the month apparently.

Never forget that the damning of celebrities and the eventual rehabilitation lies in the hands of the media - what suckers we are to be led by the nose by it!

A recent article about school gate protocols was accompanied by pics of Meghan and framed as advice to her as to how to behave - how very ridiculous it all is.

Just leave this family be and wish them well.

Noseyoldcow · 24/08/2026 09:56

Wherever they are or are not based, whatever they do or don’t do, HAM will continue to spout a load of old tosh which the papers and social media will report on/analyse ad infinitum. As ever.

westcott · 24/08/2026 09:58

They just want ammunition for their next “truth” interview and book

I agree with this - but I had a Google into the ‘habitually resident’ issue with the DCs. Time is irrelevant but - it’s about ‘intention’ - if it was touted as temporary ie ‘extended stay’ rather than relocating then the DCs wouldn’t fall into this category. I suspect that’s also why MM has made such a performance of ‘leading her businesses from an their international bases’ - that makes it ‘belt and braces’ publicly declared it’s not a move which would trigger or risk ‘habitual residence’ for the DCs in the event of a divorce.

Also they already have the removing security costs at one stroke offer of living on already guarded royal premises with the Buckingham Palace offer. But
PH said London was too dangerous (obviously he’s been down the right wing Londonistan anti SK / Moslem Mayor shitty rabbit hole). Or they are still pitching for Windsor Castle to be on par with W&K.

Ok so ideally I want rid of the lot of them. But the titles - Beatrice and Eugenie, the archaic lords and ladies, the balconies, the numerous residences. I don’t want to see any of the hangers on anywhere, I find the whole thing repulsive in a modern society.
