Would anyone like to make a prediction of what happens next for Harry and Meghan if they return to the UK?

OP posts:

William is going to remove himself and his children from the line of succession leaving King Henry IX long to reign over you.

somewhereintheworld · 23/08/2026 22:29

I think they should both become working royals again tbh. They would get more respect that way. Otherwise people will accuse them of freeloading and rightly so.

ABitFab · 23/08/2026 22:32

@somewhereintheworld they don't deserve to become working royals. That's the point of thousands of posts here.

TofuTuesday · 23/08/2026 22:33

I think the whole family should be slimmed down and all the extras have to live a normal life. I imagine they’ve run out of money, Charles is on his way out, and they want to make it too difficult optically for William to cut the cash and titles.

Newstartplease24 · 23/08/2026 22:42

Is there something specific being hinted at on this thread?

I think they will try to get into the Windsor inner circle and be constantly butthurt that they aren’t accepted any more. I don’t understand how Harry can just not understand that his kind of family won’t and can’t tolerate the sort of shenanigans he and his wife have been doing. They don’t get to hold tight to thousand year objects encrusted with jewels and have special laws created or waived for them by being laid back about hierarchy, protocol and precedence. My dad and siblings would forgive me being a dick and slagging off the family in public, probably, but no one would have listened to me whining, which would not have been televised, and no one would have published by book, and in my family it’s not treason

If the working royals want them. I doubt it.

He can afford a good life so tbh wouldn't blame him.

I'm not prepared to re-employ them. They sucked last time, and they quit because they hated the job.

KittyTinker · 23/08/2026 23:26

Security any which way they want security.

Mischance · 23/08/2026 23:29

I am sure they will be fine if the rapes stay off their backs and let them and their chidlren settle in.

Mischance · 23/08/2026 23:29

Rapes!???? - press!!

Spellcheck has gone crazy!

tara66 · 23/08/2026 23:29

It all seems a non started.
Their security will cost £5,000,000 a year - that's the figure quoted.
Burnham has said that is a ''private'' matter i.e. not to be paid for by govt.
Charles probably won't pay it as they ceased to be working royals 6 years ago etc.
Presume H + M can't afford it - so how can they move to UK?

BemusedAmerican · 23/08/2026 23:37

Do people in the UK get Seasonal Affective Disorder? I predict they will all be glued to full spectrum lights to survive the UK winter weather.

AcquadiP · 23/08/2026 23:57

Perhaps they've struck a deal with KC. He pays for their security, housing and the education of their children in return for them living quietly under the radar avoiding media attention. No interviews, no memoirs, no court cases. I believe both would struggle to live out of the public eye but they're both also money motivated so it would depend how much money was on the table.

ComputerBleaker · 23/08/2026 20:08

Charles may be very sick...the doctors could have a timeline....and there's a media agreement to keep quiet on this for now, or put silly filler stories out there.

This is what I'm wondering.

Oh god - I really hope they don’t.

JortsNTeeShirt · 24/08/2026 00:27

Megs gets a job as landlady of the Queen Vic and becomes the BBC’s poster girl.

Hazza and Stormzy set up a youth mental health charity together. Nobody wants to book Wills to open their community centre anymore, because Hazza brings much more media attention.

Meg & Haz launch a ‘Peter & Abby Crouch-style’ podcast.

Lilibet becomes a nepo baby supermodel and marries an NBA player.

Archie becomes an A List film star and marries one of Kim Kardashian’s daughters.

Meg & Haz have a lot of fun, while cranky old Daily Mail hacks get heart disease from all that bitterness eating them up inside.

George becomes King when Wills abdicates early because he just can’t be arsed anymore.

Charlotte marries some boring toff and never gets a proper job.

Louis has a teenage meltdown and tells Will & Kate he hates them and they’ve ruined his life and he is never going to another stupid bloody Christmas Day at musty old Sandringham, and is ex-communicated, so spends his time making angry modern art installations, hanging out with his cool cousins and writing his tell-all book, Spare: The Sequel

The End

HelenaWilson · 24/08/2026 00:29

I predict some sort of event similar to the NYC "car chase" to try and guilt Charles into restoring his publicly funded security.

It's not up to the King to decide how public money is spent. Do people really not understand this?

I think the whole family should be slimmed down and all the extras have to live a normal life.

Slimmed down how? Which extras?

What I would like is for them to settle down to live a quiet life, maybe taking up a few small charities that would benefit from the exposure, and otherwise no interviews or attention grabbing public appearances. But I doubt that will happen.

I also think H would benefit from having a proper job with a fixed routine.

I don't want to see them ever undertaking official engagements, but I don't think they will.

My prediction:

Harry and Meghan 'eat humble pie' for a while.
Meghan becomes restless, doesn't feel accepted or 'safe' in the UK.
Another book.
Countless interviews.
Meghan again says she wants her old life back.
Meghan returns to the US to restart her career.
Harry remains in the UK.

Totally agree. Harry is equally thick as he is messed up. Who does he call when feels desperately low which he undoubtedly does. He doesn’t have his family to comfort or support him at 3am when he’s struggling with the decisions and consequences of his actions.

Neither does this support blanket exist on her side.

Wills has all of this.

As my ex would say, he’s really dropped a bollock.

mathanxiety · 24/08/2026 03:26

I think it's an indication the King believes his number is up. He will likely ask W&C to bury the hatchet.

When we say 'working' we are talking about a different definition of the word from that of most people who actually work, right?

user1492757084 · 24/08/2026 03:43

They find part time work that pays well.
They live a private life and continue to shelter their kids from photographers.
They have no more interaction in Royal engagements.

BemusedAmerican · 24/08/2026 04:07

I think they should stay away from charities. African Parks, Sentebale, Archewell, and Invictus are all highly problematic. If I were running a charity, I'd turn down any offer of help from them.

Rooflight · 24/08/2026 04:17

Charles is 77 and has had cancer. This is his troubled younger son and his innocent grandchildren. Despite what’s gone on and all the hurt that H&M have caused, with the book/ interview stuff, Charles craves peace within his family while there is time. He will do his best to accommodate them/ pay their security himself from private funds.

William will be fuming that H&M have returned after the irreparable damage that they have done. But Kate will persuade him to soften into things a bit for the sake of their children having cousins to grow up with. George, especially, is destined for such a peculiar and difficult life - despite the material advantages - and she will want him and the others to have cousins to knock about with, like William and Harry had Zara and Peter. William will grit his teeth.

H&M will get close with Charles Spencer. H will feel closer to his mother through that relationship.

One day King Charles will die - but I don’t feel that’s going to be for a long time. But when he does, William (at some point) will lose patience with H&M. Will be sick of funding the life style of two whinging, petulant teenagers. H&M will eventually flounce back to America.

At some point M will grow sick of Harry and realise that she’s better off on her own or with the next man. The children will stay with her. Harry will find himself single - kids in America, not knowing where to call home, having burned his bridges with William.

AustenitesUnite · 24/08/2026 07:32

Honestly, the Duke of UnSussexful Ventures will put himself in a position of "Damned if you do - damned if you don't" if he returns to the UK

Take Remembrance Day for example

If he manages to wangle a place at the Cenotaph Service in London (highly unlikely) he will be seen as trying to inveigle himself back into the RF

If he attends the local Remembrance Day Service in the Cotswolds (or wherever he decides to live) he will be seen to be trying to attract publicity and, worst still, to be in competition with the Royals who are attending a National event

If he doesn't attend any Remembrance Day commemorations he will be accused of not remembering his fallen comrades etc

So he really can't win which begs the question . . . WHY is he coming back?
